merci pour cette ultime version de la Bayadère, quelle distribution, Sylvie Guillem mais aussi Laurent Hilaire qui est son meilleur partenaire pour moi et Agnès Letestu, une Gamzatti princière et cruelle !
Les costumes et décors de l'Opéra de Paris pour la Bayadère sont aussi fantastiques, rien que le tutu en soie rouge et violette de Gamzatti et le décor de Frigerio font mon bonheur !
Somptueux décors, sublime Sylvie Guillem et Laurent Hillaire. Un des plus beaux ballets qui était si peu dansé à l'Ouest. Merci à Rudolf Noureev.

Io non so spiegarmi come si possa dire che Sylvie sia fredda....ogni sguardo e gesto sono significativi. Se le gambe e i piedi colpiscono per la bellezza, trovo che il movimento delle braccia e della testa siano un suo grande punto di forza espressiva....assolutamente affascinante e magnetica. Unica per me.

is a good match.
He slightly " corrected" the old choreography, he DIDN'T create anything. It is easy to prove - just watch the classic versions of Mariinsky and Bolshoi.
Finally a reception she deserves! They were great to her, tonight!

Was actually looking for her with Cope in Manon and found this. Thx so much for posting! Do you know about what year and who any of the other featured dancers are?
I don't think Sylvie and Jonathan Cope were recorded in Manon aside for the final pas de deux which was for a gala. Although it may be in the ROH archives they rarely release those videos which is a real shame. I added information to the video with more details on the dancers.
@@_toscanina Thx! Yes, I've seen videos and YT accounts vanish suddenly where RB is concerned! I wish they understood it's to their advantage to have their vids out there seen by people not in the UK!

Whatever perfect Silvi is, but the best Nikia ever seen is Isabelle Guerin. The best performance of Bayadere is of 1992 with trio Isabelle Guerin - Elizabette Plattel as Gamzatti - Laurent Hilaire. Even Prima cannot suit for everything to dance.
Ouiiiii ! La technique de Guillem est spectaculaire mais c’est une performance continu dont l’émotion est absente. Isabelle Guerin apporte tellement plus de féminité , de musicalité , d’émotions et reste pour moi la plus sublime Nikiya.
