Years ago - - I read that the best way to save money is to stay out of stores, that helped me so much. I just quit going to stores and went out riding my bike a lot and walking, saved money and got more fit.
Love it 💕
Soooo true !
Sooo accurate !
Im with you on that
I have 3 pants...2 good shirts and 7 evetyday shirts. 2 winter coats ..one heavy ..one light. 2 slippers...2 shoes....7 undies etc. Thats it! Love it❤
That sounds so amazing ❤️❤️thanks for sharing 😍
Wow. That’s amazing
Interesting.I think I took similar amounts to my holiday I am on now, and we had to wash after like 6 days, because as it is so hot and we went swimming a lot in the sea, you get sweaty and sticky, and we had to change at least once a day, and also needed more sleep shirts than anticipated... Therefore my question is, how often do you wash? No sweaters? No summer/ Autumn/ spring jacket? No scarfs, etc? I also could never with just 2 shoes, like sandals, an option you can wear to the beach/ lake, again, shoes that can get dirty and yucky? Etc...
I like how e mentioned that you would forget and move on about the items not on your list. I find that if i take a picture of something and tell myself i can come back tomorrow for it, I don't want it anymore. I usually don't even look at the picture for days because i forgot about it, every once in a while something will stick to my mind and if i want it for several days and it fits the budget ill go back for it, but this has cut down my impulse buying more than 99%
Taking a picture is a great idea! We let my daughter take pics of things she would like for her birthday or Christmas and she’s does the same 9 times out of 10 she doesn’t remember ❤️thanks for sharing and thanks for watching 😍
Well, for me there are/ were still too many " wholes" in my wardrobe. And often, if I did not get something I liked then, it often got sold out too quickly. But I am much of an overthink we anyways, so maybe...
I love watching videos like this
seeing everyones priorities in their clothes is fascinating to me because its often so different from me and from each other! this wardrobe seems fantastic and very versitile. I have to agree about fall not being fall without denim on denim, its just so cozy
As I approach 50, I'm feeling ready to declutter certain items from my closet so thank you for the gentle nudge that this video provided! I'm perimenopausal so synthetic fabrics like polyester have been greatly reduced and I'm not buying any more from here on out. I'm starting to feel a little too mature to be wearing graphic t-shirts and hoodies so no more of those are coming in either... they will dwindle away from my wardrobe as I'm ready to declutter each one. I'm a big fan of blouses and cardigans because of the ability to layer a light top underneath and gear down when a hot flash strikes!
I feel like we all relate to what you said❤️ our closets evolve with our age and needs and we shouldn’t feel stuck at looking at all the pieces that don’t bring us joy anymore😍 thank you for sharing and good luck decluttering friend!
Thank you for a realistic 30-something mom four seasons minimalist wardrobe! It’s cute yet simple and easy. I find myself thinking I need all these super stylish pieces after watching RUclipsrs, BUT that’s not really my style exactly nor my life season with 4 young kids. 😊
hahah I hear ya! I often remind myself that just because I like something on someone else doesn't mean I need it too haha So I totally understand! Thanks for watching 😊
Wear and buy whatever you want. You can still be minimalist. They’re are no rules. It’s your life do what you want.
i have a lot of clothes, ive been working on limiting my consumption in other aspects of my life for years, i own only the makeup i need, only the hygiene products i need, only the stationary and other little things i need, and so much more u get the point. Clothes have always been my weak point as im very much a teen thats into fashion and i constantly catch myself buying more clothes but never have anything to wear. Ive recently started listing a lot of my wardrobe on vinted - and it got super overwhelming and thats when i realised thats only half of what i own and that im overconsuming. the total i can get from not even all my clothes listed right now is almost 2000€… and my prices arent even high. I hope to sell most of my wardrobe and with that money invest into pieces that will last me a lifetime and that i actually like and can style, Thanks for sharing your wardrobe this is really inspiring💕
Hmm, you made me reconsider buying tees online. I wouldn't have guessed that tees were easy to find in good condition secondhand because I, like you, wear them out and often. Thanks for the tip! I'll have to go thrifting now!
My favorite thrift stores most times have shirts that are almost unworn which blows my mind too! But it does sometimes take some patience so I just keep a list of what I need and look when I can 😊 thanks for watching 😍
I love the white T shirt with the strings and I love your color palette….. just inspiring!!!!
