Thank you Emmanuel Thibault, great dancing, totally dedicated to the moment. Beaux phrasés, grand style qui a pris le meilleur de l'Opéra sans recevoir les honneurs (shame)!
Emmanuel Thibault is oh so beautiful dancing this pas de trois - took my breath away when I first watched it. I can see Nureyev musicality. Love this version of Paquita. Thanks for posting
Whenever I am in need of some inspiration and beauty, I watch this Pas de trois, particularly of course for Emmanuel Thibault's first solo variation. C'est le summum, le nec plus ultra, l'expression supreme de l'Ecole de Paris.
It's unfair: Thibault is one of the best dancer of POB (and of the world actually), and he will probably remain "premier danseur" his whole life. His dance is so beautiful, perfect technically and moving at the same time. Alhtough his great intelligence and talent, he's nice and simple with people. An example for every dancer. A great guy! On t'aime Emmanuel!
Isn't "Premeiere dancer" the highiest rank? It means one with such title is the first in line for first premiere, I don't of a highier rank, it's the same as Prima Ballerina, the femail version
@@r.r.c7692 What do you think English equivalent is? In French etoile is the same as premier dancer, means the highest rank and Premiere means first in line to dance new premieres. Don't teach me, I know all that but here we speak English, not French
@@BytomGirl in french premier danseur and etoile are not the same rank. Other companies use "Principal Dancer" for the highest rank. a literal translation for Premier Danseur would be Principal Dancer. but surprinsingly a Premier Danseur at POB isn't the highest rank. the equivalent for premier danseur at the royal ballet would be first soloists or leading soloist/first soloist at the bolshoi.
@@r.r.c7692 Which equals etoile, the highest rank whichever way you look at it and principal is not premier, premier is called that specifically because that dancer is first in line for premieres of new ballets
paris opera ballet is my favorite in the world, i dont think their students and dancers know how much other dancers would kill to be in that company since they really only take from their school. but their technique is superb and there isnt one dancer that isnt amazing!! thanks for posting
Paquita es uno de mis ballets favoritos y este pas de trois bailado x Thibault me parece el mejor de los q he visto con otros interpretes. Bravisimo Thibault!!!
Thibault is dancing, the guy from the Kirov is just doing the steps With the women it's exactly the opposite: Pankova & Sitnikova(Kirov) are dancing (beautifully), the Paris Opera girls are just doing steps (and not very well in this case) This is the best clip of Thibault and what magnificent style, detail and sweep his dancing has here !!! Beautiful :-)
Amazing dancing from Emmanuel Thibault - the best I have seen this danced. Wonderful ballon, beautifully executed technique, phenomenal stage presence - he definitely should be an Etoile. I do agree though that, although these girls are good, Pankova and Sitnikova were better!
It is not completely exact. The pupils of the school are alone to take the first examination, but the not provided places are offered to a second competition which everybody can present. So he can have members of the company there who do not arise from the school even if there is little in fact.
I actually like these Paris Opéra girls who are just doing steps. As a ballet learner, it is very interesting to watch them do their steps. They're doing very correctly - it's amazing to see for a learner.
IMO, the Bolshoi version of this pas de trois seems more authentic to the old Paris style than this version. Thibault, Daniel and Hurel, while fine, are too modern, gymnastic, covering too much ground and eschewing any style but their virtuosity, while exhibiting the forced, mannered modern style the POB now displays; the tempi are sluggish to allow them to overdo the choreography. This pas de trois is not for a danseur noble, it's for a soubrette, a demi character dancer. The Bolshoi's version is more in the style of Bournenville (note the man's shoes), who came from the time this ballet was performed in Paris, and took that style to Denmark. Petipa was also a dancer in Paris at the same time. While we do not know exactly how it looked, Burlaka, who reproduced the Bolshoi's version seems, more in touch with the different era than Lacotte, who caters to the dancer's virtuosity at the expense of any spontaneous charm. I'm not condemning the dancers, they're wonderful, but compare the Bolshoi's and you sense an authenticity, I think, which is more "right" for the piece.
They're doing the same "reconstruction" by Lacotte that POB does. I don't see anything more of the era that they're doing other than having the male dancer wearing typical Bournonville shoes. If anything, the Bolshoi dancers seem very stiff to me and quite unlike the Royal Danish Ballet which is the most accurate representation of the style.
Emmanuel Thibault... MAGNIFIQUE!!!

I like the choreography of Pierre Lacotte for ever and Thibault is Amazing
this is Marius Petipa, not Pierre Lacotte
