    I love your offroading videos, the favourite bits for me are the ones where you're having some sliding fun on gravel roads. I really, for whatever reason, might be a rally type of guy. You've reviewed so many fun trucks in the past couple months I really start to dig those and wish we had access to them in Europe at reasonable prices. I totally wouldn't mind daily driving those and take them through some forest roads on a long way back home from a grocery store.

    Having grown up in South Africa, off-roading was a pretty big thing there and this Canyon/Denali would have been considered a large bakkie (bakkie is pronounced bucky). We didn't have any GM offerings from the early 1980s, so the market was largely Toyota's Hilux, Isuzu's KB and Frontiers, Ford Courier/Ranger and Mazda B-Series, with Mitsubishi's Colt arriving in the 1990s. We didn't have too many luxury-oriented 4x4 pick-ups around like this - this sort of spec would be more found in SUVs like the Toyota Landcruiser Prado, Land Rover Discovery and Mitsubishi Pajero. So, it's pretty cool for me seeing something different.

    It's actually honestly not strange that you don't get the side step in the rear. This is supposed to be an offroader, and the side step is going to eat away at your break away angle, which would be less then ideal.

    What happens to the US industry? Their executives seem to come from Italy, they do everything of poor quality and unreliable.
    The Japanese from Mazda have put a small 6 cylinder diesel in their new road suv and chevrolet put a 4 cylinder in an off road product?

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated Год назад

      Are you dumb? What Mazda does has absolutely no affect on what GM does on any new product especially any truck. There isn’t a single thing the Asians could teach or tell GM about trucks. New Toyota Tundras are actually the trucks that have been unreliable because of issues with the TT V6, and quality control issues like loud rattles, badges applied backwards, etc. Check their forums. GM’s quality is superb and quality is up they’ve made major improvements over the last decade and their latest vehicles have been reliable because of it. I’ve owned them personally.

    • @DragonKnightX12
      @DragonKnightX12 Год назад +1

      Quite the opposite here. GM overbuilt the hell out of this engine, and engineered a turbo with borg warner that delivers low end torque like a diesel. It's been in the half-tons for a minute, and people have reported easily reaching 120K miles with towing.
      It also makes more power than that Mazda.

    You keep complaining about the rocker guards not being good steps. That's because they aren't meant to be steps. If you want something to step on when entering or exiting the truck, then remove the rock guards and install some actual steps and quit bitching about it.

      Bingo. It is criminal that GM made a truck this cool.... and dropped the option at least... for a V6. Stopped me from seriously looking at them. They bring back the V6 option... maybe I'd take another look. I don't care if it's got 900 HP. it's a turbo 4 that sounds like a Japanese sowing machine.

      This is the ultimate “don’t hate the player, hate the game” moment. It’s just how launches work. They set an embargo. I actually waited a week after the embargo lifted for this one so if you want to complain about it, I’m probably the last one to vent to. It shouldn’t ruin your day though. Get out. Take a walk.

    Hope those dssv shocks have been improved over the ones on the last gen zr2 even though they look identical. Theyre a crappy shock. They work well when theyre new, but they tend to fail with some mileage. They leak, shafts bend, they rip shafts out of the eyelet or shafts just snap in half. Theyre not rebuildable either. 5 to 600 bucks to maybe get 10k miles before issues is terrible. King, Fox, Icon, ADS, Radflo make much higher quality shocks that can be tuned and rebuilt cheaply. That said I love the look of this new GMC AT4x. Ill be keeping my '19 Colorado zr2 Duramax until I find a decent deal on an at4x in the future.
