I just picked one of these up and it was set up perfectly out of the box. The quality feels so much better than anything else in its price point. A MIM strat doesn't even come close. I'm glad there's one company still giving a good value instead of just living off their name.
I received my SE CE24 today. I'm a tech, and I don't know if I got just lucky or if SE factory has upped their game, but the neck was perfectly straight, the bridge was floating correctly, the fret end were smooth, the tuners held tune as good as any locking tuners I've used, the finish was amazing, the fretboard had a nice dark piece of rosewood with precise pearl bird inlays, the neck joint was really comfortable and the back was smooth satin, the action was 4/64 on low E and 3/64 on the high E strings at the 12th fret, the pickups sound good for a variety of music (although I'm gonna put an old pair of HFS/ Vintage Bass pups from an early 90's CE24), the nut is cut great -not too high or low. The setup was professional. I'm really surprised. I'm really happy too! Can't wait to order the Swamp Ash Special. After I roll the fretboard edges a little it will be perfect. I love my early 90's CE24'S, but this is a GREAT guitar on its own. The frets were even level! They must have mastered making guitars at PRS Indonesia factory!
Thanks a lot Bryan. This video decided me to buy that guitar (after watching several of them), with black cherry colour. Good sound, very confortable and easy to play.
If I knew this was coming I may have gotten this instead of the US one I got this year. But I really can’t complain. The CE that I play is just wonderful. Sounds great, plays great and the trem stays in tune better than a lot of Floyd’s I’ve played.
I love satin necks and I love my USA CE24 Semi-hollow. I'd been kicking around the idea of a solid body but I might try the SE version instead at less than half the price.
I'm currently saving cash for SE model, I've got my eye on a couple of models to test out....but dam it PRS!! Another new SE...making my choice beautifully difficult 😂
What I love about Prs, Best guitars made today at any price point Hands down. Brian is probably one of the Best players alive today….the rest of us Suck 😂
I played mine for the first time yesterday. Great looking guitar. The neck heel is 10000000% home run! Tones are great and super easy to play. I also have a US CE24; there is a significant and yet totally appropriate difference between the two. The only knock that I’ll give the SE is that the fretwork and fretboard edges are a noticeable downgrade from my other PRS SE guitars. While it’s certainly on par with Fender’s Mexican guitars, prior to this, I’d cite the fretwork and fretboard edges as areas where PRS SE’s beat the Fendexicans. Not so much now. It’ll wear in over time I’m sure, though.
It's my opinion that it gives the guitar a brighter tone. When I was trying PRS's to find my first one I bought the CE over the other cores because of the brighter sound.
Can someone explain to me why the SE CE has a neck made of two pieces of maple glued together if it is bolt on? Saving on wood and cutting costs at this price? I don't get it.
To make a neck with an angled headstock from a single piece of wood requires a much bigger piece of wood. Two smaller pieces glued together is a LOT cheaper to make. For a maple neck this works great, not so great for a mahogany one though which I why Gibson headstocks fall off if you even look at them the wrong way.
I just returned my PRS SE CE 24 TU. Quality control was either drunk or asleep when my guitar left the factory :( That said, it was a beautiful guitar.
Like the neck joint! Price is perfect and leaves room for upgrades like locking tuners. A semi hollow would be AMAZING but I see nothing to complain about or nit pick over at all. And Ive been playing vintage CE24'S for at lesst 15 years. Love the early 90's alder/maple bodies, neck shape, HFS/VINTAGE BASS PUPS...
I love PRS guitars and have three myself. But the reluctance of doing a 24 fret guitar with a stoptail really blows my mind. I will take my PRS Core Mira to the grave it seems.....
Looking at Squier and Epiphone pricing, I see no reason not to give the these new PRS guitars a shot especially for a sweet 20 percent discount. Just ordered one in vintage sunburst. Have never even seen one in person let alone hold or play one so this should be interesting. ✌🎸
I think the reason why many people don't like the aesthetic of prs is because the finishes are often too elaborate or strange. Adding models with colors like pure white or black would be a game changer
Huge CE fan. Love the originals (I own two CE-22), the version from the S2 line dissapointed me in its appointments and finish compared to the mid 2000 ones. The SE line feels like the right place for the model. The new joint looks excellent, as well does the overall presentarion. Lack of locking tuners are a bit annoying, and the pickups are boring, but fortunately those things can be fixed. Might pick up a used one some day and kit it out!
@@lordgragaand what does that have to do with the fact that it's not a s2? Wait, I get it now. The silver sky must be a s2 then as well , and the S2 85 15 pups must be the same as the US 85 15 as they are installed In the same factory.
I agree! I don’t see the ‘wonderfully comfortable access’ in adding a chunk of wood in the way of your palm and thumb. They basically made a Fiore, not a CE
@@j3xh the neck joint and silhouette of the cutaways look just like a silver sky. I feel like they took that platform, made it look like a custom and called it a CE and said close enough for our new cheapest SE

@@globalprofits101 It looks like the American PRS CE also has a neck made of two pieces of maple. Apparently, by gluing two pieces this way, the neck becomes harder to break. I understand gluing a neck made of mahogany like this, but maple? For me it's obvious cost cutting on wood. I'd rather buy a Fender.
Beautiful instrument; but for me right off the bat from the first note - compared to the non bolt on prs - sounded flat and underwhelming; there is no comparing the two in my book, having purchased two custom single body neck prs santana models previous.
I want to say to Prs : If you want to sell even more guitars you should over more variety. Make a classic superstrat model. 1 humbucker, 1 single volume knob, a non recessed floyd rose. I know so many guys who want a classic looking guitar but with superstrat specs with non recessed floyds. I would buy a CE or a custom 22 with a classic early 80's superstrat spec.
@@the86willson I have a curtain expectation of PRS as someone who has owned many core PRSs, had many on 2 Dragons, one the first 25 PRSs, been to the factory several times, etc. SE locking tuners should be standard because of the value added to the line and brand. I think PRS is the model of what an American guitar company should be. Just great work.

Thank you PRS for including satin finish on your necks! Beautiful guitar and sounds great especially with Bryan playing.

Great video as always Bryan.
I just ordered mine, (in Dark Cherry). Arrival by Tuesday, and I can hardly wait!
Crazy! The SE line keeps getting better.
If bryan isn't doing these reviews I'm not watching! Love your playing man! 🤘🏻🔥
LOVING THIS guitar!
Brian Ewald is one of THE demo guys on yt. 🙌🏻
With the revival of a whole bunch of models, imagine if a new SE One was in the works🔥
The satin neck is half the reason I bought my CE!! you gotta show it off more
I just hope we get the fire red burst or the faded smokehouse blue colors on these SE version sometime in the future.

After seeing the heel I’ve changed my mind. I prefer the OG heel-free neck join into a long neck tenon. This is not a good change IMO

What we really want is a CE 24-08
I’d buy that and a McCarty (stoptail) 22-08 in a heartbeat
That would be epic!
Wild West guitars had a run with the 24-08’s in them. With satin black finished necks. I have one!!

Probably next year's release
Still holding out for a SE Fiore! 🤞🏼
I’m thinking that it would be really cool to have PRS do this guitar with the Baggs piezo bridge in a semi hollow
Please do a 22 frets version of this😢
1:45 is this coming to US models as well?
I would like to know how the upper neck access is that heel joint seems massive. I have an american PRS CE and that had easy access for upper frets.
Please make a SE DW CE hardtail!

1) How does the neck feels compared to US CE 24 model and what about wheight of a guitar?
2) Is it much heavier compared to a US CE24?
