I would like to thank all of you for the work that goes into all of your entertaining broadcasts! I watch while on the treadmill in attempt to train for a Run Disney event. I would like to say though, regarding this particular broadcast, a point was brought up about the resort decorations being up too long. I actually joined DVC last month after visiting with my family on January 4th. The fact that the decorations were still up was a factor. My spouse and I are public servants and it is required that we are on duty during the holidays. Our children have endured many holidays without us there. Knowing that I can take them on a fabulous vacation and get some of that holiday time back is a great feeling. Sure, we are not all together on Christmas day, but we are able to know, when we feel lonely without each other that we will have our own Christmas later.........when the parks aren't so crowded. :) Again, thank you so much for all you do. Your work is candid and informative, entertaining and I look forward to each episode.
We LOVE the Boardwalk! The style and atmosphere are cozy and at the "big" Disney resorts that's hard to come by. The rooms are very, very comfy and the bathrooms seem better than some others around the World. The Lobby? It just plain amazes me that they are able to do as much as they do in what doesn't FEEL like a looming huge hall as so many of the others do. And FLYING FISH is just plain GREAT! AMazingly good food and variety, super wine list. Our server was from a lady from Ethiopia who'd come to Disney to work in the Italy pavilion at EPCOT and stayed when she got the Flying Fish job and was VERY well informed. The proximity to EPCOT is certainly a plus. We had one of the "inside" (not on the walk) rooms and could watch the fireworks from EPCOT. This has become our number one choice for these and so many reasons--and the staff was exceptional. Love it. Too bad Cat Cora's is gone--they did a VERY good breakfast and I wonder if the new Italian place will continue that? I hear Flying Fish is being remodeled and the little Candy store next to it turned into a magician-themed bar. Should be fun.
I'm really enjoying listening to the reviews of the resorts. Thank you for all of the work that goes into it.
I have one comment about what you said about the Christmas decorations. Christmas doesn't actually end until January 6 (called Three Kings Day, Epiphany, etc. depending on your culture). Many think the twelve days of Christmas starts before Christmas day but that's not true. You start counting the twelve days of Christmas after Christmas day. I think it's nice that Disney doesn't take them down until then but I understand not all agree; especially since Christmas decorations start to come out so early now. In our house the decoration never come down until Jan 7, but trust me, by the 7th they go because it's time.
lmgoblirsch I
Russian Christmas isn't until January 7th....
I love Craig's sarcasism and he uses logic in rating these places. I didn't really like how Pete seems to always think he's right and doesn't like when other comment with humor but he can drag these places through dirt when he wants to. Listen, I love DIS unplugged but I also love Craig's insight so can he please crack jokes without Pete always correcting him. You get the spotlight enough and no one corrects you. Don't worry Craig I'm listening and I agree with you the most of everyone! :)
Agreed
Stopping the video to say...Pete I was laughing so hard at your description (and your "moves") in talking about the Dance Hall. *wiping my eyes* HAHAHAHA - thanks for the early morning humor! - - And Justin's comment about some of the dinty arcade areas; Disney will end up turning them into only an ATM machine. :D hahaha
The chairs by the fireplace are called nanny chairs they were usually on the carousel so the nannies could sit and watch the kids
In my tour of Disney restaurants, I've eaten at Flying Fish. I totally agree with the panel's assessment. great food, with Disney's magically-customary strict attention to my dietary needs. Will definitely go there again.
Thanks for this, just booked this resort based on your review, helped end my turmoil over the three hotels on Crescent Lake.
Regarding the Christmas decorations, traditionally you are supposed to keep your decorations up until Epiphany which typically falls on January 6th (the 12 days of Christmas). Plus also I really enjoy having my holiday decor up later anyways because I enjoy the festive cheer-vibes it gives
We LOVE Big River grill!! Never had a bad experience!
Great review guys. I stayed there last year and had a great time. Next time i'm at Disney this is where I am going to stay again. #lovejellyrolls
another great review guys. I was debating staying at the boardwalk or the grand but this review has helped me decide. It looks like an entertaining place to stay.
