I absolutely love the 60s era Galaxy body style, these are the cars I see in my mind when I think of old school Nascar racing. Great video, keep up the good work your doing saving these old American classics.
I would do a video with the truck but keep in mind with that Galaxie it's classic don't take everything from a alright car to put in a bad one and when your done with it you should give it away to a subscriber
just started the video and i am excited ...i am from Australia and heading to the states hopefully this year to get a galaxie...so love seeing you getting another one
That big block car is worth putting the money into to fix more than your small block one is, especially if that is the original numbers matching 4brl big block.. That intake alone is seriously rare being a factory aluminum 4brl intake, typically the rare time you had 4brl intakes they were cast iron.
That's a great car because it will give you you're FE motor mount frame stands. Most interioer most likely a 9 inch, and also I know you will probably run that motor because you have it but why not make it a 390 or bigger cubes or simply a 390? Just to have some more power.
Perfect parts car in my opinion. But,I'm so glad you're gonna put tags on it & drive it. It would look pretty cool if it had wheels & hub caps just like your truck. Just a thought.
I had to do the same thing with a c-3 Corvette. The parts car saved me a ton of money on the parts I needed, and then I was able to sell the parts car later and recoup at least some of my investment. Sometimes it's the only thing that makes sense.
Man, I wish you were on the east coast, I know of a "Junkyard" full of 63-64 galaxies and 67-79 Ford trucks in Virginia where I'm from. The gentleman who owns them will sell almost everything in there and is a local dirt track legend. Hagerty done an interview with him over a year ago, and it shows his collection.
Can’t have to many, it has a good top, body swap? Yet I know the feeling to well, but you resisted for the right price, I would not have resisted.😁good job!
I don't know, I got 1982 Poltergeist vibes off that... "YOU REMOVED THE HEADSTONES, BUT YOU DIDN'T REMOVE THE BODIES!".....I think it's the CA community, the old houses, and that music that is really damn close to the Poltergeist theme song.
Like The Reverend Horton Heat always says, "Things ain't so bad... cause I got a Galaxie 500" keep up the good content. So glad I came across your channel.
My first showroom new car was a '64 1/2 Galaxie 500 fastback in Praire Bronze, with a 390. Same dealer had a white with blue interior 64 1/2 Mustang 260. Both standards. Both same price. More for money with Galaxie, and I thot Mustang looked like it wouldn't last.
The engine ended up being junk the only thing useable was the block. So it needed a new engine entirely. That’s why when the opportunity for this car popped up I couldn’t pass it up if the drivetrain was good
Sounds like you are apologizing , if its cost effective to your project, no need to explain yourself. Its your project. its Not the viewers money or time. That car has a ton of good parts. If you didn't over pay vs. parts piece by piece. you did well .
The roof is in much better shape. My first car was a 64 4 door. God, I wish I had it. Warning...if it is manual steering, it can be very hard to steer. You have such a fun life, great friends, and, a great attitude. You don't even act like lots of people in CA. I like Ripon, and Salinas. And, around the Dalton Sea. Those Galaxies usually rust in the low rear quarters, wheel , the top front headlight "hood". I have never seen one rusted on the roof in my life. I had the 352 with the Cruise O Matic. The original color of your red car is exactly the same as mine was. Mine was crushed 20 years ago...floorpans and roof were perfect. I agree with your plans. You are a smart guy with common sense in what you do. With cars, the original plan usually gets changed.
You should spend your money on getting the chassis ready for the f100 and wheels ford it and spend a weekend and swap the truck and drivetrain over to the new frame
It makes tons of sense to me plus once done switching pieces, all the less value parts from original car can go on this and have value once sold. Old wheels then make a car a roller and they are gone. I just makes sense. As you have shown many times the wiring on yours is a mess and since this is a runner, it just might make wiring yours with the spaghetti mess easier. One way or another once finished it will be someones dream. I may be odd but liked the original dash gauges over a stewart warner thing but if its yours then you have something to mock it up in then transfer it in one piece. No matter who said its cake, replacing a whole dash is fun as dating the mom and wishing it was the daughter. I do like those aftermarket wheels, sure if I was at the store I might pick something else like old school americans... the big five spoke flat magnesium of the day cause its more period correct. I sure wish it had been a console bucket seat model but not a deal breaker. That motor in the shop can be a spare for your truck and as long as you have a spare will never need. I would rather have dust than hard work on a weekend I wanted to go jet skiing. Whey to go Craig and when you feel the power of a big block your spoiled for life
Thanks for the kind words! Definitely feelin the same way. This car will make the process wayy smoother. Plus someone after me will see value in it so I’m happy.
I would most definitely If I was you . Take the wheels off the white one and put them on yours that would really look good the chrome and new tires already hack yeah . Definitely wanna hear it run can't wait man 🛠
