@@davidray4128Sadly, America is broken. On an almost daily basis there is footage of yet another city or state overrun with drug addiction.
Tourisn has collapsed. I'm in Europe and we've had many reports stating that it is dangerous to visit there. We are also seeing a barrage of ads telling us to holiday in America. The answer is a resounding no.
The US is a third world country. Trump did nothing for 4 years, especially during Covid, which spread and killed on his watch. Republicans won't address the issue at all. It's time to elect a strong willed Democratic government, and demand that they send the army in to calm this disaster. They want many rehab facilities to be built or established in the millions of empty warehouses around the country. Until then, nothing will attract visitors.

I started doing drugs since my teenage. Got addicted to heroin, spent my whole life fighting heroin addiction. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. What wealth inequality and an apathetic federal, local, and state government looks like. Even worse countless "reforms" have been tried but the reality is the money allocated to helping these "types" of people is almost ALWAYS embezzled. Legitimate charities like the Salvation Army get overrun. Affordable housing almost always gets blocked or bought out by major investment groups. In the end nothing EVER gets done. If you want an even more brutal pill to swallow. This is the end result of shipping hundred of thousands of jobs oversea's. Every economist will chime in and say this or that. But removing a source of livelihood ALWAYS hurts the neighborhood.
They just don't care because they don't live there.

I live about 2 hours away from Philly… There’s a reason those of us who don’t live in the city call it “Filthadelphia”… I’m sure you can all understand why now. And that was BEFORE COVID. You couldn’t pay me enough to go anywhere near the city now. But even before that, all you’d see on the news were reports about people getting shot or stabbed, you’d see reports about drug use and how bad it’s gotten… I’ll never forget the week long report they did, this was back when I was 22 and I’m 51 now, about street vendors. The report happened to take place in Philly, but you should probably take it to heart about ANY city… They set up cameras to see what these street vendors were doing and they caught all manner of disgusting things from licking the soft pretzels to get the salt to stick to them (no joke) to the guys going to take a leak behind bushes and either spitting on their hands and rubbing them together to wash them out just not washing them at all… after touching their private parts… And these aren’t real clean looking guys to begin with. I’ve been seeing too many horrifying news stories from there all my life. I’ve only been there a handful of times in my lifetime and I honestly don’t care if I never go back again.

Each time you inject anything, you put yourself at risk of diseases, limb amputations, and even an infection of the heart. I don’t see how someone can think that losing limbs and contracting diseases is worth a better high. I used to sniff my Suboxone every day instead of taking it sublingually. Drug addiction should be made illegal. The state has the responsibility to put all drug addicts in rehabilitation centers, with or without their consent. They may only be freed once they're clean and they have the support they need outside. They should even get probation time. Probation agents would basically act like sponsors. They'd make sure recently released addicts go to AA meetings and lead clean and productive lives. Bear in mind that illegal doesn't always mean criminal.
Drug addiction isn't a crime. The goal is to benefit society by helping addicts, not by giving them a criminal record and prison time. Making addiction illegal simply allows the state to arrest addicts and make rehabilitation mandatory. More money should be spent on rehabilitation programs and mental health resources. This actually ends up saving money because it reduces crimes and increases tax collection. Addicts pay more taxes when they're clean and have a stable job than when they're homeless and wasting their lives on drugs. The only criminals are the drug traffickers.
