It's OK, DW, I saw you removed my post, so I reposted it to hundreds of my Facebook friends and expanding its reach and content. Thanks! Here it is in it's entirety: In general, I think very highly of DW Documentary and their global reporting perspective, which is more balanced than US media outlets. However, this one got me because the feature is about a few wealthy upper middle class families that escaped Gaza in the days shortly after October 7, 2023. One of the people featured is a family man who has built a successful Turkish-styled restaurant, right outside of Shifa Hospital and he lost everything when Israel retaliated with missiles and bombs, restarting a new life and business in Cairo, but now dealing with a traumatized family . Good for him, but I wonder why he waited until hostilities literally took out his lifeblood and home before he acted on his better instincts. Did he not notice that for 16 years that Hamas was building tunnels and rocket launchers scattered throughout his neighborhood? Did he notice that Hamas had no civil defense plan to safeguard his family? Did he think: "Business is good, I'll build another restaurant right next to a Hamas military base"? What could go wrong? Did it concern him that Hamas offered him and his children no future, other than to build Hamas tunnels and his doner kebab empire to feed the local neighborhood radical islamists? Even if he hated Hamas everyday for 17 years, why didn't it occur to him to seek his refugee status in a safer city?
You need to know what Al Rimal is. It was a wealthy neighbourhood, populated by Hamas top members. There is zero chance he had a restaurant there and had something against hamas. He should had been very close to them to have a restaurant there.
They should care about birth control. If not, they will be poor whereever they go. A family in this region has six or more children. The mother can not work and the family has not enough income. A family should not have more than two children when the parents don't have money.
I find this fascinating how knowing some information changes such stories. A restaurant in Al Rimal? The most wealthy neighbourhood in Gasa, mostly populated by Hamas top members. A simple un-envolved person can't have a restaurant there. Neither can it pay for evacuation high bribes that Egypt demands. Most of those who speaks to media at least have Hamas or IJ among their close relatives or are members themselves. But no one in the media will even try to show this, although it is easy to check this in their social networks. If you remember that story about boy with daun sindrome - two of his brothers are openly in Hamas/IJ.
Palestians belong to palestine. If you look on the other side Israelis have banned DNA testing and you need a court order to obtain this I wonder why that is. 😅
Im confused. I thought Gaza was a prison, why do they miss and want to live in a prison? Why do they call a prison their home? The media needs to get their narrative in order
Are you a troll? Their life was in Gaza. Their families are still there. Besides, those who managed to escape were the one who had money. So they had comparatively a good life in Gaza. Gaza is considered a prison because it is heavily controlled by Israel : air, sea, water, sky, produces in and out, borders,... the development of Gaza is stiffled by Israeli controls and every two to three years, Israel used to "mow the lawn".
The Palestinians get aids and money from the Western governments, when they live in Gaza. If not, they will go to Germany and Europe to get welfare like many others from this region. The most immigrants who go to Germany are from Syrie, Turkey, Afghanistan, Irag, Marocco, Algerie, ... Only the Western and some Asian countries like Japan, South Corea, Taiwan can build democratic and rich countries. Israel is rich because it is a democratic country. Democracy and freedom of press are important. The governments get less chance to be corrupt and they must care more for their countries and their people. People in Israel get more help from the government of Israel(shelter, Iron Dom, welfare...) than the Palestinians from Hamas.
@@narutouzumaki6533 it’s past experiences with the Palestinian people, wherever you have too many Palestinian refugees the host country suffers! Ask the Kuwaitis, Lebanese or Syrians!
@michalveltrusky9633 yes you can't make up that children are drawing scenes they saw while living in Gaza that include their family members getting killed by Israel... that's what art therapy is.
Gazians are Palestinian citizens, not Egyptian citizens. Egypt does not have an obligation to take displaced people in unconditionally just because they are poor or suffering. Egypt like any other countries looks after its citizens. Egypt is not a charity.
No. Gaza belonged to Egypt after Egypt invaded Israel in 1948. Gazans even had Egyptian nationality between 1948-1967 and were stripped of their egyptian nationality afterwards

