- The PROBLEM with mobile emulators… and how to fix it! 👀😈
As you probably know, Apple FINALLY allowed emulators on the App Store this past week and while this is an amazing way to experience your favorite retro titles on the go, the experience isn’t ALWAYS perfect.
Using something like a Backbone controller or even a Bluetooth console controller paired with the iPhone is a MUCH better experience and I definitely recommend trying it out.
If this tip was helpful, share it to someone else who might benefit from it! 🙏🏼❤️

Apple Users Experiencing the flaws of phone emulation for the first time. Fascinating.
It's like looking back in time
no man we could play emus before. we had altstore so we could install IPAs and with it, retro emulators
Nah I’ve used them before, was just a pain to sideload them
@@WalterMan yeah fr and to refresh them every week
Real Apple users have had emulators since the original iPod video days, we had no problems when we evolved to touchscreen back then.
Sure the ipod video may have had buttons but it was still wonky, touching and pressing did two different things, so having touch screen buttons back in the day was a godsend.
Apple: we got emulators
Android: 😐
Android has had emulators for 12 years at least at this point. And they work a lot better in Android. What's your point?

do people still argue about which is better? I own both and I really enjoy both OS in their own way. although I do have to say, now that I can emulate on my iphone, I have no need for a samsung. lol

As someone who used this emulator before it was on the AppStore, controllers are the way to go!
Thats hilarious, i thought you were gonna talk about an emulation problem unique for the iphone. Instead its complaining about the well known basic problems with phone emulation, because iphone is just now getting it which makes it a whole new concept for a lot of people. Hilarious, and fascinating.
As you said, controller accessories are good for this
The other BIG problem is iPhone emulators DO NOT have JIT (Just in Time) that means, we CANNOT have emulators for Wii/Gamecube games like Dolphin. also some emulators are glitchy because JIT makes the games use all of the power in your iPhone, but since we don't have it, some games will not perform well.
Just the ability to play those games got me and many of my friends interested in Pokemon as a whole. I used to play on my PC, but it was amazing to play on my first phone ever (handed down to me lol) even when outside. I'm glad Apple users who would've never considered to play those games have a chance to enjoy what I enjoyed years ago
It's like watching baby's first mobile emulation. I remember those days, welcome to emulation apple users. It took over a decade but you're finally here. Godspeed.
Took us long enough
It’s been on apple for at least 8 years. Tf are you talking about?
@@bigstackingduckxxx1030true. These Android tards love to brag about how 'advaned' Android is but then sh*t their paints if some process requires a bit more effort than pressing a single button. Probably the reason why all of them think sideloading emulators and other apps wasn't possible on iPhone for like forever.
not everyone knows about emulation, you know that, right? stop trying to act like you angry android meatriders are better than us 😒

