It's my first time hearing a dancer saying it's their first time watching seventeen. They are the best group in term of dancing ever. Hoping to see more.

I've been out of the Kpop scene since the 3rd generation, so I didn't have a chance to get into many groups that debuted in that gen and newer! No better time like the present to give these groups a watch!

Fun fact: their dance trainer/ choreographer Choi Youngjun was on a show recently with another prolific choreographer for many other kpop groups, and they both noted that SVT had no weak dancer, which is why Youngjun didn't really have to adjust the difficulty of the steps for any member when they're highlighted, unlike when choreographing for other groups where they have to take those into consideration.

Another fun fact, SVT hold the record for having the biggest height difference among the tallest and shortest members amongst all kpop groups... Mingyu is 187cm (making him one of the tallest active kpop bg member) and Woozi is 165cm (making him the shortest bg member in history)

10:23 Actually, Carats are used to this kind of formation in the choreography. Seventeen choreographies do not necessarily need to showcase the visuals of members all the time like other groups. The members are willing to perform any type of choreography regardless if they're hidden, facing backwards, or on the sidelines of the stage.
They are a 13 member group but in this particular choreography only 12 members are present (S.coups, leader is injured.) We only feel weird if there are missing members. When one member is not around, we feel like five members are missing hahaha

One thing about seventeen is that they're amazing dancers and can do really elaborate and difficult stuff but the focus is always on the choreo fitting the song and I don't think they've ever not delivered on that. Sometimes a cute loose choreo is what works the best and I don't think they try to force anything just to show off. I get really happy watching their snapshoot choreo

Thank you for your reaction! Seventeen is known as the Performance King and theatre kid of Kpop and they are one of the most synchronised groups in the industry. Their dance formation has always been very creative (probably because of the size of the group). I’ll recommend the following choreography videos to watch as they are really special:
    Interesting formation/theatre elements:
    -Pretty U
    -Thanks
    -Home;Run
    -24H
Crazy synchronisation: (feel like this group is kinda stupid becoz they are always synchronised but these are some of my favs)
    -Mansae
    -Very Nice
    -Don’t Wanna Cry
    -Crazy in Love
    Hard hitting ones:
    -Getting Closer
    -Hit
    -Super
    -Hot
    Loose and fun ones:
    -Oh My
    -Left&Right
    - _World
-Our Dawn is Hotter Than Day
    -Snap Shoot
Sorry for making the comment so long! Hope you will enjoy watching them!

    Some notes while watching
7:41 these three groups are actually the three different sub units that seventeen consists of, from the left in order:
Dino, hoshi, the8 and jun are the performance unit
Jeonghan, DK, Joshua, Seungkwan and Woozi are in the vocal unit
Vernon, Wonwoo and Mingyu are the hip hop unit and scoups, the leader, is not in this cause of an acl injury.
I forgot the timestamp but in vernons +scoups verse before the first chorus they actually imitate the musical elements mentioned (kick snare - drum bass - piano - bass line)
And behind them the members are actually referencing the point choreo from their previous comeback super, highly recommend that
I think in all their choreos doing curtain reveals to a smaller groups is quite reoccurring
33:02 they actually said that this choreo was quite tiring because they have to keep up the energetic happy vibe and feeling but they also joked about how it's because they're getting old
For choreos I recommend im trying to do some iconic ones bu tit's hard to chose (also they have a pretty diverse discography)
    Super
    Fallin' flower
    HIT
    Mansae
Fear (sadly the official vid is moving camera cause I think all seventeen choreos jus thir different with it being still)
    Hot
    Home;Run
    Dont wanna cry
    Getting closer
Thank you so much for the reaction, it was really interesting!

