Guardian music is more terrifying but the gloom hands are WAY MORE TERRIFYING
I agreee but I can defeat the gloom hands but with guardians they have the stressful music and making me panic and after fighting them for many times I still die from them more than the gloom hands
OH HELL NAH BRO DID NOT HUST CALL THE GUARDIANS BOP OF A MUSIC TERRIFYING, HAVE TOU HEARD HOW GLOOM HANDS SOUND... First encounter I ran the fuck away
@Mxiiznon_binary well I did the same but soon I got used to it but the guardian music is just stressful no matter how much u listen to it but it is just my opinion
So true
@CharliezFrancesMichael stressful.. nah, that is a bop for parts that I can sell or get Rob to make stuff into... ez loot bag
Guardians really fit the vibe of BOTW and Gloom Hands really fit the vibe of TOTK. I do wish their was like one secret Guardian gight in TOTK somewhere in the depths.
well said!
There is actually one last guardian (broken version) in top of the akaka lab roof
But like a gloom guardian instead of a malice guardian
@@dude_thats_rowin true. . .
@dude_thats_rowin maybe like half of the legs missing but it's obvious that it's functioning and as soon as you get close gloom covers it and the missing legs get replaced by spiked gloom legs and it has a lot more health than a normal guardian (because of the gloom) and it's at the deepest part of the depths (that isn't Ganon) with it shooting a crimson lazer at any light sorce and anything that moves but it focuses link above all else
Visually, the gloom hands.
But there is nothing that can replicate the sheer terror of hearing intense piano music while running for your life as a spider robot with lasers chasing you down
Nah, guardians are just music loot boxes, in my opinion
@Mxiiznon_binary bladesaw on bike makes them really easy
Chop then legs
Allow me to introduce you to the sinnoh champion
Cynthia /J
@ she’s not chasing me down to play grab ass, while draining my life force not does she hunt me down with a laser beam
@iluvyurbles but she still traumatised people because of her monster of a garchomp, and her theme has a piano in it XD
I want y’all to imagine a Guardian whose legs are Gloom Hands, with two Gloom Hands sticking out of the main body to grab you while it fires the laser.
No god no please no I'm gonna diiiiiiiiie
I was genuinely just about to comment this.
Calm down Satan
@Goteryup I also want *specifically you* to imagine a version of Dead Hand that resides underwater and drags you down into the depths of the ocean when you fight it.
@@EcnavMC jokes on you, I actually never fought a dead hand and don't even know what they look like off hand
The first time I found a Guardian Stalker, I got so terrified... The initial part of the music bringed chills to my hands.
The Gloom Hands were basically the same thing.
I saw it spawn, the sky turning red, the music drastically changing, and the Gloom Hands "war cry" put me on such a fear experience.
hearing the music pop up while they are behind you and you are climbing facing a wall unable to see them is also terrifying.
Personally I always found the Guardians to be more threatening and panic-inducing than the gloom spawn. The gloom spawn were kinda eerie when I first encountered one because I had no idea what it was, but the fear factor wore off after the third or fourth time seeing one. Guardians on the other hand remain a consistently intimidating presence until the late game of any given playthrough.
Yeah nothing's worse than getting ready to do your final run on the tower and you're trying to Glide over a castle wall and get blasted out of the sky even if you're at Full Hearts it's going to hurt you when you land
How r u getting hit while gliding
The gloom hands always seem to find the most opportune moment to jump on you. Like when there's nothing nearby to climb or when you're already out of stamina, and of course you never made those stamina potions you reminded yourself to make.
I think the guardians are more satisfying to beat.
Bcs you get loot, unlike the gloomy trash hahahha
Oh definitely, especially when it comes with parrying its shots. You feel good at the game (not common for me)
@@khaledaboujokh9619demon bow is probably my second favorite bow in TOTK (behind savage lynel cause yk)
The first time ive seen a gloom, was a nightmare i havent expected that, terrifying!!! But guardians are a classic.
The Gloom Spawn was severely nerfed for no reason. Why does it just give up and despawn if you get some distance between you. They should have made it a more difficult sub-boss, especially since they are not as common as the Guardians were, and they’re usually alone. Super terrifying at the very start of the game, but too easy soon after.
