When I need to throw away food or scraps that will most certainly spoil a stink before the next trash day, I bag ‘em and freeze ‘em instead, and then I put a post-it note on the trash can to remind myself the next time I walk the bins to the curb, not to forget to check the freezer and chuck them out as well.
Oh and as for the frozen chicken it's not really safe to eat very old frozen foods as you can't guarantee that your food remained at a stable temperature for that entire time, especially considering Sam's house move!
The Capri Corn discussion evokes memories of elementary school lunchrooms in which we tried our best to create the world's most vile concoctions. I gagged and I'm lovin' it
I'm absolutely fine having to skip the science couch if it means we get this level of entertaining banter the whole episode! I was literally laughing out loud while supposedly trying to fall asleep
"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx "Dark Swing" could be the style of dance exemplified recently by Wednesday Addams?
I know that the rules for the Gauntlet are kind of complicated but honestly it's a cool concept! Once you get used to how it works, it's a lot more exciting.

I love how Hank continues to be famous to various niches of people for very different, but nerdy, reasons. 😂 I was surprised when Hank said he was famous for being on Dimension 20, but its just another valid cool thing hes done. 😂 ❤
Anyone who's owned a dog that's remotely good drive knows they will sneak in and out if dark rooms to find something to get into. For my corgis, it's always food-related. They periodically search empty rooms and make sure to check any trash cans they can stick their snoots inside.
Oldest thing in my freezer is a half bottle of Aquavit my dad got in 2018. You take a shot when you catch a flu/cold etc. Still haven’t gotten through the whole bottle yet.
Throw the chicken away on trash day. Make a big batch of something like sweet tea every few weeks and use the unusable ice in the big pitcher to chill it. Then you'll have all fresh ice cubes.

Those two Old English words both come from the same source! The Proto-Germanic *derkaz I also assumed as much when you said it but before I looked or up because changing between T and D Is super common in languages because they're just the unvoiced and voiced versions of the same sound.
Also I'm assuming the vowel chance, given the time period, was a part of the Great Vowel Shift that happened in/around the 1400s. Also therk was probably actually pronounced like "terk" , English used to do that was th-, but that i cant ne 100% sure on. Those two sounds (voiced and unvoiced of 'th' think "bathe" vs "bath") used to have their own letters, which were separate from T and each other, and i kinda miss that
As someone who was also in college in 2010 and saw Despicable Me when it came out, Sam made me feel like a nerd. 😂😂 Though im still confused about how the minions became a breakout thing from that movie. 😂
Sam! When I was carrying my first baby, my spouse put a flashlight against my belly and Baby kicked the light each time it was repositioned. So the light went through enough.
I live in Arizona. You better believe that chicken will smell awful in my trash can. It was 77 the other day, so it had to be well over 100 in my black can. That frost-bitten chicken is staying in my fridge.
It will stay frozen long enough to tie shut the bag really tight. If the bag is sealed well enough, smell can't escape even if the inside of the bag is smelly.
Always remember that psychrotrophic bacteria exist. Listeria can still contaminate frozen food, and freezer temps aren't always stable at below freezing.
Some cultures were known to use the dark spaces between the constellations, and I do not know what it was called. I wonder what relation to darkness they might have had.
You are our last hope for information. You use the words I don't know instead of just giving information that is not real. We have now moved into a place where the right thing to do is inform others that they need to keep looking because we are looking also. (This brings back bad dumb blond jokes of the 80's...) I love your guys. Cornprees!
I'm 38 and I have not seen any Minions anything and I don't have kids. It may not be totally causal, but it's correlated at the least (not having kids and not having seen those movies).
I am SHOCKED capri-corn is 'coke with corn in it drinken with a boba tea straw' and not 'Dr. Pepper with corn in it drinken with a boba tea straw' 😂😂 Either way, I look forward to watching Ceri drink it. 😂
David Deutsch did a talk at TED 2005 where he talks about the total darkness in those giant voids in an otherwise astounding talk. His analogy of the darkness is also incredible at starts around 10:45: ruclips.net/video/gQliI_WGaGk/видео.htmlsi=cIg24sNRqXjYmCRP

I'm only 17 minutes in and this is already one of my favorite ever Tangents episodes. This is off the rails and I love it.
You said it perfectly :) 😂
Honestly really love the mild cursing this show has started to incorporate. This episode was a delight. Love the zany energy
I love that the doggos *know* when they're being naughty! 🤣