One thing about seventeen choreographies is that they always are so in-pocket with the concept of the song. With this one in particular, the song talks about how if there is a God of Music, seventeen would thank them for how music brings people together. This can be seen with how they often point up or look up during the choreography, as if they are addressing the God of Music. (see 2:35 and 32:48)

I’ve been watching your SWF2 reactions- and so as a Carat, im pleasantly surprised with a SEVENTEEN reaction!! Thank you! 😊
Just facts on the top of my head:
    - SEVENTEEN actually has 13 members, but one (the leader) had an ACL injury and had to sit this one out
    - one of the main choreographers for this dance is Choi Youngjun, the sub-leader of 1Million in Street Man Fighter. He is SEVENTEEN’s main choreographer for almost ALL their songs except 3-4 songs
    - SVT has 3 sub-units: Vocal, Hiphop, and Performance Team (5, 4, 4 members respectively). The formation in the beginning of the song is the arrangement of the units, with the Vocal unit at the center. The Performance Team members themselves are also choreographers for SEVENTEEN’s songs alongside Choi Youngjun
That’s all I can think of for now~Thank you again for this reaction and I hope you react to more of SVT, cuz their discography is so diverse, and thus their dances as well.
FYI your new set-up looks great, and arguably better as well! 😊

Shucks! Thank you so much! I've been slaving away at my workplace for so long and I needed to be figure out a way to be able to work at both spaces and I finally was able to make that happen! My roommate knows how to decorate a space haha!

Another fun fact, it is generally agreed upon that SVT popularized the "knife-like" synchorized dancing among big kpop groups... And this wasnt by design, but because of predebut Hoshi taking the performance leader position. SVT has said that when they learn a choreo, they usually get the steps downthe first day, then perfect the synchronization on the 2nd day, and they just need to breath in the same direction and they already know their angles... Being synchronized is basically in their nature now...

You'll be amazed how versatile and talented they are. They can pull-off any kind of concept.
In my humble opinion, they are the best kpop group when it comes to dancing.
They are all-rounders, visuals and great performers. They're not called as the "theater kids of kpop" for nothing...
      Pls check out

Every dancer who's interested in checking kpop out needs to see some seventeen choreos, I think you'll love them. Some personal highlights for me (disclamer im not a dancer haha)
Hot (just a personal fave, no particular reason but i think it'd be a good contrast for god of music)
Super (this one has a megacrew, they had more than 200 dancers for the mv, the dance practice is for the performance so it doesn't have quite so many but still)
Falling Flower (this one is so beautiful omg, it looks like it's animated some times idk how to explain it)
24 hr (this one of fully in circular formations)
Pretty U (this one has a couch! Very theater, there's a dance practice from the front and one from the back, ypu don't have to watch them both but i think it's cool)
Also a little add in, hoshi has a solo! It's called spider and it kicks ass, just in case you're interested. (He has another one called tiger too and it also is awsome just throwing it out there, i know it's a lot)
Also! Lilili Yabai is a performance unit song so it only has 4 members, it's really intricate and beautiful and i think it's harder than most seventeen songs, though like i said I'm not a dancer so take that with a grain of salt.

seventeen's unique and seamless ways of transitioning between features and highlighting each member is something i've heard other dancers praise them for as well. it's one of those things as a non-dancer that i didn't notice until i watched other groups' dance routines and found myself getting confused about what member is singing or where i'm supposed to look. i rarely if ever have that confusion when watching svt, which i think is really a testament to their choreography. also my top two recommendations for interesting choreography are 24H and thanks! (if you like waves i think you'll appreciate thanks)

I hope you get a chance to check out their previous works. I think Seventeen really shines in selling the message and tone of the songs as well as formations and cleanliness. This one is more of a happy and mellow, "music is the language that brings us all together" message so I think that lends itself to this choreo being more approachable, relaxed and doable for the average fan. My PERSONAL favorite Seventeen choreos are Thanks (lots of contemporary type movements and great pictures), fallin' flower and 24H (talk about formations and selling a theme), Aju Nice/Very nice (CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN), Super (a massive mega crew performance with 200+ dancers), Don't wanna Cry (floorwork, musicality, variety), Getting Closer (intensity). Also there is one member missing in this. S.coups (the leader) is recovering from an ACL injury and surgery. He is walking again, but obviously dancing is off the table for a WHILE so he isn't participating in promotion for this album but was in the MV.
Thank you for taking the time to react to this!

