Veroooo!
All you understand that deep purple was good band
One of my favorite all time bands...this is classic stuff!
Iconic song in the history of rock music ...
The music and songs of the past was the greatest there ever was, the music and songs now days sucks...
I don't care what anyone says, these old analogue recordings sound 10 x better than the modern digital ones Made In Japan, Live and Dangerous, Rainbow On Stage etc.
The confidence, swagger, and intensity when they played live is obvious in how they looked, acted, and sounded. They knew they were creating something unique and amazing right in front of the eyes of the world. They were living legends whose star was getting brighter each passing day. Their place in music history was cemented long ago.
the best deep purple u would ever hear. live in Japan. MASTERPIECE
Excellent. Takes me back to my adolescence, dancing to the transistor radio in my bedroom. Truly excellent. Now I'm old, spend most of the day in bed, but this has me dancing.
Nothing can nor ever will compare to the 70s music!
The 60s music.
I remember when my dad gave me machine Head in 73 and I rocked out to every single song on this album. My dad was a medical student then. He passed away in 2013. I always thought how wonderful that my dad knew my taste in music.
When I was 10 in 1974 my best friend asked me to come to his house. He played this track on his dads LP.....I was amazed. And even today nearly 50 years later my heart resides in those times. Growing up and it's music. Lucky me?!

🤦♂️
Was thirteen years old when I bought this album. Wow, so many memories. And love them still!
My first rock album. I had plenty of soul and r and b albums but this was my first rock album. Blasted it so loud my neighbors called my mom. Great times
Smoke on the water. It will never get old. That’s real music. Real Vibe.
The best song, the best group, the best MK, one & only one Deep Purple! Thank you for all 50 years!
sorry Vladimir the best MK was Mk 6 with Joe Satriani on guitar, but that was a short time and second best Mk is Mk7 with Steve Morse (he play a lot longer than Ritchie in Band and help her no dissapear from music scene)

@@pro3gamer685 Long live RNR!
That drummer was ahead of his time. Great drummer, great band
what a tremendous drummer IAN PAICE was and is!
although the image is not clear as in other videos of the time, the video is fantastic because we see Deep Purple as they were in live performance: so young, so simple in clothing and movement, no theatrics (Gillan is just weaving his hair left and right) and the music is simple too, just for their amusement, nothing too much, just a song that they could easily play any time of the day, and generally nothing as big and artificial as in todays performances. Even the sign with their name is small and simple.
Mucisians are trying many years to do a song like the Deep Puprle songs, but they cannot. Rock bands don't even manage to play their songs as good as they did, always they overdo it, they play the guitar solos for more time, the play the drums louder, they sing the song screaming, they create a mess. So, long live Deep Purple.
Cheers mate.

