One of the best worst crash channels on this site, with a lot of stuff i've never seen before. Keep up the great work!
It's amazing how most of the drivers in these horrific accidents walk away unharmed or only with minor injuries and other drivers get really hurt or even pass away in "stupid" or "avoidable" incidents. It really puts in perspective that luck plays a mayor factor when it comes to motorsports crashes.
I wouldnt say it would be luck. I think Its more physics really. A lot of these crashes theres a lot of pieces flying off the cars, which means a ton of energy is being dissipated without the driver directly taking it. Theres more to it but this is already long enough. Sorry for the "erm actually" 👆🤓comment
Are you comparing Motorsport to normal car crashes?
1:09 the driver is Achim Zumtobel
miraculously he only suffered a broken knee
2:10 his full name is Marc Delpierre, it was during the 1990 Dutch Formula Ford championship at Zandvoort
Oh thank you, there is little info on the crash
achim just ignored physics
The unknown track is Zandvoort
And if I remember correctly, the driver was Marc Delpierre.
Love Zandvoort 4 at the Year There greets from germany
G E K O L O N I S E E R D
Some wild crashes here.
3:56 just a point of interest. Manfred went on to race until August 1985 where he crashed in turn 2 at Mosport Park north of Toronto. I was flag marshal for the next corner on that day. A helicopter was brought in to air lift him. We found out later that he’d succumbed to his injuries.
No way I love mosport
6:46 Ive never seen this one..Johnny O came damn close to getting clipped. O.O
1:13 this felt like a damn movie scene
It also doesn’t look like something from 2020, looks like a crash straight from the 1950s or 60s
2:54 How did he survive?! Especially when the cab mowed over like that! 😮
Because the cab wasn't crushed, it held up.
Wow this was really good. A few of these I’ve never seen before.
I knew Danny Drinan (2nd clip :36 second mark) back then from photographing open wheel racing. After he'd recovered, I saw him working on his car at a race and he showed me all the scars on his forearms from where they'd been thrown outside his roll-cage by the centrifugal forces caused by the violent rolling and the surgeries he'd had. I told him how much the news and video had scared me, and he kinda chuckled and said "Scared YOU?".
From what I remember hearing right after the accident, he wasn't breathing and had no pulse when responders got to him, but they got him resuscitated pretty quickly. He probably saved his own life, because instead of one of the major chassis builders' cages, he was driving his own product. Drinan chasses were built extremely strong. A pic of the one involved in this crash stripped down to just the chassis itself showed it had only been bent an inch or so out of square.
Three or four years after that crash at the Springfield mile, Danny was again badly injured in a practice session crash at Indianapolis.
No matter what level of Motorsports we're in , planes, boats motorcycles, trucks or cars there's always gonna be high speed violent crashes that sometimes cause injuries and or death. That's something we live with as we strive to make our sport more safer and yet still exciting. I've had some brutal wrecks to on a little dirt track I'm my hometown where I grew up. I hope the drivers in this video came out ok.
John Mickle's Legends somersault happened right in front of me at Cadwell. Was taking photos at the time, and it made me freeze! Incredibly lucky with the direction he bounced!
5:07 5:23. Wow, both of them got out so quickly 😯
Great video, some very lucky drivers 😮
Bloody Hell! You weren't joking. Nasty
Great video. Do Sebring worse crash next please.
How did Alboreto just stepped out his car mike nothing happened? Thats insane.
I could be wrong but I think with crashes like these, it's entirely luck. Luck and engineering.
Yeah, Senna had pretty much the same crash 3 years later and as we know didn't walk away.
@@7mgtesup1it looks exactly like sennas crash
Same crash as Senna but the front wheel flew the right way this time.
3:58 the Indiana Jones OST I can’t 😭
That 1:09 one looks like something that would be out of a movie, that is strange
The first crash... 14 surgeries and fractures?
As an F1 fan of 2024, this is insane!! Safety improved so much in the last years...
