    Incredible device. A great technical achievement indeed. CONGRATS! gorgeous design and definitely great knowledge of object scanning. Amazingly just a bunch of viewers... What's the heck? This video is an academy-award contender in its special category!

    I just have to say, if you are looking for a 3d scanner, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't speak with Mark/EMS. We have experienced excellent customer service with everyone from Mark (the owner) to the application engineers and even the office manager.
    Regarding the HandyScan Black, we only have one complaint - that we didn't purchase these instead of the Faro arms back when we first started up. I used to view having to use targets as a negative aspect, but now that I have seen the light, I don't see much use in scanning with the Faro.
    Big props to Mark and his team. Go check them out!

    What a great tool. Are these scanners safe to take on a plane as hand carry?
    As we will need to be able to travel with them to various locations around the world.

    • @EMS3D
      @EMS3D  13 дней назад

      Yes, we travel with these 3D scanners all the time. The smaller scanners like the HandySCAN we carry onto the plane and the larger ones we check as baggage. All Creaform 3D scanners come in Pelican cases with plenty of foam for protection.

      Thanks. Yes the Creaform system and software and very impressive. And to think you can go all the way down to .1mm as shown in this video. ruclips.net/video/2wozZ7XjxvI/видео.html

    Is it possible to use for plastic injection molding steel?. As for this type of steel it is more shiny than the one you scanned in the video.

    • @EMS3D
      @EMS3D  3 года назад

      Yes it should be able to 3D scan it.

    I am looking to scan 3D objects to make them game asset ready, meaning low triangle amounts. Is there a retopology/cleanup function in the software where the scanned 3D model gets reduced or cleaned up in triangle size until several thousand triangles, but keeps its accurate shape?

    • @EMS3D
      @EMS3D  Год назад

      Yes there is a decimate tool in VX Elements that allows you to reduce the triangle count.

    Ok, once you get your polygonal model what software are you putting that into to get your NURBS patch? Also can this be turned into a solid model after filling the holes and regeneration of Radii etc. and which CAD software do you recommend with it.

    • @EMS3D
      @EMS3D  3 года назад

      Hey Tim, there are many options as to which reverse engineering software you want to use to create surface and/or solid model geometry. Here is a video we made comparing four different reverse engineering software programs ruclips.net/video/phO-yahGsVg/видео.html

      @@EMS3D Design X is top of the line, but it is expensive, and if you want to use the live transfer feature, you have to have a copy of the software you are wanting to transfer into installed on that computer as well. If you transfer into several different softwares (solidworks, inventor, etc.), it can get very expensive...

    Wish the scanner could track itself without tracking dots like modern VR headsets. Lighthouse + Vive tracker should do it.

    • @EMS3D
      @EMS3D  3 года назад +2

      Hi Rupert, the only way to track itself with the accuracy it can achieve (25 microns /.0009") targets are required. We have 3D scanners that don't require any targets and use geometry but they are not as accurate.

      Hi Kapil, the targets are used for the scanners positioning. The video goes into great detail on how this works.
