Love the vids, you are insanely crafty. And to think I was proud of myself for putting on a tail tidy... you're over here welding radiator caps on. Nice work.
Sir.. I have seen your videos. First I have to say that I have MAD respect for your knowledge of bikes. Many times I was lost in the sauce of your fixes. (I am learning though.) But.... The not knowing about the GSXR clutch start.. yeah.. (I own a GSXR 750).. made me giggle a little... I 1-2 kewl points lost.. but not to worry.. You have a crap ton of points to spare. Ty for the video. I am sure I will reference this video in the future when I have to work in my bike. Big respect to you for putting up the video! TYVM!
If you feel like a complete idiot, let me say that i did call my mechanic when my new motorcycle "doesn't start", i was not close to my home and i never chequed the neutral led. He still laughing at me. Excelent video. Very relaxing and gratifyng!
No I will be selling this for profit, because I need the money. When I get bigger I’ll probably give one away but right now I can’t afford to give away a couple thousand dollars.
Benjamin, great video bro 👌 listen l have a 2014 gsxr 1000 and l want to polish my frame but lm not sure how to remove the black coating on the frame do you have any suggestions ? Is there a chemical i can use ? Which would keep the aluminum smooth. 🤔 thank you in advance bro
Aweasome content, as always! Nice job! Good to know about the clutch safety in the gixxer - in my Honda you dont have to pull the clutch in if the bike is in Neutral.
Are the bikes that you purchase all private sales or do you ever buy from auctions? If they are auction bikes, do they have salvage titles? I looked into this a bit myself and in Georgia it seems to be more trouble than its worth to change the title status from salvage to rebuilt.
When you started cutting the radiator cap off I nearly shit myself. You were cutting towards your hand (shudder, shudder, shudder) somehow you survived that though I am not sure how. An interesting rebuild though.
@@Benjamminoutdoors That’s not an issue bro. I watch all you videos because you are doing some backyard builds and that not a downer saying that so please don’t take it that way bro. Keep up the great work bro and if i see something i will message you.
There is no way that an alloy frame with that kind of damage can be safely fixed. If you put that frame back on the road with that kind of damage it is a potential death trap. The alloy will have micro fractures in it. Over time, vibration will cause the micro fractures to run. That frame could easily fracture suddenly and catastrophically.
Highly doubt it but I’ll be test riding this to 180 mph when I’m done. if it breaks it’ll break when I’m riding it. This year Gsxr isn’t known for cracking frames like the 08s either.
@@Benjamminoutdoors Dude, it's unlikely to fail straight away. It takes time for vibration to propagate the micro fractures. It may never fail, but it quite possibly could. That frame is a time bomb, and it could fail at any point. If you took it to any reputable place that straightens/repairs frames, they would tell you that the frame is a write-off. I'm not trying to rain on your parade dude, just want you to know that alloy frames with that kind of damage can't safely be put back into service.
Correct me if I’m wrong but you are the person who keeps stealing all my deals on cheap bikes in the Georgia area. If so... I request you plz let me get 1 of them lol. Love the videos

Love this channel but your attempt to salvage that radiator was highly optimistic. That thing is hella bent out of shape. Also not attempting to check for a clutch safety lol cmon dude.
Like I said in the video I repaired the radiator for testing purposes I was going to buy another one later (if the bike wasn’t in good running condition I wasn’t gonna spend 150 bucks on the radiator). I’ve maybe had 1 out of 25 bikes I’ve own where I’ve had to pull in the clutch when it’s a neutral to start it, it was stupid mistake on my part but it just slipped my mind.
@@Benjamminoutdoors I’ve had work mates pushing my bike to jump it cos the starter motor wouldn’t work and after 15mins of trying noticed I had the kill switch on 😂😂
NO. You are not an idiot. Great work. Same thing can happen with the kickstand, simply forget.
Damn I wish I had a buddy like you to build me a cheap stunt bike.

Yeah this is actually my first Gsxr so now I know, and I’m not too worried about the frame but i am going to repair then torture test it.

BTW Nice bike shop
haha I was thinking 'Why he not touching the clutch?' you are human after all man.
LOL yeah, honestly I don’t think any of my previous bikes required me to pull the clutch in, unless it was in gear for me to start it.
that clutch safety is really cool though
Lol I was typing out the clutch switch as you figured it out. I dont know why the gsxr has it and the cbr don’t