This looked like he barely scratched the wall.
That is the worst crash I've seen in truck racing, the whole cab ripped from the chassis
The Ginetta accident at Oulton Park was Hunter Abbott
Half of those clips look like someone died there.
as far as i know, most of these were NOT fatal
I mean the title says horror crashes....
can you make a video like this but showing the aftermath, as in if they died or the injuries they sustained?
Manfred climbing out from the wreckage immediately was a miracle.
Manfred actually, died later in Mosport in a group C Porsche
@@Ramsesresonator Thanks for the correction! Damn what a loss...
there was actually a crash at brands at the 2022 formula ford festival on the Saturday. It was at Paddock Hill corner too and I was there watching it live. Very scary accident he was OK
At the time 5:10...It's not from Finland, it's from Estonia national rally event. That i dont know is the driver correct
Fixed
5:24 : I had never seen this crash from Alboreto ! 😮
Wow it look similar like what happened with senna,, senna is just so unlucky 😢
I believe it was in a test session prior to the GP weekend. Alboreto references it in an interview included in the official season review. Not a good year for Footwork-Arrows when combined with Alex Caffi's crash in Monaco.
Berger crashed here already 1989 where his car set fire. After albiretos crash senna and berger went there to see what they can change on the track to make it more save. After they see behind the wall there was a river flowing they just think theres no way to remove the wall and went back to the pits. Sadky they didnt think of a chicane like we see today in tamburello…
I remember reading about it in Autosport. Michele talked about having seven stitches in his leg from a cut, which in Italian is "punti", the same as points....so he joked he was 3rd in the world championship. I'd seen photos but had never seen video until this day. More violent than Senna's crash, the Brazilian was very unlucky that a piece of suspension pierced his helmet and his skull causing the fatal brain injury.
For part 3 you should include Ryan Preece’s crash at Daytona in August 2023.
1:10 this one is insane the fact that he ran over his own loose tire
5:38 Michele Alboreto teve a sorte que o Senna não teve em 1994
It wasn't "Tom Ginetta" it was Hunter Abbott driving a Ginetta
I have seen 2:50 quite a few times in crash montages... & not once did I know that Bruno Junquiera was one of the drivers in that. 😖
unbelivable!
1:37 I DID NOT SEE THAT ONE COMING
4:19 driver seems to be Filip Czarski
2:09 I think that's zolder
Edit: I know it was zandorvot I got confused somehow.
It,s de old Zolder
Some nasty ones here. Tho I'm surprised you don't have a couple of the worst from Bristol. I forget the more recent one, but check out Michael Waltrip going partway through the access gate in 1990.
I often go to the track in my car just for fun, but watching this constantly reminds me the dangers of this sport.
4:08 Jann crash 💀💀💀
I recorded a Legends car wreck that was pretty insane back in July 2023
0:43 that was preece
Impressiona, impcta, mas é bem interessante ver q alguns saíram ilesos...👍✌🙏
The 2020 Salzburgring one is the weirdest crash I've ever seen
Agreed. It almost looks like a movie scene. I continue to question if it's real lol
ikr it doesn't even look real
@@smiff-it7840 Definitely is. The video is from a CCTV camera along the track. Dr Armin Zumtobel is a very experienced driver and by the looks of it the rear wheel came off at high speed which led to the chain of events following. His Porsche Carrera 6 was totalled and he suffered a fractured knee. There is an interview with him at his home after the accident. Search for his name and 'Salzburgring crash' and you will find it.
It’s called a blowover. It happens in NASCAR all the time, or at least used to. These cars are super lite, and coupled with the huge void left by the wheel coming off, the air just got under it and flipped it.
@@BoberMcBoberson yes, I didn't mean that aspect of it. I was surprised how it seemed relatively slow speed and the way it pirouetted.
@4:25 , driver has left the chat.
these people were very lucky to walk away. sadly there are some in the sport who didn't.
