  • Hi guys, a little review and explanation on some of the techniques I have tried at your suggestion. They all worked great in their own ways and I would strongly suggest you all give them your own trial.

I finally tried the yelling thing. Its weird that after my first go at it, I felt somehow guilty for losing control.
It is as if I am not supposed to loose control even though there was no one there.
Keep up the great channel Cal. It is making a difference.

Im very proud of you for giving it a go, I know it can seem strange, wrong and inappropriate but that is because we are always told from a young age "dont raise your voice at me", "your too loud", "keep it down" etc etc.
When I take to the field I am so loud yelling orders etc and thats my vent, with Covid preventing that I am relying on this, like a teapot over boiling, let the pressure out a bit and you will feel better.
      Great job.

Breathing exercises really help if you're experiencing panic attacks (used to help me heaps) Breathing in to the count of 4 and breathing out for 5. I'm am someone who deals with self harm, i was cutting and I do have light scarring from it. I seen a psychiatrist a while back and she gave me a technique for dealing with the urge to self harm, which was getting a rubber band bracelet the kinds they sell at counters for charities, they're unisex and basically are like a thick rubber band. Pulling back and letting it snap on your wrist to produce brief harmless pain to distract you. My brother used to have a punching bag hanging under the back varandah that he used have a go of when he was feeling angry, helped calm him down heaps. Any form of exercise helps heaps to lift your mood, really helps the mind to just get out and go for a nice 30 min walk.

Thank you very much Pastel Invader, Im glad you have used these techniques to help yourself better cope, I have used the breathing exercise known as box breathing in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, empty for 4 and repeat until Im centered. I hope you are well and Im so thankful that you have shared some of your story with me.