I love it when you’re all having so much fun that you run short on time. Part of the joy of watching is how much fun you all have!
this episode is particularly unhinged and i love it
The Capri Corn discussion evokes memories of elementary school lunchrooms in which we tried our best to create the world's most vile concoctions. I gagged and I'm lovin' it
dude that freezer chicken is older than my baby sister lol
They keep just… not doing the gauntlet properly 😂
I'm absolutely fine having to skip the science couch if it means we get this level of entertaining banter the whole episode! I was literally laughing out loud while supposedly trying to fall asleep

Hank's *in a mood* during this recording and I'm here for it.
if your body goes to science, make sure you go with a reputable company because it's likely that you will just be parted out to the highest bidder
if you think about it if your doing science your donating your body to science while your still alive

As long as it's free for my family that's all I care about.
What's so bad about that?
3:21 i think "it's just holding onto thermal mass" on an almost daily basis since this aired 😂😂😂
Just realized the episode would be premiering 🤩 stoked! And need to subscribe
I love the chaos of this episode, more like this please 😜
Also, did Ceri move or just shift the furniture?
I think she shifted her camera or a smaller room. Her sound is better
Definitely a different room, not sure if different house.
I once had some frozen duck that my old flatmate had left in there before moving out. I threw up so hard I had noodles in my nose
That's the best "tell people about us" yet!
Woot! Can't believe I've caught you guys live for a change!! 🎉
Man this crew is ballin
Is that a CD, face-down on Hank's desk??? It is driving me crazy.
Capri-corn sounds like something mythical kitchen would make
Perfect Thirk is a great band name
I love how Hank continues to be famous to various niches of people for very different, but nerdy, reasons. 😂 I was surprised when Hank said he was famous for being on Dimension 20, but its just another valid cool thing hes done. 😂 ❤
Life pro tip: make a grilled cheese sandwich, cut it diagonally, then spoon a small amount of Manuka honey on each bite. It's phenomenal
We heard y'all and will be watching. There better be a capricorn toast!
Thanks for the laughs cant wait until your next show. 😆💚
This episode maintained its absence of hinge till the very last second
I loved this episode so much!!
I could have had the sci-couch too! Perfect tangents!!
The Laniakea hypercluster is in the middle of the KBC void, which is 6 times as large as the Boötes void.
Talking about the voids between galaxies reminds me (nerd) of a Star Trek Voyager episode that deals with something similar.
I, for one, will only trust SciShow Tangents for all my food safety guidelines
The dog that recognised Hank from dimension 20 always ate the food because it was always able to rationalise it
Sam and/or Ceri should do a Let's Play of Outer Wilds.
Sam, parents keep photos and keepsakes until their kids are old enough to take care of them. Thats quite normal ❤
HOW have I never known this channel existed?!
36:59 that is the guiltiest dog I’ve ever seen

My old ice just evaporates.

In the RAF we were taught the carrot story in basic training. 🥕👀🌃

I'm so mad that y'all's weird no context minion piss situation is actually maybe going to make me purchase a patreon😂😂😂

Boba tea with corn?? I foresee a p4a food!!
Oh no! Dump those ice cubes often! They start absorbing nasty smells and flavors!
7:52 my friend (100% blind) said in response to this bit, "God damn, I can't imagine how that must feel." 😂😂😂

Old ice cubes don't stick around; they sublimate.
Always remember that psychrotrophic bacteria exist. Listeria can still contaminate frozen food, and freezer temps aren't always stable at below freezing.
Of course, we like the screwing around because it makes a parasocial perspective that much more tempting. ☆☆Authenticity☆☆ lol

The carrot fact is just a known thing in the UK
I have a years old bowl of rancid grease in my freezer. I want the bowl back, but I don’t want to thaw it. It was one of the worst smells ever
Where does murkiness fit in?
Am I crazy or did they immediately forget the rules of the gauntlet? Like passed questions were not supposed to be stealable.......
Yeah, I had to check again too. I get that the rules for the gauntlet may be a bit complex at first, but how many times have they played it by now?
Also Ceri needs to paint the drywall were they patched those holes
Warning: Do NOT listeb to this episode while walking down the street. I look demented, laughing at the idea of Hank's pyramid.
😊Who hasn’t sucked up a straw cream corn on a plate? 😂😅😮
Speaking of old food in a refrigerator, check out the Cowboy Bebop episode Toys In The Attic.

Apparently people with blue eyes see better in the dark than people with brown eyes.
Very free people know what it's like to be a moose. And all mooses do 😂
Not a capriCORN 😂😂
Throw away the stinky stuff on garbage day
Why does Sam's house look like he just flip the mattress after his grandma died and moved in
