Interesting thoughts on this one Harry. In the end, never rely on trends but go for something what is never going out of style. Exactly! I totally agree with you, this is why I stick to timeless sneakers that worked well in the 80s, 90s and still do in 2024. Stuff like Converse All Star, Dr. Martens (not a sneaker but you get the idea), Adidas Forums and even AJ1s. Nothing with special edition colours or patterns, just simple basic stuff that works with everything.

As a hardcore sneaker head who has worn/collected sneakers since 2004 when I got my first job...
People aren't over sneakers, but rather hypebeast sneaker culture.
When say a Travis Scott Jordan comes out, there's a low chance of getting them for retail unless you're a fashion/sneaker influencer.
I'm at an age where I don't care nor have the time to go enter raffles, wait in line overnight, or whatever else it takes to get a sneaker.
One point, if I wanted something bad enough, if pay resell.
But now I'd rather just invest that money in ETF's or for my retirement, which I should've been doing all along.

on most people sneakers really don't look as good-as stylish (in a practial way)-as they may think, the further one deviates from clean silhouettes and simple colorways. In my opinion of course. I pretty much stopped wearing sneakers outside of the gym altogether in my late 20's. But as element of fashion, sneakers will always be integral. Maybe not HYPE, but integral

Sneaker with a clean look or vans are good to look stylish during you do your hobbies. Tennis schuhs out of leather on color no logos or what ever the else do. Just clean and Streamlined. And low top. Wight or middle brown. grey is as veteran as wight and blue and brown are the best colors that matches most pants in light or dark Shades. Black is actually not the best choice to match pants that are not jeans. But even light blue jeans looks stupid with black sneakers. People looks like a cartoon figure. They look stupid. XD

When I was in Las Vegas just last month, I did something unusual - I started looking at people's shoes. I mean, you do get tired of winning all the time. 😃So for about 20 minutes as hundreds walked by I took a gander at their footwear. Very varied. Mostly sneakers of way different "stripes", colors and features - some still had the little lights going on. (Mostly kids) Dress shoes were mainly for the suited men - floor managers, casino hosts and such. Yes, sneakers are here to stay.

When I see someone that says the "sneaker scene" is stale, I do think that person is stale. I believe those people still live in 2016 , when they think hunting and paying ridiculous resell prices for overhyped models like Jordan 1 and Yeezy make someone cooler than another. I always find the idea of competing over who's got more "drip" with their "grail" technology-outdated basketball shoes from the 70s very childish 😂 The sneaker world is at a much better place now, where there's something for everyone thanks to the diversity of trends. Retro models are also being more appreciated for their looks and vibes, sometimes even comfort, instead of for the "drip" that kids chase after. The recent trend also brings once-considered-uncool brands like Asics to the surface (although they've been making really great sneakers for decades, Idk how for years people only cared about Nike and Adidas). Just overall good business!

I don’t wear any tailored clothing so sneakers are obvious choice for me.

That’s fair enough. I like to see how I feel at the time and just wear whatever really.

I love Stan Smiths. There's a little known brand called Flamingos Life, out of Spain, that makes beautifully designed sneakers for a fair price. Might be worth checking out 🤷🏻‍♂️

    It is dying
    why?
because people at last understand there is no real authentic improvement from the company, they play nostalgic and fail to deliver the sentiment for the newer product. why? i don't know if they are incompetent or just plain lazy. Either way, to rely upon influencer to spread your product also just plain lazy. Make something real, do not hate excellent innovation, do not just play into the social sentiment which is boring and lazy (commemorative with social cause) because no one care enough to buy a sneaker just because of your feeling. Be better shoes industry.