I agree. They're too easy to beat once you have figured out.
Um, because it doesn't need to fight, I mean, it's working for Phantom ganondorf afterall.
The sound that plays when a guardian spots you is the most terrifying and stressing sound in gaming. Change my mind.
@Mazhypic What about the Sonic drowning music?
@@stephanieburnham7505 Yeah I gotta agree it's stressing, but not scary in the sam way.
Guardian music is terrifying, but I’ve since learned how to party the lasers, so Gloom hands are more terrifying
U took the happiest part of that music... the scariest part is: TUTURURUTUTUTUTUTTU PUMPURURPPUPUPU
I always found the Lynels the most terrifying enemies. 😰
@@nyancorp Lynel are ez after 3-4 fight against them. The same move over and over
@@Sakazuki.Akainu Only if you’re good in timing the Flurry rush. 😩
@@nyancorpJust get a royal guard claymore, get it to 1 durability and it does 4x the damage of it and the attached item and you can just chain a few mounts and the Lynel dies quickly
If mod devs decides to make a combo of Gloomhands and Guardians it would definitely scare/traumatised me
The first time I saw gloom hands is still the part I remember most from totk. The first time I saw them was while the first blood moon was happening. It was terrifying. I was worried they were going to appear every blood moon
Phantom Ganon that spawns after the gloom hands: 👁️👄👁️
The Guardian theme outshines the gloom hands theme especially when the piano intro kicks in
Gloom hands are harder, but the first time seeing both, gloom hands are like yeah a harder guardian, but the guardians you we’re pooping yourself the first time you saw one
Gloom hands are more terrifying. Guardians are a better developed enemy with superior musical score.
My first encounter with a guardian was at the dueling peaks and it was terrifying!
Phantom Gannon is so easy also the gloom hands are easily escaped, but the guardians hunt you down and snipe you if you aren’t prepared
Remember, you can always whistle sprint in botw
I'd argue that gloom hands are more terrifying all around, regardless of progression. However, I will never forget the way my heart dropped the first time I was playing botw and heard the opening piano. At first I was like "oh this is intense music I wonder what's going on". That's when the red laser appeared. It's safe to say that that version of Link has been dead for almost ten years
It’s funny I used to be afraid of the guardians every time I heard their music but then when I learned how to take them down, which did take me a year after the game came out, they don’t scare me anymore even if I don’t have the master sword, I still know how to take them down easily shoot them in the eye of paralyze them for a second then attack their legs. Then when they start to look at you again, shoot their eye again, and then continue cutting off their limbs after you takeoff all their limbs and they see you again shoot them in the eye and then keep damaging them and keep rinse and repeat.
They missed an opportunity for Gloom-infested Guardians in a random corner of the underworld
My first experience went like “🏃🏃🏃”
The thing that made the guardians so scary and unique was its futuristic design compared to the medieval feeling on Botw, it felt so unique. And it’s ability to one shot you made it feel like a foe you weren’t even meant to fight but to hide or run from. While the gloom hands were just enemies that looked kind of creepy but weren’t all that much more tough
The gloom hands are terrifying every time you encounter them, guardians are only scary the first time.
The first time you get phantom Ganon jump scared after beating a set of gloom hands is a different kind of fear
With the guardians, you usually got a clear warning with them, especially with the first introduction to the static ones.
The gloom hands however, just turn the sky dark red, play ominous music and jump you before you can comprehend whats happening and they don't give you any sort of acripted intro like with the guardian. You get jumped and told "good luck"
The way the gloom hands scream at you and the music, man they're just creepy as hell
Nothing can replicate the sheer terror I've gotten from facing Gloom Spawn
Gloom Spawn also comes with an uncanny soundtrack and the sky turns red. My first encounter with them was terrifying, especially since they weren’t shown in a single trailer
I do like the Guardians and other types of Guardians more the ones we have, just one of them is tough enough but a whole group of them is dangerous we have to dodge their explosive beam and some of them even hold weapons or can even fly
I didn't mind either, the first time I just ran away until I felt more comfortable to face them properly.
The Guardian (Stalkers) are actually Robotic Octopi.