Aww thanks so much ❤️ I love loose and soft materials. Especially now that I’m getting older I only wear things that feel good on my body and skin 🙋♀️ thanks for watching friend!
Definitely inspired me to do another closet declutter. Thank you for the tour xx
Aww that is so nice to hear! Good luck friend!
I just counted *everything* I own (including boots, coat, and 2 purses) and I have 33 items for the entire year (I live in Michigan!)
Love it!! That’s amazing 🤩
How?! This sounds very impressive, bit how often do you wash?!
I regularly go through my closet and declutter items I haven't worn. I find it easier to leave a hole and take time to fill the spot.
Love this! Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
i invested in a winter coat 3 years ago. I washed that coat once and is still as new. I invested in jewelry 18 k gold. I wear the same things almost 3 years everyday and a few black dresses that i wear on and of. But something that is a must in my wardobe is a navy blue pair of trousers. Those are my go to item when i am on the monthly and i can wear it when i am on a visit. They are something i buy every year because they are so washed out a lot.
Love it! These are all wonderful ideas on how to keep it simple yet beautiful in you wardrobe thanks so much for sharing 👏❤️❤️❤️
I have an almost identical coat and it was bought for the same reason ❤ love your video thank you for sharing
I accidently tore out the string on the hood the other day and I'm so bummed, I'm going to try and sew the hole. Its such a great, warm coat!! 😍 Thanks for watching!
I did a purge once, a few moniback and got rid of so many clothes! Fixing to do it again!
Love it! Having a well curated capsule wardrobe has been a game changer for me! It was overwhelming at first because I had so many clothes but once I got rid of the excess I really enjoy a small wardrobe now 😍 good luck friend and thanks for watching ❤️
It’s funny you go for tees second hand. Where I live that’s the hardest thing to thrift in my stores. They are always stretched out, stained, holes, etc. Couple that with the stores starting nearly the price of buying new somewhere like Target I just skip that section usually.
I think this was your best video yet!!! I have been watching you for a while now and I am so in love with the evolution of your wardrobe!!! It's beautiful, simple, and chic! I too, love neutrals so I think that is why I am so drawn to your style! And I have been on a minimalist journey as well and I feel like our style and number of things are starting to align which has been cool to see! Sending much love to you and your fam and thanks for the beautiful video! ❤
Thank you so much ❤️❤️
I love mustard/golden yellow. 😀💛🌻 Before I step in the store I know Why and What I’m shopping for. I take photos of items that I’m leaving behind. I usually forget about them days after or return to the store 1-2 weeks later if I’m still interested. If I’m shopping at Marshall’s it’s usually still there. This is harder sometimes at thrift stores, still having a budget keeps me in check.
It is such a beautiful color!😍 That's awesome! I feel like taking pictures of things has been the biggest game changer for me and my daughter. It has defiantly helped both of us to walk away from thing we don't really need just want in the moment. And like you said we barely ever remember or go back for the item! 😂Thanks for watching and your thoughtful comment!😍
This video really helped me. I’m down to 98 pieces from 302. Not going to talk about the shoes. 😂😂😂
Amazing!!
