@@OnyinPearl I just wonder... You asked what you did wrong at the end of the video... You didn't get the song... So as a reaction to the song it is a F or zero or what ever you call rock bottom... You didn't get the song at all...
This is a love song - yes... But he loved her til he died... They carried him out of the house in a coffin... He could not love her anymore, since his life was over... Please start listen to the song, and if you need - search for the lyrics and read them...

The first line of the song tells the story. He said I’ll love till I die, he stopped loving her because he died. She came back to his funeral.

George Jones. The finest country voice. Ever. The pain you hear with every note George sings comes from his horrific childhood. Thank God he survived to deliver the most beautiful country song ever put to vinyl. It is no wonder George did not want to record and sing this song. How deeply can he plumb the pain in his heart to tell his friend's story? No one else can do this. A huge tip of the hat to Bobby Braddock, who wrote this immortal song. God bless Possum, RIP

Nah you missed it here. The only reason he stopped loving her is because he died. The first and last lines sum the whole thing up...
“He said I’ll love you till I die”
    “He stopped loving her today.”
He promised he would love her till he died, and that’s what he did.

One of Jones songs that I can relate to being married to my high school sweetheart for going on 53 years is "The Same Ole Me" -
"And I'm still the same old me loving the same sweet you
    Time hasn't withered our hearts
And when our days are through, I'll still be loving you
Even death can't keep us apart"

I think the reason SO MANY of these reactors miss the meaning of this song is the video they are choosing to watch. They read all the verbiage and don't actually listen to the lyrics.

    • @wasclit11

You hit the nail on the head. I watched one guy react to this song and all he could say was -"It's a sweet song but it's too slow for me!" - really? Too Slow? What can you say, "Buy them their books, send them to school and what do you get?

country music tells a story, very few of these reactors could care less what the message is, but she sure can tell you what the bio said.. not one word about how many times he was married was in the darn song, yet that was her only take away, try reading a book lady, your reactions have nothing to do with one of the greatest songs ever

the line in the chorus that goes 'They placed a wreath upon his door' is a custom that used to be done when someone in the house has died. & the phrase 'soon they will carry him away', means after his wake, he will be carried in his coffin to be burried.