The best thing to do is, pull that 352 out & do what a lot of people are doing. Put a chevy LS in it 6.0 with 4L80. Problem Took care of.....In my books ford engine are sludge bucket unless you change the oil every 1000 miles. Good horse power BUT to pricey cost to much to build Ford engine.....Nice car love the 60;s fords. my favorite is 40 model coup or pick-up.My uncle bought brand new 1940 model coup with the mother in law seat(Rumble seat), Love that car......
do full video in & out side & under it as well & what's the buddy asking for it on the movie truck......???? any movie document's on it in print...........
Wow parts cars down there are better then the best cars we find out here lol cars we fix here literally have no floors, truck floor, and quarters are half rusted off.
He bought this for parts, not to be another project. He even said in this video that if the car runs, he'll take it to a show in a couple months, and then start swapping parts between the two cars, making the red one his keeper, and then sell the white one.
It makes a lot of sense to buy that car as a parts car; the fact that you will be able to make it a complete one, minus the engine, should be an easy sell. If you decide to find an engine for it, and have the car inspected, you should be able to get your money back, and then some, I think. Good move.
@@Thecraig909 Someone will build it; remember, someone's trash is somebody else's treasure. As long as it is complete, someone will put it back on the road. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
First
I absolutely love the 60s era Galaxy body style, these are the cars I see in my mind when I think of old school Nascar racing.
Great video, keep up the good work your doing saving these old American classics.
Craig- you should buy a blue one as well. USA
I definitely thought about that
Craig...... fix the white one!....itll be easier......the small crap on the white one will be cheaper!
I would do a video with the truck but keep in mind with that Galaxie it's classic don't take everything from a alright car to put in a bad one and when your done with it you should give it away to a subscriber
In like the white galaxy matches the f100 .get in running and enjoy it.
just started the video and i am excited ...i am from Australia and heading to the states hopefully this year to get a galaxie...so love seeing you getting another one
Yesss! I support your wild purchasing decisions. 👍
Thanks Liv!
I think it's a great idea! And you really lucked out finding this car. I hope the motor is good!
Should leave it and not strip it for parts
Too bad you don't have the means to restore both cars. Hopefully, when you're done with it it'll go to a good home and not be scrapped.
It’ll be sold to someone who will build it.
This car is definitely a “video” car, only looks straight on camera. I fully support you exchanging parts!
Now you need a blue one!!🇺🇸
Would be awesome 427 side oiler! Or any old built fe would be badass
God I wish I could find one of these galaxies around me. Absolute dream cars
should prob take the rear since its for the bigger engine.. pull the wiring harness for your car also.
Planned on swapping rear ends too. And I’m getting a new harness in general
That big block car is worth putting the money into to fix more than your small block one is, especially if that is the original numbers matching 4brl big block.. That intake alone is seriously rare being a factory aluminum 4brl intake, typically the rare time you had 4brl intakes they were cast iron.
I think what u really should do is sand it down and clear coat it an make it like a frank and stein hot rod dont go striping it and selling it
You might want to check the rear end as ford like to run different rear ends for the big blocks than the ones in the small block ones.
Yea if I remember this car still had an 8” but might have better gears or axles. I’ll have to look closer
@@Thecraig909 well a 352 should be ok with an 8" rear. If it was a 390 or bigger I would tell you that you might want to look for a 9" rear.
That's a great car because it will give you you're FE motor mount frame stands. Most interioer most likely a 9 inch, and also I know you will probably run that motor because you have it but why not make it a 390 or bigger cubes or simply a 390? Just to have some more power.
I'll probably subscribe when there is a Galaxie playlist!
Perfect parts car in my opinion. But,I'm so glad you're gonna put tags on it & drive it. It would look pretty cool if it had wheels & hub caps just like your truck. Just a thought.
In Australia we call the paint work on the white galaxy as a jam job to make it look pretty for sale looking at the current state it was awhile ago 😊
Ah a jam job I like it! That’s basically this for sure
Good choice the Galaxy needs the big block because of the weight.
My Family had one of those Galaxy 500s in the early seventies it was nice to ride around in. It was light blue.
Awesome!
Nice. Love that charger tho. One of my dream cars.
I had to do the same thing with a c-3 Corvette. The parts car saved me a ton of money on the parts I needed, and then I was able to sell the parts car later and recoup at least some of my investment. Sometimes it's the only thing that makes sense.
No way!!! I actually looked at this car and was about to buy it a couple months earlier. I ended up buying another galaxie with a few more options
Haha rad man glad you got one!
That's a good lookin car!
Makes sense good call
Absolutely better for parts sourcing. It will save a ton of time.
Exactly.
Money is unlimited to Craig 😆
Strip all the parts off you need and turn the White one into a drift car
Love it what you are doing keep it coming
A Ford Galaxie 500? Cool!

