Baystate blue! Just wow! It resembles the blue colour of powdered lapis lazuli (ultramarine) that was used by the reniassance painters. It really stands apart when you write with it, and is just eye catching. I think It is best used in fine nibs, just to reduce the bleed through.
Blue is a colour definitely lacking in my ink collection, any of these would be a great place to start! Diamine Blue Velvet sure is grabbing my eye here.
Can I ask you what you are using for a dip pen? That seems to work out really nice. I have a glass dip pen that I hate, can’t control the flow of the ink at all. Also, loving these blues❤Great idea to use that metal cup for the swatches.
Beautiful selection. Some I coincidentally have in recent sample vials, patiently waiting, others already on a future list. I would replace here Marine with either Pelikan Edelstein Topaz (close to kon peki, a tiny bit lighter) or Visconti blue.

Good point! At the time of the video, I didn’t know serenity blue existed! So now I have a bottle and will most likely include it in a blue inks 2.0 video. :)
Which one would you say is the most wet? I’m usually a medium nib, but wanted to try fine. So I got Platinum 3776 in soft fine. It’s a little scratchy for my taste. So was hoping to compensate with a very wet ink. I’ve tried Diamine Royal Blue. It’s still a little too dry for my taste. But it works beautifully with1911L with medium nib
@@lianelikes I have heard so many great things about the Kakuno especially smooth writer at a great price you wouldn't have a heart attack if you lose it. Do you have an ear cleaning bulb to flush out your sections?? You can buy them in most pen stores with pen flush which you will need.
I like that your videos are at the correct color temperature. Much more real to life than most! Great job!!
I appreciate that feedback! I do my best to represent these colors well!
Noodler’s makes an exclusive ink for Dromgoole’s in Houston called Blue Bonnet
So pretty! What a wonderful resource you'll have when the pages are full!
That’s the plan, thanks!

Yes, absolutely! I have yet to ink it up in a pen(!) and I will probably use in an EF nib, based on your recommendation.
Thanks for swatching !!! 😁😁
Of course!
Bay State and Fire and Ice for the win! So beautifully presented, Liane.
Thanks so much, Derek! Appreciate the support. :)
Very nice video: I really like the way you use the stainless steel measuring cup to swatch the inks. Very clever! Subbed!
Awesome, thanks for the sub and support!
@@lianelikes The very best of luck to you!
Your swatch videos are very pleasant to watch. I hope you have a nice day.
Thanks, I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying them!
I’m hoping to get the Benu Euphoria Early Grey for Christmas this year, so these are perfect to compare for matching the blue flecks in that pen! 😊
Bay State is an incredible color my favorite …. But oh yeah, it kills whatever it touches so be careful - a dangerous blue :)
I've yet to officially ink up my sample in a pen, so I'll definitely be careful when I do!
Very, very nice presentation. RS. Canada
Hi RS, thanks for your comment, I do my best!
Summer storm is delightful.
Loved this video

Totally, Blue Velvet is such a rich color!

Thanks Holly! It’s a pre-owned antique glass dip pen I bought on eBay about 6 months ago, more info is in the description box.
Thanks the swatch of BSB with the other light blues. It is conparable to PI Asa Gao, so I can skip it, too much hassle dealing with BSB.

Thanks, Philippe. I have yet to try Topaz and Visconti blue, thanks for sharing!

Why not include Waterman Serenity Blue?

What paper did you use to swatch out your colors?
Hi Cate, I swatched on Tomoe River paper in my Hobonichi plain notebook (A5 size)!
How did they look when completely dry? 💙
Good question, I’ll post a photo of the pages on my IG account @lianelikes

I really recommend Pilot Iroshizuku inks, wonderful flow!
@@lianelikes - just took the plunge and dipped it into Baystate. This will forever have Baystate blue in it. No going back now...
Baystate for the win. Way too saturated ever to shade. BLUE. Put it in a pen you don't mind staining, like one that's opaque.
Totally. Have yet to ink it up in a pen, I will probably ink it up in a Platinum Preppy!
Use a cheap pen dedicated only to it!!
Sounds good! Then a platinum preppy or kakuno, it is!
ALERT!!! Dont use baystate blue in any of your pens!! It will ruin it it its staining doesnt come of with anything!!
Duly noted! Maybe I can reserve this ink for a Platinum Preppy or Kakuno?

Yes, I do! Thanks to Goulet Pens :)
