I don't see any doctors and nurses here. I think these are support staff. It takes a lot to run a hospital/healthcare system. Of course the employees in demand (doctors) get a fair wage. The support staff is seen as mostly replacable individuals, so why pay them more than minimum wage? Is that right? No. These are essential workers. When you get hit by another driver on your way to work, or when you or your s/o is having a baby, or that baby has a medical emergency.. these are the people you have to trust your life with! Do you want that person to be in a situation with your loved one where they say "I don't get paid enough for this?" What level of care does that provide?
Oh trust me, that narrative of patient safety is bs. In my region they got their raises and the same nonsense has gone on as usual. Lazy people will be lazy no matter how much we get paid. EVS, CNAs, techs ect.
@@NhuQuynh-nv7fp You saying CNAs are not service workers? The last SEIU strike they said "nurses, patient safety" ect were mostly receptionist, EVS, cooks, EVS, and receptionist.
Paychecks are relative. Whether you make 50k or 200k. It depends on how you spend your money. If you're eating out at nice restaurants every day and drinking mimosas every weekend then of course you'll be living paycheck to paycheck. I've seen people with 60-70k salaries and have significant savings cause they choose a better-suited lifestyle.
The people that are striking are not nurses they are the housekeepers your cnas surgical techs transport. They get paid less than fast food workers now.
Actually if you can't eat out at nice restaurants and drink mimosas on the weekend, then you are living check to check. Nobody should be working just for rent, food, and clothes. That's modern slavery.
In another post, you mentioned that your wife's friend who is a nurse making $10k/week. Either you're misinformed or you're an administrator spreading lies. Even doctors don't make $10k/week (or $520k/year). These people are service workers who are making low wage $18-20/h. They are on strike for better pay and working conditions.
It takes me 55 minutes to clean a room properly (bed dressing, trash, linen, bio, shower, 2 sinks, toilet, 2 tables, flat surfaces, bathroom and bedroom floor mopping, checking paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps). I have no support from my department, techs, or nurses. However, they're real quick to right me up as they sit looking up real estate on the hospital computer. Something tells me you come from a privileged background. Remember, your past generations were in my shoes, and now you're a white collar.
Endangering our lives everyday coming to work? lol Just stop. No way in hell any of those people are nurses, doctors, or anyone with a graduate degree. They make serious bank and nurses have excellent schedules.

You ever went to a hospital and left worst than when you came? You ever had surgery and contracted a flesh eatting bacteria? You ever stayed at a hospital and your room had blood, mucus, or some contact droplet virus on the wall? You ever stayed at a hospital and couldn't get anything to eat while there? No,no,no. If cost of living goes up then so must wages .
Cost of living is directly tied to policy and government taxing. Thats not a business issue.
@Joe-pc3hs societal consciousness is also important
@danielvega8583
That depends on whether or not the social trend is true or concocted.
@Joe-pc3hs everything and everyone has its pros and cons

It’s not CNA (nurses union) that’s striking . They are respiratory therapy, food services , ancillary support staff
Naww. These people are easily replaced.

Dont expect change. The talking points of Unions "patient safety" but its the same clown show.
The majority of people in California are living paycheck to paycheck as making ends meet couldn't pay up credit cards debt.
That is why credit cards are bad.
Expect your healthcare insurance and out-of-pocket costs to increase.
"We don't make no money" doesn't really tell us facts.

2:41 Fast food workers, grocery workers, factory workers, "risked" their lives too then.
@bobbowie9350 Security guards, life guards, Metro workers, and retail workers also risk their life.
Am I missing something? Why are so many healthcare workers around the state?
Its a complete racket
Because there are multiple hospitals duh.