Ive been waiting to see this forever! Its simply amazing. A religious experience
I seen Deep Purple the first time in Chicago in the real early 70s. I had a car when I was 16 and three friends and I made the TRIP. If you know what I mean. GREAT Concert..
I could recall way back in those good olden days during a Chemistry class in my high school when the teacher was telling the students about a liquid chemical solution that had the color of dark purple. One of the students exclaimed, "Deep Purple" and the class cheered, clapped, and roared in laughter. 🙃🤣
LOL!! And had detention and the cane !! Good old days ☺☺☺
Ian Paice- one of the all time great drummers
ROCK GODS !!! They all rocked it and Ian ‘s vocals out of this world ...genius !!
*That is even MORE than even CLASSIC = it's the LEGEND !!!!* OMG !!!!
Finally we saw a bit of this amazing concert .... I was lucky enough to know the music of purple made in japan ... just through a unique experience.
I came home one day and this album was laying on my bed. Don't know who put it there for me to this day 48 years later. Thanks hand of fate.
i saw DP two weeks after this show at the sunshine inn in asbury park, nj aug 24, 1972. they were fresh from their japan tour, they were effing hot! and so loud that i (20 y.o. who loved loud music) moved to the back!!! killer show.
Made in Japan.
Their best album and one of the top live albums of all time.
Ritchie Blackmore is incredible. He’s playing the guitar without looking at it. He has that much musical knowledge and memory!!
1974 , my dorm faced the boys dorm. One late hot afternoon I notice the guys were rigging these gigantic speakers in two of the boys dorm windows around eight stories high. I joined the crowd of kids watching this odd thing. And then WOW!!! Smoke On The Water drummed it’s way into my heart. Pure joy.
Prime "Purple" 👍🏼 best live version I've heard, Gillan sounds great!! No one could touch Ian's vocals in those days✌🏼️
robert plant? ozzy osbourne?
LukeFregitt ozzy osbourne lol
@@rez2198 they suck both. No one can touch Gillan in 70'80' 90', He was King of those years. Plant is Good but Ozzy ?? hmm i love Black Sabbath and his single carrer, but personaly i think he is not a good vocalist, anyway just imagine Plant or Ozzy singing Child in Time-for me absolutely impossible, they never be on those level like Gillan.
The best band with the best guitar player
they were one of those bands that just nailed it.the name ,the members names, you couldn't make up in a script.they were bad to the bone.they set a tone for music for years to come
Been a fan ever since 1972!
There u go 😮😂
Jon Lord plays the Hammond without a Leslie because he used to say it makes organ players lazy. He actually sounds like a guitarist playing bar chords with the consecutive fifths. The harshness and brashness of Lord's playing technique was brilliant. His replacement after he sadly passed away tries to maintain Lord's original sound. Lord was the man and the ability to engage with Ritchie Blackmore like dialogue was amazing. Ok They all contributed and the teamwork was a joy to behold.
У DP мой любимый диск - made in japan.
The Riff that launched a million guitarists!
Smoke on the Water ... hell, a song with a riff and a structure so simple that virtually NO ONE can interpret it well, except the MKII line-up of Deep Purple. I've been listening to different covers for decades, some better than others, but then one comes and listens to what Deep Purple was doing with the song and it's totally unheard of, at first it seems that it's not another thing, but the cadence, the tone, the color of the notes only these guys could "paint" it in this way. That's what music is missing these days: PERSONALITY. Not even the later Deep Purple lineups got this inexplicable energy and if yo do not believe me, take a look at what Joe Satriani says, one of the guitarists with the most technical resources that has ever existed: Try to play it with energy but don't over do it...damn! That is hard.
Retro Yisus You're f right dude. These days music doesn't hv personality, attitude and with no touch at all.You can hv all the papers, knowlege or wats so ever but if u hv no touch...u can't play music yet.
One of my favorite bands and this song was killing it out!!!
Los PADRES DEL ROCK...GRUPO DE ORO...recuerdo cuando solo podiamos escuchar en long play vinilos ..el album MADE IN JAPAN era costoso para la clase obrera .algun amigo compraba el album y se prestaba en todo el barrio
playing a song live gives you the room to improvise and expand from the studio version and make it bigger and better
Years after years and these drums are incredible,...
Love that beefy Hammond organ! R.I.P Jon Lord!!!
In all its grainy, black and white glory! The gambling house burned down to the ground fifty years ago, December 4, 1971. We got this awesome song! MKII
And to think in the mid seventies when I was 11 at school I watched from Glion high above Montreux this hotel burn. We got bored to death as it burnt for 10 hours desperately hoping for a giant explosion. My parents bought me Machine Head a few years later. And forty years later Wikipedia told me how this song came about and I made the connection.
One of the best guitar riffs the world will ever witness or have.
+GameScholar Truer words were never spoken!
My first concert that i went to was deep purple and ELO in 1975 in Detroit, MI.

No overdubs, no re-recording, no studio takes. Just taken live. The best live album ever: Made in Japan.
TOP6
First time I saw Deep Purple was at Clemson University where they were the sandwich act between Brownsville Station and the Allman Brothers. John Lord was playing a Farfisa organ that required open heart surgery before Purple could play. I never expected to tour as a crew person with Deep Purple about 1987 on the House of Blue Light Tour,... but you just never know. A couple of friends of mine went to work for Purple after I finished the tour. One was Steve Morse, who needs no introduction,..and Scoots Lyndon who was Rogers bass roadie.

Godamn that was good. I learned to play bass listening to these guys back in the 70s, what a fuckin blast!
High school, 1972, Deep Purple Machine Head 8-track in the HUGE Panasonic AM/FM, 8-track, record player combo on my dresser and Koss headphones on, this song got played to death!

First saw Purple on the UK Burn tour, be 74/75, obviously they played plenty of Machine head as well.
Thanks for this upload .
И Burn, Smoke on the water, Child in time, Never before, Black night - очевидный плагиат.
Smoke on the whater, Burn, Child in time - все это не один в один, но это украдено, и не важно были ли рады авторы первоисточника или нет.
Never before - это Good times bad times от Led Zeppelin.

This is seriously the best song. I love the fact that they took a real life rock and roll event and turned it into a musical history lesson. I hear Funky Claude is still running in and out.
We all came out to Montreaux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa and the Mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Smoke on the water
They burned down the gambling house
It died with an awful sound
Funky & Claude was running in and out
Pulling kids out the ground
When it all was over
We had to find another place
But Swiss time was running out
It seemed that we would lose the race
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Smoke on the water
We ended up at the Grand Hotel
It was empty, cold and bare
But with the Rolling truck Stones thing just outside
Making our music there
With a few red lights and a few old beds
We made a place to sweat
No matter what we get out of this
I know, I know we'll never forget
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Smoke on the water