Everytime I go to Marshall’s I put all kinds of things in my buggy. Then I think about it, I usually don’t buy but one thing or maybe nothing . ❤❤❤
This was very helpful! Thank you for sharing❤
Thanks so much 😍
Thank you so much for listing some items and where to purchase them very thoughtful
Karen
Welcome 🤗
You have a cute wardrobe. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! 😊
When we found a new puppy one day, we knew she was right. As time went by, we knew she was more than right! From that day forward, we knew we had discovered “the dog feeling”. Now, we don’t buy so much as a pair of socks, unless we have “the dog feeling”. Call it what you want, but when you have to take it home because it’s what you truly love or truly need, go for it. Also, I think in my mind where I will put the new item so that I know I have room for it. Unless it’s the right puppy, then it stays in your heart forever. 💕🐕🦺💕
Honestly, can I use this idea!?? Ur so right! I’m definitely sharing your idea on a video! Thanks so much for sharing 👏👏
My daughter and I would be honored if you would share this. I see your beautiful pups in your cozy home and know you understand exactly what I’m talking about! I embrace minimalism and also love refreshing things in our family home of 42 years, so it’s a dance, isn’t it? With older homes, I hear you about negotiating limited storage, and so if we don’t have room, something has to happen. When I lost my sweet mom 24 years ago, I kept her glass canning jars from the ‘30’s and use them for all my grains, chocolate chips, popcorn, etc. They are a daily reminder of how wise and frugal she was, how she loved and appreciated her home with never a clutter or thing out of place. You are a very valuable teacher-I hear it in your clear, patient voice. You’re never going to regret this time with your little girl or in the classroom! I must to tell you about “near, mid and far space”, though you may know. It’s where we emotionally go when when we seek comfort. We all go in and out of all three, but one space is our comfort zone. Near space: everything in our sight, the details, being neat as a button, calm. Can’t read a book if there are dishes in the sink. Mid space: the people place, enjoying friends, being included, talking and listening. Far space: creating, reading, writing, inventing, traveling, imagining. One of those is our comfort place. Near space is the one of super order; not so much the other two. So if we don’t understand why we can’t keep our stuff neat and tidy, it’s likely because we tend towards mid or far. Super helpful when we work with kids. We understand the wiring .. just another fascinating piece of the puzzle and one that gives us patience with ourselves and others. Fun, helpful concept to share with parents. I’ve had them say, “You mean my kid is not messy, just far-space?!” I’d say yes, though the rest of us have to live here, too! 😂 But get that kid more paint brushes! Nice visiting with you today. 🌻
Love it! Great taste, btw. I found you on RUclips yesterday and am loving it. Your videos are awesome! Thank you! 🙂 A few questions, if you will... 🙂Do you have only 1 PJ? Do you own any scarfs, socks, flip flops, robes, hats, beach wear? I am trying to downsize my entire home before I move. I have started a while ago and it feels great. Thanks for being so inspiring. God Bless!
Thank you so much! So glad you’re here! 💕I have one summer/spring pj and a winter/fall big sweater pullover thing I wear around the house. I put them under/in the pillow case when I make my bed. I don’t always wear pjs though so I can understand why people might want a few more
Nice video! ❤ I'm a new subscriber from Northern VA 😊
That’s where I lived until I was In 3rd grade ❤️❤️ many fond memories! Thanks for joining and welcome!!
@@minimalease That's cool! I teach KG here and I'm trying to become a minimalist. Happy I found your channel! ❤️🙌
I do the same thing with catalogs. I pick out what I want to buy and put the Catalog down for a week. If in a week I can’t remember what I wanted to buy in it then I simply throw it out.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!!
hi just curious what do you do on bdays/special occasions? would you go buy a new piece and add to it? or curate with what you have…purchase and sell? thats where im a bit confused with in regards to my wardrobe as im in the process of decluttering, thanks
If I want to spruce up my wardrobe I often thrift for the item first. I will put it in my notebook what I am looking for and as I have time I will keep an eye out for it ❤️ For Christmas my husband and I like to have a few holiday sweaters that are kid friendly (he still works at a school and I sub) but we store those away in the Christmas box during the year. I don't sell my clothes anymore, because I just hate selling things hahah I give them away and I never feel bad about it because so often I get my clothes from the thrift store anyway hahah Hope that Helps! Thanks so much for sharing
Your body is beautiful ❤ Thank you for the tips🎉
So glad they helped 💕 thanks!
Love the video! Where is the black longsleeve with the zipper from?
amzn.to/472vbkv
This shirt is amazing!
LOVE the belt - do you know where it came from
Thanks so much! It’s just from a few years ago at target
Wow! I appreciated this as now I’m up North and have 4 seasons again. Do you wear jeans to work? I know some teachers wear them on Fridays. I’m feeling this pull to buy a crazy amount of “winter” gear as is marketed to us constantly. Lounge wear and pajamas are so critical, so I’m glad you got a set. I learned that from listening to Kathy Roberts (YOuTube) many years ago. She really reminds Mom’s to think ahead about your attire on Christmas morning! :)
Do you wear the Ugg boots for snow/rain too?
Yup those ugg boots are amazing! I sprayed them awhile ago to keep the leather looking nice and the have been through everything. Snow, rain, mowing the lawn, gardening and they have been such a great investment. Also, because they are so easy to get on a off I wear them a lot more I have found the easier it is to put on shoes the more likely I am to wear them
@minimalease I either wear my dark jeans or those tan colored pants and just rotate.
