Legally, Palestinians are entitled to the land recognized by the UN in 1948. Of course, Israel would never agree to that, but they could try to sacrifice something significant of the land they've taken since then from the Palestinians. Netanyahu has refused to fully negotiate for all hostages. He's using the war to avoid a trial on corruption charges he faced before the war.
