How is it one small country can virtually single handedly create the modern world and so many of the things that benefit humanity including so much of the world's finest music...
Creative prowess enhanced by the immense homely vocal versatility of the midlands: Robert Plant, Ozzy Osboorne, Geoff Lynn , Noddy Holder just to name a few.
@@peterfraney7931not to mention the north west of England with the Liverpool and Manchester bands, that’s before we even get to all the great London bands, infact the uk as a whole is just a creative paradise for the best music that’s played around the world for the last 60-70 years.
Class then, class now. Slade never gets enough air play, save for the few that always get played around Christmas. Most underrated band ever. Trend setters in the 70s and fantastic musicians. Well written and presented songs. Long may they perform.
By far!! The 60s music was fantastic and there was still quite a lot of good stuff in the 80s-90s but I would be perfectly happy to only listen to 70s music forever.
When i hear this im transported back to the70s and smile remembering how happy people were and memories of my first girlfriend my flaired trousers and my chopper bike wishni could go back 😊
I need to make one more post before my demise, Because we never know do we. This guy Noddy Holder, entertained me, and countless millions of others, and just want to say to the knockers, This guy didn't just shout, he could sing any song, such as this classic.
It was a big hit! UK no 15 and went silver, it was very late in Slade's heyday and they had stopped getting to no1 by then. Like many great UK acts they could not break the US and had very limited success outside the UK which is a great shame. John Lennon singing this? Are you mad? Lennon did not have much of a voice, just a dull droan really, and he had no power to do what Noddy does.
John Lennon voice just a dull droan? Not if you listen to Twist and Shout, Rock and Roll Music and Mr Moonlight just to mention a few, but we're all entitled to our opinions.
@@Zoro007 I do tend to upset people with any criticism of the drab four but keeping it friendly I would say - The three tracks you list are early belters from the group. As we are here with Noddy Holder I would say Noddy, Meatloaf and Freddie all have depth in their strong voices but Lennon just seems a bit strained and over forced to me. If you listen to Revolution the intro promises so much and then when Lennon starts singing it is such a disappointment. Noddy would have blown the doors off (like the start of all crazee now) Lennon is just dull singing Revolution. I find most of what the Beatles do a bit dull and very over rated. Listen without the hype and you will see the light!!
And movie 😎👍‼️Noddy slashes the tyres on the band’s gig van because he’s in a rival band at the start…. Which leads to the line which I still use today “Is it flat?!? It’s as flat as a witch’s tit!” 🤣👍
Slade was the first band to break the records set by the Beatles. For that alone, they belong in the Hall of Fame. But no, we get Donna Summer and Dolly Parton in there instead. Rolling Stone Magazine is full of shit.

I grew up in the 70's. A fantastic time as we had the best music
By far!! The 60s music was fantastic and there was still quite a lot of good stuff in the 80s-90s but I would be perfectly happy to only listen to 70s music forever.
And haircuts that took time....
Probably one of the best records of the 70's it is criminal it only reached 15 in the charts
Agree one of Slades best --- how it was not a No1 is strange; it has age well .
When i hear this im transported back to the70s and smile remembering how happy people were and memories of my first girlfriend my flaired trousers and my chopper bike wishni could go back 😊
Doesn't get any better than this from the one and only Noddy Holder !

The Gallaghers can only dream of ever writing anything better than Noddy and Jim Lea
Great song as others have said, I could really hear John Lennon sing this, fantastic structure to verses, should've been a big hit really.
I enjoy my YT travels. I've never heard this before and it's well n good. I can hear Lennon in this too Zoro mate

Met noddy bilston in trumpet ace glen worked at coles 16 years merry xmass and new year
Clever man Noddy did well at school loads of o levels etc
👍 One of my favorites but quite unknown and underrate in my opinion. Still looking for a live version.
It's on the recently released album Slade at the New Victoria Theatre.
Yeah Noddy ❤😂 love you man😂
The end song..Slade in flame1 classic.
This came up on the 43-track "Best of" album. I guess I miss it first time around. But I love catching up on them all.

The definition of a ‘strong song’
Class!
Best Slade song for me.
Slade were so accomplished as a band, they would have been successful in any decade !
Not now though, the wokey-dope media doesn`t like promoting white bands anymore.
Classic 😊
Reminds me of a good friend I lost
never got enough stateside airplay
My first vinyl the b side flame ❤
For ever after ❤
The mighty Slade,, if only the original line up would get together again, I'm sure they would be just as big again
Saw them before they hit the big time doing Born to be Wild etc, we came away saying they were going to be big just not quite as Glam Rock 🙂
I hate the fade out! This song has a great ending!
Cheers Nod, hows it going? much planned for the weekend? Can you get us a crate of mild from Holdens? Love pal since 72' ATB, M
I recomend the full album version. Nobodys Fool
actually it was from Slade in Flame
@@glassblade True. My blunder, many apple-ogies.
@@ianwarren7438 no worries - both superb albums!
@@glassblade my favourite Slade album. Every track a classic
❤️
Level head needed❤
SLADE впервые слышу эту группу !
Slade, not Noddy solo.
From the In Flame album / movie 1972. I’ve got the album on C90 cassette somewhere….. 😎👍
I'm sure that Noel Gallagher has said that this is greatest song written...
and yes I believe it is..
Slade Rocks
Brilliant. Never heard this before even though I remember Slade as a young kid.
Kurva tooniga aga Hea. 😶🎶💫. 🐰

Slade and The Beatles in the same sentence is just nonsense
@@HollyB-b3t FACTS ARE FACTS. I don't give a fuck about your opinion.
Yes Slade were much better !
I ♥️ Slade
He looked so much like James Acaster
I think you'll find James Acaster looks like Noddy Holder.
From a film I believe
Flame
Cut her some slack ❤
Completely left of field when compared with their usual style/message. But, sometimes you gotta just get it out, whatever, the cost may be.
cut short
Wouldnt be out of place on a Beatles album . There can be no higher praise
Класс! Это все из юности.
what a f*** bass line
Wow what ever happened along the way .? You guys should be right up with todays so called artist's. Slade rule ok.
shit,,
It feels crap
Crap means crap.
