Have the exact same problem with my 2010 Mazda 6 here in the UK. I eventually pinned it down to either the passenger side front or rear door. How that happened is interesting! One night I was taking a left hand corner at quite high speed and cornering load, and the interior light came on, this gave the hint that the doors on that side must have been moving due to body flex because the light went out after the usual door open courtesy delay. I also noticed it was induced by heat when the sun was on the car for a while. Now this vid has confirmed it I'll finally remove the door card and sort it out, so thanks.
Hopefully you were able to get this fixed. It's likely your door latch assembly which is a common failure but of course you need to determine which door it is. Mine just starting failing but fortunately never set my alarm off - I was just getting intermittent door open indication when the door was closed. Good news is that it said the driver's door was open so I knew which latch it was. Had that happened with the car was parked it would have set off the alarm. I just replaced the latch (a bit of a pain) and that seems to have fixed it - plenty of videos on this but they generally leave out a few details (buy extra door panel fasteners before you start). Good luck!
I'm using a BAFX bluetooth OBD2 reader with an old windows 7 laptop. Not sure if that reader is elm327, but its worked flawlessly with forscan and a bunch of other mobile apps.
It is super annoying when the car alarm goes off randomly. I found a note on my car last night to fix my car alarm, and it was signed the entire neighborhood. It was a very hot day, and I noticed the alarm did go off a lot more. I just unscrewed the hood latch sensor and left it hanging. Mazda 3 definitely makes it difficult to access these wires with all of these damn panels
@@JoeLapenna I am having the same issue and I took the horn out as well XD. Seems like a common issue with these second gens. Did you find the fix though ? My mechanic couldn't replicate it cause its very random :(
@KingOfOutpost When the doors get hot from the sun, the door latch heats up and the metal contacts since the door is open, setting off the alarm. The problem is figuring out what door it is.
Just an FYI: What you've done will prevent the alarm system from arming. I've heard (unclear if true) that this can increase battery drain, and could be a problem if the car is sitting for longer periods of time. I was pretty tempted to just cut the wires right at the hood sensor and splice them together. Who cares about their hood being alarmed anyways?! :)

Hello, do you use an elm327 on windows with forscan? I cannot get mine to be recognized in forscan even though it is paired in windows.

I took my horn fuse out until I get mine figured out. lights still flash but no horn.