They were made when the Zelda Dev Team tried to make Octorocks as large as they seemed/appeared in the Original Zelda game.
Since the Octorocks were bigger than Link, they tried to recreate them in the 3D engine and environment, and the Guardians are what resulted lol
There is nothing scarier than exploring Hyrule and watching the spawn of satan rise from the ground before your eyes
I already knew the trick with guardians when I started BotW and the timing is pretty easy with a little practice, so instead of jumpscaring me the music just got me absolutely hype for some parrying
The sound that plays when a walking one sees you is harrowing
Guardians early game were terrifying. You didn’t have a ton of hearts, didn’t have the Master Sword, your bow likely didn’t do enough damage to really make a fight worth it, and of course, the music. However, the moment you have the master sword, the fight becomes trivial.
Gloom Hands though, they stay difficult because if you are already too close when the fight starts, you basically get stunlocked as they sap your health and the only counter is basically just “hope one of the sages get grabbed instead.” Then of course half the time you kill one, Phantom Ganon appears and if you don’t have dodges and parries on lock, dude slices you in half.
Yeah gloom hands visually are more terrifying by a long shot, especially the blood curdling scream Theh give at when they spot you and their eyes open up. But nothing hits like the first time hearing the piano chime in when a guardian spots you from a mile away, both over terrifying creatures that Nintendo significantly nailed.
Fear comes in 2 varietys. Fearing for your life, and *OH JESUS WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT* gaurdians and gloom hands both fall on each extreme of this spectrum
Me when i heard the piano jingle: 😮😮😮
Actually my first guardian encounter ended with me spamming the parry button thinking “DO SOMETHING!” And killing it via reflected laser beam, and me sitting in silence for a bit
I want my first ptsd back, thank you. I'd rather have a discordant piano playing my doom than some out of nowhere, eldritch abomination charging after me.
And another thing about gloom hands is that even if you beat them if you don’t beat them all at once, they’ll come back
My first interaction with a guardian was no where near as intimidating as my first encounter with the gloom hands. I was in a cave just exploring when suddenly I hear strange music, I turn around and get swooped up by the gloom hands and just get tossed around like a rag doll and die. It took me five deaths just to leave that cave because I was nowhere near ready to face them with a very limited amount of arrows and no sages.
Guardians gave me nightmares as a kid
The thing about gloom hands is they can only stay in a specific area. Guardians will spot you from a distance and LOCK ON until they either can’t follow or KILL
my guardian experience: "lalal- WHAT THE FU- *laser*"
my gloomhand experience: "WHAT THE FUDGE IS THAT WHAT THE FUDGE IS TH- *gets murdered*"
Which psycho at Nintendo thought, "I know, let's combine 5 Wind Waker floormasters together and make them almost unbeatable in the early game, And just for extra misery, have Phantom Ganon pop-up afterwards."
Saw this tip from a youtuber (forgot the name) and it worked for me. I first shot the gloom hands with the flash arrows (equipping the 5-arrow bow works even better), when they got stunned, shoot them with bomb arrows (with the same bow), rinse and repeat until they die, it won't take long.
gloom hands are way more terrifying then guardians. my first experience with one was me freaking out and swearing alot lol
Gloom hands. You can't escape by climbing, you can't run, you can barely fight them. Then, you defeat them. _And then another health bar appears._
I agree with you, that gloom hands are generally more of a threat, but I'm going to play devil's advocate here and share a few thoughts I had as someone who has played both games many times and often evaded battle when I'm busy doing something else.
Gloom hands are more threatening when you fight them, but if you're not equipped for them or just don't feel like fighting them at the moment, I personally find them easier to outrun and you can usually climb up somewhere they can't reach you then wait for them to disappear.
Guardians, on the other hand, have a long range attack that either kills you or knocks you on your ass and the guardian catches up while you're down. And they don't just disappear after a few seconds when you get out of range. They may lose interest and walk away, but they can just as easily see you again and begin another pursuit.
