Sam at the start switched universes. Until just before this episode, he was one of universes where that children's book series was either called the Bearnstein Bears or Bernstien bears
FYI, both were used in different print runs depending on the market it was intended for. European markets, including the UK, used Berenstain, but North America got Berenstein. Sometimes British media made it to us, which is why you might have occasionally seen both.
I donated my hair that was cut off during my post lockdown haircut to Matter of Trust. They make hair mats to soak up oil. The hair is woven/matted together rather than being put in a stocking. They need long hair strands like I had to hold things together. Hair from shorter cuts and pet hair is used to bulk up the mats. One thing the mats can be used for is a cover over storm drains to stop motor oil.
I loveeee the hair oil clean up. There is a program called "green circle salon" and others in northern alberta where I am. We had to add an extra dollar or so to fund the program and there would be boxes and bags for all our waste. I wish more people did this. Will Def when I get to be on my own!!@
Hooray for superfund sites! I grew up down wind/water of Rocky Flats, dad worked there. That was a fun take your kid to work day. I also grew up near the Shattuck radium site. Then there's the rocky mountain arsenal. Good times.

I think because bitter is a complex compound of many fats, water, sugars, and proteins, It's more a processed oil-storage food. Coconut oil is almost pure fat. I'd say clarified butter/ghee is an oil, though. That and coconut oil are prepared in pretty much the exact same way.
The word is viscose. *Fat is oil, butter has oil. We harvested whales for oil. Research Love Canal. (I am commenting as I watch so maybe you brought it up).
I enjoy that after randomly saying "regulatory capture!" At examples of successful regulation the one actual example of regulatory capture, the food industry funded studies tainting nutrition legislation, went completely unremarked upon! You guys are so silly and I love it.
Well any person with long-ish hair in the early-mid 2000s knows about "Locks of Love" and how people donated that, it can't be hard to say, "hey, can you cut my hair and I'll donate it?"
37:43 if you took the conservative average amount of hair grown by the collective human race each year and laid each strand end to end, it would be approximately 110 billion km, or 370 round trips to the sun. (Average number of scalp follicles: 90,000-150,000 [I used 90K]. Average growth per year: 6 inches.)
Idk if you were replying to me specifically or youtube notifs is bugging out but we're literally saying the same thing just worded out differently. "Same [side of]" and "on this side of [context]" is the same depending on how you phrase it. Like how cisatlantic just means "on the same side of the atlantic as the speaker" is the same as saying "on this side of the atlantic [where the speaker is]".
@@iansorono5376 again, assuming you were replying to me lol, I was replying to the OP and didn't see your response at first. We're definitely saying the same thing

I still vote that the gaunlet should award ONE point at the end to whoever has the most "in-gauntlet points"
Always so shocked by how underappreciated this show is - it should have so many more views and likes 😢
One of my favorite shows. I agree.
ditto
I lowkey enjoy that it not well known. I feel like its just for us few 😂
Flagging this video as needing (not just auto-generated) subtitles. Please help us hard of hearing and deaf folks access your content!! 🥰🤟🏻
Sam at the start switched universes. Until just before this episode, he was one of universes where that children's book series was either called the Bearnstein Bears or Bernstien bears
Every couple of episodes Sam is moved to a new universe with slightly different Gauntlet rules, and sometimes there's even bigger differences.
@@mrjoe332 😆😆
Berenstain? 😂
Berenstein universe represent!
FYI, both were used in different print runs depending on the market it was intended for. European markets, including the UK, used Berenstain, but North America got Berenstein. Sometimes British media made it to us, which is why you might have occasionally seen both.
You gotta put the knit blanket in between others the air pockets insulate
Route 66 state park(Formerly Times Beach) has composting toilets and no water fountains spigots or water supply of any sort.
I know the gauntlet is weird and difficult but I love it, and y’all have so much fun competing to get the least amount of negative points!

This is awesome!
This is awesome!
Hank, you seem a lot happier and even look happier today.
I literally had to revisit old episodes to check for "hello and welcome".
But then maybe that was the ploy! 😯
Finished all of the episodes on RUclips a couple months ago, so getting new episodes is always a great day, thank you
Fun fact: Ann Arbor, MI currently has a plume of 1,4-Dioxane traveling through the underground aquifers, rendering well water toxic.
Yikes. Don't like that.
We have a different definition of fun.
That's scary, like a slasher villain that can't be stopped. Is it diffusing slowly because it's more dense and the water is cold?

It is so funny to watch the difference of this Gauntlet to the one from the Slime episode, I just re-heard yesterday 😂😂
I would sign up for a blanket of the month club
What the heck i want a link to that magical blanket ahahaha
Sam just casually having a stroke at the beginning was the funniest thing. 😂

Davis, CA (where I live) is also a superfund site. Irradiated beagles and whatnot. Mostly because of agricultural chemical contamination.
hey, at least Stanley lake isn't *too* radioactive
The conversation blanket 🥲❤ that is so sweet!!!
It's fine. This is all just fiiiiine.
Excited!
This show deserves so many more views/subs

I wanna know what this amazing blanket is. I want an amazing blanket too 😢
Ceri..is..is that....is that garlic?????? on ur wall???? HAHA Loved this show, rly helping me through a very tough time. ♥ thanks yall
Conversation blanket is so cute?!?
1) Still an oil if frozen. Ex: soapmakers still refer to oils that are solid at room temp as oils.
where do we need to go to make sure oil gets a proper definition? IUPAC? OPEC? OFI?
People GET paid to take away people's unused crap. Like, it's a service.
Oh, I so remember that point in time where my children decided that they just wanted to read their book on their own by themselves
Damn Ceri is amazing at science communication!
@6:30 Isn't that basically just what vodka is in it's purest form?
Can someone explain/tell me what Sam said at 9:25

That Notion AI ad script is the funniest thing I've ever heard, who wrote that?? XDD
Definitely not Kevin.
If butter isn't an oil is coconut oil oil?

Crisco fact! The name is a shortening of crystalized cotton-seed oil.
The word is viscose. *Fat is oil, butter has oil. We harvested whales for oil. Research Love Canal. (I am commenting as I watch so maybe you brought it up).
William osman must watch this because he made a video frying in every kind of oil

Ceri for President! Or maybe come to my country and be Prime Minister of my country.
I'm ancient. I knew it was cottonseed oil.
The sound is really out of sync with the video on the ads
People named Kevin are not happy with the add read
Came here from Spotify, these are not the faces I expected .
Re collecting hair: prisons have lots of captive people with hair.💈😜✂️

Wait, the "cis" we use to describe gender came from the way we use to differentiate the types of fat?
Nah. Cis- is just a prefix, in latin it means "on this side of". So they share roots rather than one coming from the other.
Idk if its that specifically but yeah cis and trans are Latin prefixes that have been used in science for a long time!
...no. They both come from the root meaning "same". In fats, "same side"; in gender, "same as assigned at birth".
Idk if you were replying to me specifically or youtube notifs is bugging out but we're literally saying the same thing just worded out differently.