We loved the 1940's music that followed us throughout the Boardwalk Hotel. It has been a while since we stayed there...I hope when I visit again that is the same. That pool clown is creepy. ..but my kids did love it. The downside of the Boardwalk was no INSIDE quick serve.(especially when raining) Maybe that has changed
Speaking about the Atlantic Dance Club, perhaps it could be converted to a comedy club, at least a few nights a week.
Just to note the Big River Grille is a chain. They have another location in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Great place!
Not sure if the 1 or 2 bedroom villas have been updated but the DVC studios have been updated. New flooring, bathroom sink/mirror, drapes, wall color, bedding, TVs, additional 5th person Murphy-type bed etc
Best job EVER!!!
Hey there y’all! I’m trying to decide where we should stay on our 25th Anniversary trip in 2021. I really trust your reviews and would love to see an updated one of boardwalk and beach club. 😊
I've never been to the Boardwalk Resort. I was a little surprised it was a beautiful as it was. How often do you guys do these hotel reviews? Every 2-3 years? I love watching these and the ones of the different restaurants around WDW. Great job!
I was genuinely surprised to hear Pete say he likes the theme here! Even though it's representative of a bygone era, being from NJ this resort seems too, I don't know, familiar? to me. Okay, it's not Sleazeside, but it does remind me more than a bit of Wildwood/Cape May. That and the clown that scares the bejesus out of me put this place at the bottom of my list.
My question is that, when are you guys going to do 7 in 7 review of the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the other resorts to from each category from value (pop century) , moderate ( for example Caribbean beach), and deluxe including deluxe villas too. I did see the video for the Wilderness Lodge 7 in 7 however, I do have the other resorts that you guys are talking about on my watch list on youtube.
Their pool is so creepy!!!!
I forgot to mention I don't have a Twitter account Twitter doesn't work for me very well but however, I do have a Facebook account. You can keep in touch with me there if you wish on the DIS unplugged fan page as another one of my liked pages on my facebook.
JenniLynn sure does like to get rid of her kids!! lol
Pretty pony
How can I get this job!?
It's pronounced 'twahl', JL! ;)
Loved Jelly Rolls - would go back again (no question)...but, it did dampen the mood a BIT that you only get your request played if you put money in (hint: make it a $20). That seemed excessive after the cover charge. Requests without tips (even at the slower times - early in the evening...oh, you might as well have sent in a complaint. Nothing was going to happen.)
Mc Kenna Nobody works for free. Remember that next time you go out to an establishment where the workers are making tips, because that means they’re usually relying on them to make their living. If tipping is too much of a strain for you, you should stay home and save your money for another time when you can actually spend something to go out and be catered to. Try going to a bar with a DJ and ask them to play your requested song for free or for a couple measly dollars and see how fast your song gets played. Much less people who are actually performing.
If you don’t have the money to tip or it’s going to be hard for you to part with $20 - STAY. HOME.
This video really helped me and my BF decide to stay here over Fort Wilderness. My question is though, since the boardwalk is a destination onto itself, does that mean you can catch rides to other hotels to and from here?
Jorie Von Ohlen None of the buses run from one resort to another. But you are within walking distance of the Beach, Yacht Club Resorts, and Swan and Dolphin.
Ok, we have reservation at senaa and I'm trying to figure out how we get back.
You will have to bus to a park and then to your resort.
I guess I don't get it, it seems that it makes it rather difficult for anyone not using the Epcot resorts to explore the boardwalk itself.
Despite being the location of popular attractions it is still a resort. Driving is always a possibility but if you want go from one resort to another you need to transfer.
Why does Dustin get to always get to talk when no one else is allowed
and i swear she hates Kathy
I really like the show and the info, but JL get on my nerves. not the way she talks but that she talks. Breaking in to tell that Boardwalk doesn't have a place to pawn her kids off, but yet go though this big spill about how much the kids love it there and there is so much to do. oh by the way she always so quick to correct someone. so here's one for ya. its a "resort" not a "restaurant"
David Thacker you are cracking me up
David Thacker It seems like a lot of people bash her because they’re triggered by something else about her. Probably because people tend to get a weird animus towards anyone even moderately attractive. Sorry but she’s not annoying, the people like you who rudely comment about her with no basis are in fact the annoying ones.