Its difficult. I want a wardrobe I love. One of my goals is to just keep the clothes I always use.
that's a great goal! With all the ads and media out there it is so hard to know when you have enough and to stop searching for the next best thing. Once I filtered out most of my clothes I found my style and what I really always enjoyed wearing. Now I stick to a list and only buy new clothes to replace old ones. I talk about my clothes hanger rule a little in my newest video ruclips.net/video/9UwjP2szvcE/видео.html This rule has helped me to stick with a smaller closet and stop buying more 😊
When I was young, I would buy clothes I thought I was “supposed” to have…a LBD, dressy heels, dressy trousers. But they were for a life I didn’t even live! Now I wear every piece in my wardrobe…some more often than others. I mostly don’t buy items that are too special to wear regularly.
Excellent points about brain capacity!❤
Thanks so much! 😊
I always make a list and I estimate how much it's all going to cost and I only take that much cash with me.
When I used to use a credit card for everything, I'd just swiped the card without even knowing the amount, but since I try to pay the exact amount, I was shocked at how quickly things are adding up, so I often put things back. I always ask myself is it a Need or a Want?
My statement used to always be at Least $800 but now it's $200-300🎉
Love this!! Thanks for sharing 😍
Love it!
Aww Thanks friend! 😍
OMG please where did u get the white tank top from??? I have been searching for it and no luck, If u can't remember tell me the brand. Thanks
It’s from target ❤️
@@minimalease okay. Will continue searching. Tysm
I need my lawyer suits for work and my ice skating outfits for the rink. Otherwise I live in really relaxed and plain LL Bean & Lululemon
You ice skate that is so cool! ❤️
Everyone's minimalist journey is different because everyone's journey is for different reasons. I don't own blue jeans but I don't need them in my lifestyle. My year-round wardrobe is mostly pants that I can quickly match with other items for suit like sets. I even wear comfortable stretch suits that I don't remove when I exercise. Otherwise I was just buying more cute exercise clothes that I really didn't need.
Where is the green Sherpa fuzzy jacket from?!
Aerie ❤️ just got it for my bday so it should still be in stock 🤞
Oh really?! I thought it looked like it might be Mountain Hardware brand? 🤔
So inspiring
Thank you so much! ❤️
I love the individual pieces you chose but I am looking for an overall statement in my capsule. Also it feels like you have abandoned your curves. It's hard to find both comfort and fit. Size down.
You could have a color statement but mine is based on my different lifestyle choices. I choose mostly comfort because I work from home and a lot outside. Look at your lifestyle and build in pieces that would be versatile within that wardrobe 👍
what we think, we need.
51 I've got 20 pieces
That’s awesome 👏
Can I ask u where do you live? It seems like The weather is quite The same all’ The year… am I right?
I live in Virginia it’s a temperate climate so we range from 30-80 degrees Fahrenheit usually we can definitely see lower then that like today it’s 15 degrees and we can get into the high 90’s some days in the summer
Did anyone else try this and then realize they almost immediately needed to do the smallest load of laundry...of life? Haha. It's the only time in my life I started viewing daily exercise as problematic.
🤣 love it!
❤❤❤
Thanks so much for sharing ❤️
My problem is I want to know why every paycheck I need to order from Amazon. So, I have decided to come up with a list and after that I am done. The problem is that I am trying to switch over to reusable. So I know once I finish doing that I'll be done. I just want to be done sooner than later. I want to get paid and not have to worry about Amazon.
Making a list is a great idea! Maybe check one thing off the list every paycheck so it isn’t as much money and you can make sure it’s going to be a good fit. I think it’s great your moving over to reusable items! And it will not only help the environment but your budget too down the road 👏😍
Thank you :)@@minimalease
i dont have kids but i too would be stuck in the stuffed-animals and polly-pocket isle. essentials

Honestly, you have a lot of repeated clothes, I don't see the point of having so many blouses in the same color, it's not your base piece because you have quite a few in other colors.
I enjoy and wear all my clothes so to me it’s perfect
good grief, I'm not even a minimalist and I have less clothes.
feel better now? haha Thank God you got that off your chest 😂