I like the white one better I would fix it up

There is(or was) one of the trucks in Branson Missouri. In a museum. I have always loved that truck. Really want it ngl.
Same. It’s just expensive for what the truck actually is unfortunately.
@@Thecraig909 might have build my own then 🤷♂️
Make the white one a daily and build the red one. Jus sayin.

That car turned high 15's low 16's in the quarter. Had over drive. Top end over 130.
Welcome to Fordaholics Anonymous Craig. :D
I love it.
good buy! Unless i lost track, didn't you already start rebuilding the other engine in the red Galaxie? What will become of that build?
The engine ended up being junk the only thing useable was the block. So it needed a new engine entirely. That’s why when the opportunity for this car popped up I couldn’t pass it up if the drivetrain was good

i see where youre coming from but what's going to happen to the 302 you spent a bunch of money on? is it for your truck now?
I got some parts from it but it wasn’t worth rebuilding it. Only the block was good. So this car gives me a solid big block
Craig I would be very happy with car looks good to me

Nice dude black interior is gonna look killer :D
Oh definitely I’m stoked
i would have loved to had the white '64 to restomod! would look great next to my '64 Falcon Sprint, the Baby Brother!
I saw the Fast and Furious truck on an old episode of The Car Chasers not that long ago. They rerun that show to death.
The hard cranking sounds like timing to advanced to me, wind the timing out of it and I bet it’d start
Good plan 👍 brother
Love that galaxie!
Great find dude! I admit when this popped up, I was gonna be pissed if you didn't fix the Galaxie.
Oh it’s my top priority rn. That’s why there aren’t any new things on the truck.
get it going and drive it
Put the efi 5.0 in the white 500, or the red one
Make it match your truck that be sick
True!
Hope you still keep the 64 galaxie
Definitely keeping the red one
Damn the interior is clean
U should come to crusing grand in Escondido

Iv got a completely rebuilt 360FE in my 68 f100 4 speed short box
Dang! That white Galaxy, what to do_ hmm? The things I could do to bring that car back to the street. Thanx 4 the update.
Use carb cleaner, not starting fluid it washes the oil down the cylinders carb cleaner does not!
Probably cut out all of the rust from the front fenders and thats what was left.
what rims are those called ? nd the size too
I suppose I should have watched the whole thing before I suggested the body swap.still good deal!
Guardians of the Galaxy !
Clara Engl Guradian of the Galaxies. But you are the original
Very cool!
Change the wheels from the white one to the red one, nice parts car🤘
