I would just like to emphasize how many good tips this video contains. We primarily do large scans with the handyscan black elite, and there was at least one thing here i didn't know and will have to test out at first given opportunity. We usually divide the scan entirely, targets and all. But here it looks as though we can scan all the targets at once, and then settle for dividing the actual scan. That needs to be tested.

Hey Whiskey Throttle. Thanks for the comments. Not only should you 3D scan all the targets first make sure and click "Optimize Volume Accuracy" under the "Scan Parameters". This will ensure you get the best accuracy over the entire part. You can go back and 3D scan sections and output them separately but always 3D scan all the targets first. Save the targets into a file and reload for each new scan. Good luck.

@@EMS3D Thank you very much. And doing so will not worsen the cumulative "drift" like when you just scan a large diameter tank by walking from one end to the other? Does creaform treat target acquisition different than scanning somehow? They (creaform) are coming to visit next month and I could ask them then, but I'm curious.

Hello, I am using the go scan 50 on version 6.3 of VXElements. I can't seem to find the option to scan just the positioning targets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Troy, in older versions of VX Elements and the GoSCAN 50 that option does not exist. A work around is to set the resolution very large (5 mm), 3D scan the part/targets and then output just the targets into a file.