Since Gazans were given a chance to self govern in 2005 but chose war and the destruction of their neighbors. I am sad for them but I cannot have pity for them as they “played” and lost. They can play the victims (again) for uneducated westerners who know little and for journalists (so eager to dramatize a situation that they indirectly encourage themselves) Truth is that Gazans voted Hamas that declared to “destroy Israel” in 2005.
Since history dates well before 2005 (1917,48,56,67 for instance), this “uneducated westerner” isn’t buying your bilge. Try spelling genocide and get back to me.
In fact, you are a brainwashed to not know that Palestinians in Gaza were never been free. According to international law, Gaza is still under occupation after 2005 because putting 2 millions in a big prison, it not freedom or independancy. It is just another way of occupation
And you are just saying that Israelis the 7th October were responsible because who is supporting occupation, colonization, apartheid, blocus, ethnic cleaning and massacres of Palestinians since many years? Who voted for this Nazi government in Israel? You are just saying also that 2 million persons in Gaza are responsible for a vote committed in 2005. Do you know the number of young Palestinians in Gaza who were born after 2005?
These innocent people are not wasting a single word talking about Hamas who started the war and keep holding more hundred hostages till now...I have real doubt about their innocence

One of the main issues Egypt has with the Palestinians especially the ones in Gaza is the biggest threat to Egypt is the Muslim brotherhood which Egypt is trying to quash. Another big issue in Egypt is a ongoing insurgency in the Sinai. Gazans supported Hamas which is an offshoot for the Muslim brotherhood so importing 1-2 million Palestinians could bring in thousands of Hamas fighters who could oppose Egypt or try to take over the Sinai to wage their war against Israel. On top of that it would cost a lot of money to house and support these Palestinians and so there are way to many risks involved to just bring in 2 million Palestinians.

What about documentaries about Israeli wounded from Nova, Israeli kids with PTSD from Hamas killing their parents in front of their eyes, Israeli displaced from North and South, Israeli who fled the war to other countries? Why this particular video should change someone's mind? After all it shows wealthy people who were able to pay bribes to Egypt and free the war. Many aren't so lucky. Many died, much more are wounded. And the only reason for all this suffering is Hamas that started the war with clear intention to bring this suffer on their people while they will sit in tunnels in safety. Hamas ideology does not value lives of their people and quality of life. They are able to finish all this everyday - return the hostages and surrender. But then they will lose their power and wealth gained from oppressing their own people. No, they don't want this and wouldn't make anything to lower the casualties, the opposite. The more dead the more people will be on Hamas side. And I claim this because the result of being on Palestinian side is restoring Hamas, what is the opposite of Palestinians interests. So every action that allows Hamas to remain in power is being on a Hamas side, not on a Palestinians side. Israel gave them 19 years of self destruction under elected Hamas government, the moment that movement decided to bring its violence to Israel territory it wasn't their internal issue anymore. There will be no Hamas government of Gaza, for sake of Israelis and Palestinians.

Obviously you haven't studied the politics of Gaza and how Hamas got into power.

Israa Ali and the volunteers will go straight to heaven inshallah. I can't describe how moved I am seeing what you are doing for the children of Gaza ❤❤❤.
It's OK, DW, I saw you removed my post, so I reposted it to hundreds of my Facebook friends and expanding its reach and content. Thanks! Here it is in it's entirety:
In general, I think very highly of DW Documentary and their global reporting perspective, which is more balanced than US media outlets.
Why should they go from.their land?!Coz a thief stole it!
These people always get children like crazy, I agree. Goes for all of none-Europeans. No respect.
Elevating a family from poverty is a better alternative.
How exactly to you know that? Back up your claims. I'm waiting. Jfyi, the restaurant owner is an American citizen.

The most immigrants who go to Germany are from Syrie, Turkey, Afghanistan, Irag, Marocco, Algerie, ...

Blame Hamas
Since Gazans were given a chance to self govern in 2005 but chose war and the destruction of their neighbors.
I am sad for them but I cannot have pity for them as they “played” and lost.
They can play the victims (again) for uneducated westerners who know little and for journalists (so eager to dramatize a situation that they indirectly encourage themselves)
Truth is that Gazans voted Hamas that declared to “destroy Israel” in 2005.
Since history dates well before 2005 (1917,48,56,67 for instance), this “uneducated westerner” isn’t buying your bilge.

Well said!! Gaza & "Palestinians" keep starting wars & terrorism. Let them pay the consequences.
Blablabla
Why first attack on israel... from Hamas....
Viele Araber in Gaza sind Ägypter.Das bedeutet, dass sie jetzt in Ägypten zu Hause sind.
FFS just forbid all religion - problem solved!

We will, forever.
One side started the war on October 7th.