1:47 HOLY SHIT HE HIT THE FLAGSTAND was the flag man ok
6:48 XD I'm sorry but DAMN GUY HAD TO GET OUT BUT DID IT SO FAST LIKE he was in a rush to go somewhere.
Alliot's crash in Mexico was 1988, not 1987 ;)
John Mickle raced in junior ministox at the same time as me (both spedeworth).Only john was good at it,and i was rubbish at it!.1980's.
WTF. The first one is from 2003 and there isn't any runoff area there and no tire walls at all! At least there should have been a chicane before a curve like that.
@4:25 WTF, that is horrifying
Can’t believe they race ‘legends’ at Cadwell. They don’t even race them at proper tracks in the US, let alone Uk.
2020 Salzburgring guy just ignored Physics
Ok I have seen almost all the videos
Unknown track is Zandvoort.
the unknown driver is Hans Shmidt
Hasta donde es deporte, hasta donde locura
Nunca es deporte, siempre es locura.
1:30 Was that Martin Brundle narrating over Sprint Cars? wtf
Came here to ask that! It must have been for a compilation show on British tv or something.
i miss spike tv
Shit happens! and when it does, it happens FAST!!!
I'm changing my name to Manfred Winkelhock.
2:42 kinda looks like jeff krosnoffs fatal crash.
well, even thought countless people have died and been maimed and disfigured, it's really important that this type of Sport continue, otherwise, guys would have to figure out something important to do with their lives!
The Unknown driver is Robert Wolk
EDIT: at Brands Hatch
Which unknown driver? There were several
Fixed it @@brendanschuett
I can update the chapter name but not the text
I see no signs of 'insanity',
Crazy I’m telling Greek.
4:04 Flugplatz is not translated to flying place. Flugplatz means airport.
Bro that 2020 unknown was a goofy crash.
Did anybody die?
All of them
Yep, not a proper crash unless wheels come off.
No 1977 South African Grand Prix?
1:30 is that martin brundle???? lmao
It’s terrible but they know the risks.
another really bad one sprint car carsh would be lucas wolfe at Williams Grove Speedway in march 25th 2007 one of the worst modern day sprint car wreaks
1:41
That car gave them flag wavers a haircut
That’ll be 10 dollars
(Screaming) OHHHHHHHH!
3:40 I never seen the crash full spedd
You could have honored the deceased with research work so that we could name them! No one is unknown.
No one here died?
Did most of these drivers die?
no
I think that as a fair tribute to the drivers, the information should clarify whether they died in the accident, were left with injuries that did not allow them to continue competing, or were able to continue their normal lives and racing. Really very strong images that testify that in each category, the pilots literally risk their lives or physical integrity.
No one has died as the first line in the description reads.
@@crazycars81 Yes, you're right, I didn't see it, sorry XD Thanks for the videos, they are impressive. For information, I don't know if this is the same Winklehock, I searched the Internet and from Manford it passed me to Manfred Winkelhock, who died in Mosport a few years later. A family of drivers that even Markus got to race an F1 Spyker back in 2007, and because of the rain when everyone went to the pits, he even led a couple of laps at the Nürburgring, I still remember it hahaha!!! Greetings!!!
And some did Not walk away.
5:08 Grab your shampoo and soap! Its time to take a bath!
V8 Supermidgits on a mile lmao😅
No way the polish driver at 4:20 survived
Actually he walked away without major injuries.
4:28 how can you underestimate a turn so much? Compared to the other drivers he was going so much faster
Pretty sure his brakes failed
@@lucasnincioni5525 did he die?
@@arny_-_ no one there died
@@crazycars81 oh ok
@@arny_-_ The only time that there's a fatal crash on this channel it only shows pictures instead of the video.
Fml, these drivers were lucky...
hmmmm... they need to practise a little bit more
tom ginetta hahahaha
5.12 that flag waver was centimeters from death
😂
Skill issue
