I don't know personally what they use but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. Another great scanner for large objects is the Surphaser. In this video you can see us 3D scan a BMW. ruclips.net/video/gX9azpzSy2o/видео.html
the mesh should be water tight for the 3d print, the size is of course the actual size of the object, but you are free to scale it in any post processing software according to the requierements.
iF IT IS SCANNED INTO SOLID WORKS, i CAN EXPORT THE NATIVE FILE AND MOST SCANNING SOFTWARE CAN READ AND PRINT THE FILE. STL FILES ARE ALSO COMMON FILE TYPES THAT INTERFACE WELL WITH THE DIFFERENT SCANNERS.
hdr mode allows you to scan with 2 different shutter time in one session; this is a useful function when you scan a multicoloured object, e.g. dull-shiny or bright-dark surfaces
The scanner comes with the basic scan collection software only. To build CAD models from scan data you need a software product like Geomagic Design X, VX Model, Geomagic for Solidworks, Xtract 3D or similar programs.
@@rollandelliott those scanners are industrial devices; most of the companies in automotive and aerospace industry use such scanners for their inspection and quality control applications
.....so more than 5k?? lol ? i'm curious myself because i've been looking for a quality 3d scanner that i could buy for myself WITHOUT selling my house for it...

Double click the main button on the scanner.
Hi guys
My question would be after scanning the parts how could you 3d print it?
And would it come out the same size of the part that was printed

what is the easiest program on computer that can be used for this type of scanner
The scanners comes with the software shown on video and then it can export to most CAD file formats.