Gloom hards scared me more because in the great plateau they give you a taste of guardians with the stationary ones before they set you free and can find the walking ones. Also guardian’s can be spotted from a decent bit away. But gloom hands just show up out of nowhere. And gloom hands make the air hazy like a blood moon which freaked me out a lot on my first play through
I personally think that, in terms of design, the gloom hands are scarier, but the guardian music would still have you running for your life if you heard it out of nowhere
The guardians were scarry and menacing, the gloom hands always made me angry and annoyed.
You can defeat gloom hands by literally holding on to your life.
Climb to a vertical wall and make sure that they can't reach you, and just wait for them to die in frustration
You should consider this in universe. Guardians are giant, neon-pink mechanical monstrosities that walk around mainly on grass plains; in other words, the definition of "easy to spot" and avoided. Gloom Hands, meanwhile, come out of the ground without prior notice, and are faster than Link, making encounters with them inevitable and extra-deadly.
So yes, Gloom Hands are the tougher enemy, without competition... unless you just climb a wall/tree nearby, and stay there gripping that vertical surface until the Gloom Hands get bored after about a minute and just die.
First reaction to a Guardian: "Oh shit, it's a Guardian!"
First Reaction to Gloom Hands: "what is that?! What the fuck is that?!?!?"
Gloom hands look scarier but they kinda loose their spark when you realize you can just overpower them with brute force. Guardian’s unstoppable and utterly terrifying until you learn the trick and get good at the timing, because you’re not gonna be able to run from them or kill them conventionally without dying
The gloom hands are tougher but the guardians are scarier cause I can be a million miles a way and still hear that sound
Gloom hands caught me so off guard when I went to the maze
Anyone who finds guardians bop terrify or panic induced then... what are you talking about. This work of art of music is holy to my ears. When gloom hands spawn.. and ... THAT... music plays... i knew just to run, thats what i did on my first few encounters
Bro at least with guardian once you beat it you done while gloom hand after you beat it then you have to fight phantom ganon so is basically 2v1 don’t get me wrong they’re both easy regardless but if I have to pick I say gloom hand takes the cake people choose guardian like I’m sorry but yall don’t know what you talking about it lol in my opinion
First off, Gloom hands have an unsettling scream and are pretty good at hiding if you're not paying attention to the strange gloom puddles. Second, that was not how my first encounter with a Guardian went. I was half nekked with a stick and cheap bow trying to attack a stationary one and died.
Looking back to my first play throughs, Guardians and their music made me run because I couldn't beat it yet, I didn't know the secrets, but I managed to run away. Gloom Hands and their accompanying music scared the beegeebees out of me, worse, I couldn't out run them. Knowing how to handle both now, Gloom hand s take more effort because of shadow Gannon.
The guardian theme is my alarm clock 😂
The gloom hands are certainly a tougher fight, but lore wise the guardians were much more of a threat. They were made and set up to flood across Hyrule the moment the pillars rose in order to protect its people & the heroes, then Ganon used that fact to his own advantage and nearly destroyed all of Hylian civilization. From what we see in cutscenes and trailers in both BotW and AoC, they only aim when targeting one specific person or thing; outside of that focus their fire rate is much quicker while retaining the individual destructive capability of each laser, and on top of all that they can move very quickly and climb up walls to get around if need be.
The Guardians are scary and there are so many, but the first time i encounterd one i didn't immediately panic and die. The gloom hands are horrific.
Guardians are just big puppies, that wants you to tickle their legs.
Gloom hands!!! 🙌 the music goes backwards, the sky turns red, you can’t outrun the dang thing AND it screams like a banshee when it spots you 😭😭😭🫣😂
If I'd gotten into breath of the wild when it first came out and didn't know Guardians could, ya know, MOVE once you got off the Plateau, I'd probably find them to be more terrifying. Unfortunately tho I got into the game 5 years late and already had the "nope not messing with you" instincts honed.
The Gloom Hands, in contrast, were a TERRIFYING surprise 😅 nothing will ever beat the moment of exploring the Plateau again when suddenly "wait why is the sky turning red?? Did I trigger a panic blood moon??? What's that musi--hOLY MOTHER OF HYLIA WHAT IN GANON'S NAME IS THAT?!!!?!?!!!?!!!!" 😂😂
The concept of the gloom hands is much more terrifying to me, personally, but that’s subjective.