I just so happened to have had those Razor phone controller adapters. Whenever I heard the emulator was dropping and I downloaded it, it’s actually really comfortable and enjoyable and easy to customize my buttons
Damn, it's almost like touch controls have been an issue for a while that there's many companies trying to capitalize on the phone controller market. I have iPhone controller from even before the had emulators. There's multiple games that allowed for controller support.
Only gripe with the delta emulator is the joystick. You have to swipe to register an input. Every other emulator I’ve used on android never had this problem
I didn’t know apple just allowed emulators!! Thanks man 😊
whenever i played games on the psp emulator (PPSSPP) i used my PS4's controller and it improved the game ALOT, i remember trying to play Soul Calibur Broken Destiny without it and it was not good at all, as soon as i connect the controller I start having fun.
I remember doing that with a Wii controller and android phone in 2010
subbed, this is exactly what I do and I love it.
Android could never 😂
(Yes this is a joke post)
Exciting to try out Earthbound and Chrono Trigger for the first time.
Fyi : If you have an iPhone 15 you can plug a controller with a dongle. It works.
Laughs in PPSSPP having customization on controls location, and extra buttons, and and touch/motion controls
i actually have a few controllers like:
8bitdo lite 2, a full featured pro controller with joysticks and everything, about the size of a king size candy bar? about 2/3 the length and 2/3 the width of my phone, similar thickness.
8bitdo nano 2, a controller with all of the GBA buttons (dpad, A, B, L, R, start, select) that's about the size of the face of... uhhhh .... a wristwatch? a fairly large keychain? slightly larger than my thumb, if you've got like a carabineer it's easy to have on your keychain or something.
both of those are paired to my phone, if I'm gonna be playing some NES/gameboy/GBA games, i can use the nano, if I'm planning on playing DS, SNES, N64, or PS1/PSP games then i'm gonna bring the lite 2 in my bag.
8bitdo is consistently the highest quality controller manufacturer when it comes to new controllers styled after retro controllers, centered around their dpad, consistently the highest quality dpad that most closely resembles what people loved so much about the SNES and PS1 dpads. can't recommend them enough, I've got like at least 10 different 8bitdo controllers because whenever they make a new model i always see it and am like "ooh, i need one of those too"
also if you want something between the lite and the nano, I don't have one so I can't vouch for its quality, but it looks like its build quality is the exact same as the lite gen 1 (which i have and is one of my favorite controllers, it's a full pro controller but both of the sticks are replaced with dpads), the 8bitdo micro? it's larger than the nano but still like 1/3 the size of the lite, and it's got ABXY, I'm not sure whether it's got 2 or 4 shoulder buttons, I'm not looking at the site rn, but it might be a smaller option for SNES and NDS games
I hated the thought of emulators when I was on Android and I still hate thought of emulators when I’m iOS. I tried emulators on PC and hated it too. I don’t see the hype for it but to each their own.
Emulators on pc are actually useful though. I do a lot of romhacking and emulators are a lifesaver for that.
I just learned I was living under a rock
Bro why does the Nintendo Pro controller look so tiny in your hands did no one else notice that!?
Welcome to emulation finding ROMS dealing with weird resolution having to configure things ETC is all a part of the process
Yeah I’m living under a rock fr
So now I would play Snake III that I used to play on my Nokia.
Honestly it's great that Apple is finally gave in to this. They should not have control over what people do on their devices, a phone should allow their user to do what they want so long as it's not destructive, so yeah I'm happy for you IOS Users especially those who used to be forced to Jailbreak just to install an Emulator, and now Y'all finally get to Experience Open source softwares as well which is always a win in my book.
The backbone uses usb c which tricks your phone into thinking its using the headphones. You cannot use your phone audio with the backbone. ONLY SOUND THROUGH BLUETOOTH OR AUX😮
Yeah I’ll keep playing on my dedicated hardware like Anbernic consoles.
It feels like I am watching 7 year old me whine to my dad that I cant beat megaman 2 on his phone.

"The problem with iPhone emulators"
You're saying that like emulators on other platforms with touchscreens doesn't have the same problems.
Delta > Retro Arch at least for me when it comes to playing DS games. I wish emulators on android had custom skins.
I really want a 3ds emulator, too bad that would be there soon
Retroarch is the best of them all. I just need Dreamcast and GameCube support and I’m set.

I connected my switch pro controller and a few others to play with an actual enjoyable controller and it is better but there is a lot of input delay

For real, especially since we’ve had touch based emulators since before Android even came out.
But it is what it is, all that matters is gamers being able to play what they want, on what they want, with who they want.
apple users are like cave men of emulation rn
You say that like none of us have emulated before on android pc ect obviously there’s gonna be people only just being introduced now same as there are people on android just realizing they can emulate on their phones it’s no so cut and dry not every android user has emulated for years and not every apple user is new to emulation this stereotyping BS is fkn m0ronic

Nah. Been sideloading emulators for years.
Before 2011, I’d jailbreak via Greenp0ison and easily played SNES, GBA and GBC games on my iPhone 4 and iPod touch.
Interesting fact- Android emulators are so advanced, you can use a PSVits emulator to emulate a PSP to emulate an NES and still have a great experience. Let us give an applause to Apple for barely emulating a GBA without JIT, which means bad DS performance on older iPhones.
3Ds*
It comes down to an issue with Apple devices being based on ARM architecture. That’s why you can’t do very good GameCube stuff yet on iOS, Apple isnt allowing the proper JIT conversion yet
An iPhone 6 can run a DS game at full speed without JIT. An iPhone 11 can run a DS game at full speed without JIT and a 3ds game at full speed with JIT. A 15 pro can run a 3ds game at full speed without JIT.
If Apple allows JIT in the app store, you will get better performance on iOS devices for emulators compared to their android counterparts.
iOS devs have been working on emulators since 2014. That explains why these emulators released so fast. It's just Apple stopping them with all these restrictions. iOS devs are already working on Switch Emulation.
@@WillBowersyou can very well emulate Wii on iOS. Just not installing via the AppStore. Been playing Mario galaxy at 3x res on 15 pm on DolphiniOS. Jit is the issue entirely, Apple not allowing jit on distribution certificates (AppStore/Testflight apps) is annoying. It’s only allowed in developer certificates which is for when using Xcode or tools like altstore/sidestore.
@@saiefjoy2906switch emulation is already been out. Look at folium x Sudachi. It’s just hard to run since iOS devices have less ram. My 15 pm was able to run odyssey pretty well though had some issues since it’s still new.