I won't reiterate what all the other comments have said but I can also not recommend Seventeen enough, I think that you would really enjoy diving more into their choreos because in my opinion they're one of the most versatile groups in k-pop both in concepts and choreos (in terms of formations, props, textures, etc etc). Also i can't stress how much i LOVE how they utilize all their members and their usage of transitions in some of their tracks are actual masterclass level to my amateur eyes (Don't Wanna Cry and Super especially come to mind for that). Thanks so much for all the reactions you've been putting out!! I've really enjoyed watching your SWF reactions as well!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I am already feeling much better about working from home and I'm not stuck in a car for so long commuting haha! I will definitely be checking out SEVENTEEN more in the upcoming weeks/months (Patreon is helping with this due to a poll I put out there haha) so stay tuned on that end!

Seventeen have a nice mix of super fun choreos and intricate dramatic choreos as well. It really depends on the song. Some of their intense choreos have been Don't Wanna Cry, Getting Closer, Hit, Super, etc. Now their fun choreos have been Adore U, Mansae, Pretty U, Snapshoot, etc.

Oh my... I love how detailed you go into your dance analysis.... ❤ This is my first time watching your video... ❤
As a carat, what pains me about this being your first SVT dance analysis is because: there's 13 of them, not 12... Huhu... This is the only dance practice video of SVT where the injured member couldn't participate at all.... Scoups has a leg surgery. So Scoups part nobody really covers too, to make way for when he does come back to perform with them... ❤
According to their dance trainer, SVT is a group that has been trained in various dance styles since their pedebut... They have stayed with the same performance director and choreographer for almost their entire career.... ❤
If you're looking to checking their other dance practices, hope you would consider looking into: Rock With You, Fear, Hit, Ready to Love, Thanks, etc... ❤
    And Hoshi's Spider... ❤

It pains me because SCOUPS is my bias and one of my favorite dancers in SVT... this type of dance of theirs would've been his genre because of how he moves...

Also among their earliest choreos, Mansae is one of my fave which shows how rookie svt came out of the oven, being very authentically the originator of freshteen in kpop... 😂

Oooh... I'd also recommend Left & Right ... and Clap is another iconic choreo... ❤ It's one of their best concert choreos....

Other Carats have probably already said what I want to say so I'm just commenting to thank you for reacting to their dance practice, if you're planning to react to more of them then you're in it for treats, they are the best when it comes to dancing.

Seriously, I've never seen such a detailed and informative dance practice analysis for kpop. You have such a gift of teaching. I loved it. 🥰 Thank you
Being a carat, I have one more request. I didn't see my favorite. It's a Japanese track--Call Call Call. Amazing dance.
PS I really like that shade of green.

Also if ever you would be reacting to more SVT:
Let me list down the members accdg to how i usually see dancers rate them based on their dance techniques:
1)Dino -main dancer/choreo, top tier dancer in general
2)Hoshi -main dancer/choreo, top tier dancer in kpop
    3)The8 -bboy/choreo
4)Jun -perfomance unit/martial arts background (almost all SVT has martial arts black belts from predebut)
5)Woozi -main producer, almost performance unit, lead vocalist
    6)Vernon -rapper, almost performance unit
7)Scoups -general leader, rapper, vocalist, i love him as a dancer, excellent stage presence
8)Wonwoo -rapper, also a vocalist, excellent stage presence and body control
9)Jeonghan -vocalist, beautiful dancer, main visual (they're all visuals pls), excellent stage presence
10)DK - main vocalist, such a stable and strong dancer, excellent stage presence
11)Mingyu - rapper, also a vocalist, the main visual of all main visuals, excellent stage presence
12)Joshua -vocalist, still a good dancer, variety king
13)Seungkwan -main vocalist, still a good dancer, variety god!

I'd love to see your reactions and analysis to Getting Closer, Liili Yabai, Fallin Flower, 24h, and Hoshi's studio choom.

So fun fact: I have technically reacted to ALL of seventeens choreographies at this point (including all of the ones you suggested!) and they are all ready to be binged on Patreon! They will slowly come out as the group has comebacks in the future, but who’s stopping you from watching them now 😂
