The level of production of this video is insane. And Riley really crushes it, as a dynamic host. Very impressive, I very rarely comment on anything, but I felt I had to, because of how high quality and polished this video was. It must have required a ton of work, thank you for this.
i love the contrast of high production and polish meshing with low cringe like a cardboard box for a trap lowered by a boom stick.
Totally agree. The editing and production are amazing. And I could listen to Riley's snarky delivery all day. Not sure if this is the right way to put it, but I've watched mainstream TV shows and cable documentaries that were a LOT worse than this.
You know who this is not fair to. It is not fair to Microsoft that was dragged over the coals in the late 90s for antitrust. While Apple and Google too much worse and get away with it.
Agreed, extremely well done. I went into it totally unaware that the lawsuit even existed, and this brought me up to speed and was entertaining.
I know these videos take a LOT more effort to make compared to your usual stuff, but this is the EXACT kind of content I love to see on RUclips. Well researched, and well presented video essays just like this. Hope there's more TechLonger to come, everyone did an absolutely amazing job with this one!

@@Interceptor The problem is Riley's production volume of these is abysmal. If Techlonger was it's own RUclips channel, it would be one of those you hear from maybe once a year and always wonder if the creator has given up before another phat video drops. But, throwing the full force of the LTT writing staff at Techlonger would certainly make them lose part of their charm. So instead they just toss them up here and enjoy some increased watch time for their metrics whenever he's able to squeeze one out.

Hoeg Law has been covering this on his channel since Epic has been banned from the app store, it's a lot of videos to watch but it's as indepth as it gets.

When you step back and look at this topic, it's sad to me that this is even up for discussion. I understand there many different (financial) interests at stake, but either we own our devices or we don't. Once purchased, people should be free to use things as they see fit, within the bounds of the law of course. It's infuriating that this is even up for discussion.
As I was helping to set up a family members laptop, I was floored by how pushy Windows 11 was with Edge. I was legitimately speechless. The only thing it accomplished was ensuring I disable Edge as much as I can, on as many devices I can (as the family 'techie'). It has me seriously considering running Linux on my next system.
I really hope we look back on this time, where unwanted apps require rooting your phone to remove them and website tracking is so obfuscated I've given up trying to stop it, the same way we do tobacco in the 50's; as archaic, boderline barbaric, and in utter disbelief with how the world used to be. One can hope at least.
TechLonger as a series is so much fun. The editing is very well done, quite different from LTT but in a good way.
TechLonger is my favorite tech content on RUclips. Period. I'd love to see it monthly or at least quarterly.

This is great! I loved every bit of this video. I want more of these occasional video-essay type TechLinked videos soon! (also give Riley a very dapper looking suit to look extra dapper for these higher budget episodes that would be cool and snazzy and possibly even cute???)
Definitely need to keep this series. Make it a once or twice a month thing.
Every month might be a bit grueling, these typically dont so well.
Riley also still has to manage the news and shooting it. Also some scripts for the main channel and the movie podcast. I enjoy them also mind you! Id take once every 2 months if amicable
I think it would make sense to only do this when an event like this happens. A lawsuit of this size doesn’t come along very often.

I like the sentiment but you are vastly underestimating the amount of work that goes into this, I don't think they could do this twice a month without bringing on more staff specifically for this.

1 last thing the editing on this video was insanely good. It is easy to edit shot to shot to shot, but this had a range of mixed edits in it and the sound was well edited together and ran really well. Good job

While that was going on, I found it so hard to parse, but this "short" video really helped with my understanding of the who, what, and most importantly, the WHY. Exceptionally well made and informative. I'd love more of these style of videos!

TechLongers are the perfect combination of well produced and researched journalistic content that modern tech media needs! I know the view rate starts out slower than the regular bite-sized, lower commitment TechLinked videos, but the View:Like and View:Comment ratios on this one, and the previous performance of the Star Citizen one over time, make me feel confident it'll do just fine.