I’m in no way discounting the difficulty of the guardians(especially when you consider early game/new gamers playing), but the fact that the hands only counter is primarily just “get in the air” takes the win. You can’t even be built different and canonically win with a pot lid in this horror show.
bro- gloom hand are scary, but guardian theme gave me PTSD
Stalker: big, loud, can be seen in distance, gives big laser showing where it will attack and how to break line of sight.
Gloom: go near you die, use melee weapon, you die, ambushes you with little warning, multiple targets and hard to stun, fast, second phase if you manage to fight back, does gloom damage, creates a field of gloom slowing and damaging you, so evil the environment changes when it spawns.
Gloom hands are a new players nightmare
The Gloom Hands lose their fear factor, when you realize that a Zonai Rocket onba Shield, is all you need to defeat most of them, without even exchanging a single attack! If even!
Fun fact: if you even gently mash, the hand will drop your before you take damage
Guardian hunting is my favorite thing to do in BotW. Gloom Hands are scary once.
Nothing beats walking and hearing that piano start
I never was afraid to fight a guardian because it seemed defeatable at some point.
i ran from gloom hands because i didnt know you COULD defeat them.
Correct, and after the gloom hands are defeated, then comes a more dangerous problem: phantom gandon
I was terrified when i first encountered the gloom hands
I'm still traumatized from the first time I ran into the gloom hands.......you can't out run them like you can with a guardian....
im so glad my older brother played botw before i did cause he warned me about the guardians (well, more like he taught me how to fight them after screaming cause i got scared)
Guardians: all you need is a pot lid and good reflexes.
Gloom hands: post game monster. 😐
gloom hands are just guardians without the laser. I got a heart attack when i first heard the piano, and when i saw it i ran for miles. the range on guardians and force of them is immense and while the gloom does limit your hearts you just need to eat stuff but they are pretty close to each other in my opinion.
Don't forget about ancient arrows.
Been playing for months and never seen gloom hands. NEW FEAR UNLOCKED
At least with guardians there is at least a POSSIBILITY to escape or hide…
As opposed to the gloom hands where if you see one, you might as well turn around or warp somewhere else if you‘re not like Obi Wan and possessing the high ground.
The guardian music does raise your bp, but they're very predictable to defeat. I have never encountered the gloom hands yet, but the sudden red sky already spikes ny bp
By far the absolute best way to clear a Gloom spawn is a durable two-handed weapon with a frost horn or thunder Glock horn attached and then spin to win
Gloomhands, but only until you know how they work
Yeah. Guardian kinda become insignificant once you figure out how to take them out.
the first time i encountered gloom hands, they spawned on the ground and i was on a rock or something they couldn't get up onto, and they despawned in frustration or something before i had a chance to process what i just saw. i'm not totally sure they even saw me, tbh.
so i learned pretty quickly that i just need to stay out of reach and they'll give up.
guardians though... RUN.
I remember the first time i saw the hands, I was heading to a shine in a cave. I was just about to get to a small wall whet the shrine was atop it when i hear what to me sounded like stone dragging, to flesh popping. Obviously concerned by the sound, I turn around, only to be met by a blood curdling screech.. "okay ill get on the wall an- The grabbed me, crap." "well I have gloom heal and heart food, and now I've made it to the top! Great, no bomb them to hell" "those sucked, I bet they drop something cool thou- WHY IS THERE A BOSS BAR!"
The gloom hands would change the way the world looked around you too. They come out of nowhere too. I think that the fact that people wanted them to return in TotK but no one would ever want gloom hands to make a repeat appearance goes to show which one people prefer. Gloom hands were so freaking annoying too. Especially because you burn through bomb arrows when you fight them. I do like fusing gloom swords to pristine gerudo scimitars though. Easily get 90 hit points +/- was definitely a bonus
Okay but with the hands, all you need is to climb up a vertical surface and wait them out. They can't climb straight up and, while it takes a while, they will despawn and drop their loot without the second phase.
The first time I saw gloomhands I was like “meh. I’ll just run around…what the f …what the…oh no….oh my gahd!!!!
Now when I play each game, I go guardian hunting but I’ll still avoid gloomhands if I can.
The gloom hands were more terrifying when I first saw them but they are easier then guardians
