I'm re-watching your old videos and came to this one and had to smile. Early on you're describing the Case tractor and brush-hog and saying "You don't need two tractors, so we'll sell the Case", that from a man who now uses four(!) tractors. Just made me laugh.🤩🤩🤩
Tractors are like guitars and classic motorcycles. You can never have enough! Really a guy should have at least three tractors and one should have a front end loader.
Actually, having two tractors is a very good idea. You can have different attachments on each of them while you are doing certain jobs and you'll finish the job much faster.
Best decision I ever made was keeping my smaller tractor when I needed to buy a larger one. I was on the fence for a long time prior but in the end having 2 tractors makes life easier and more efficient even if there is only one driver.
That old case is one hell of a restore project! Damned shame to get rid of it, unless the buyer knows about case tractors and wants to restore it. I wish I could afford a project like that.
Nice video. You shouldn’t sell that case. It always nice to just have a 2nd tractor around just Incase something happens to the other one. And them case tractors run forever.
Well, you prolly sold it by now, but I'd have kept them both. There's always a reason to have another tractor. Although you don't seem like a tractor lover, which is fine. If I had your place, I'd have at least three, lol.
You should always have 2 tractors especially if ones paid for. If you farmed any you'd really understand hooking up crap is a pain leave attachments hooked up
I had to call/email about 20 local tree companies before I found one to drop off wood chips at my place for free-- and the owner told me it really helps him out! Good luck in your search, thanks for sharing!
Hi Evan, just going back through some of you older videos. This gives me some update to the things that you and your wife did to get where your at today. Thanks
If you buy aSouthern truck, there is usually no rust. We found a 2012 Nissan Frontier with tow package, and can pull 7k lbs. 148k miles. 4 wheel drive. We dickered with the dealership and got it for something we can live with. Then i was able to sell my 15 year old 5 cyl. Canyon, to someone who needed a work truck. It was well cared for.
Your making good decisions about equipment. It is tempting to buy new expensive equipment. One of the things I do to fight the temptations is to take the cost of the equipment I want to buy and divide it by the cost of a unit of livestock to add to the farm. So often the equipment will not have a payback in its lifetime. Hay equipment is one of the best examples. You can buy good hay cheaper than putting it up yourself when you take the cost of the equipment, fuel and up keep in consideration. Plus you bring on to your farm the nutrients from the seller’s land nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash. You can also stock pile grass for winters grazing by not cutting hay.
Hitches and wiring are relatively cheap so I assume you meant you were looking for a truck with a factory tow package. Otherwise just buy a truck and add the hitch and wiring.
I called power company ask when they was n the area cleaning roadside if they need to dump. They called me at 8 am me at morning. Usually they take to dump or to river for barge to take away.
take heart ,a day at a time. you'll get there. no worries, it took me ten years of hump work too get my place set up where it made me any money. then fifteen more of living the life. it pays too have two tractors, as you will always have one broke down, at some point. a front end loader bucket would be best if you can find a back hoe, that would work best. as you never know when you'll need one. you can find the item's needed at a cheaper price. pasture land will make you about 6.00 an acres, if you can get two cuttings ,well you get the point. it is the storage that costs mostly. with stock, figure ten bales a month, plus vet fees.'I found that farming makes the best life, cost wise. you can sell what you can ,live off what is left. but your going too need at least two hands, on a daily work table. more the bigger the land usage. they cost the most, unless you have family involved. think a heard of goats, pigs, chickens, cows, even a few horses. you never know when you get stuck ,and there will be times that you do, that they will be the only way out. then there are the shop tools, and other tools that you'll need to have available. but they're another issue. think barn sales, and auctions. always have a few grand on hand, as most are cash only. but you can find great deals, if you have it on hand.well best of luck.
Livestock...on 41 acres? Gonna be a big challenge! If cattle you'll need half that acreage for grazing and the other half for hay. Maybe up to 10 head max unless you're thinking goats or sheep. Several people have replied about keeping the Case. I agree. You wont get much for it even with the mower. As others have mentioned...if your Allis goes tango uniform what then? Keep both tractors until you purchase your 4 wheel drive...then sell the Case. I understand that as a family you want to be up and running as soon as possible. It will happen but look forward to ongoing...not a year or two. Finally, best keep a close eye on the little black dog when it's out. Hawks and owls like morsels that size as well as coyotes.
$15k + for a 10 year old truck, wow. I would have thought with so many in the US they would be inexpensive to buy second hand. Clearly my thinking was wrong. I hope it provides you with many care free years of motoring. Best of luck to you both.
As I watched your video I cannoyyyt get over how green the grass was because we haven’t seen any of that in the Midwest for so long. I like the looks of your truck but it is shocking that it cost you $10,000 for a truck with 150,000 miles on it. My son has been looking for a truck for a long time and he finally Got frustrated and bought a truck that needed brakes and some other parts thinking he could fix it himself and it’s been two months and that truck still isn’t running because we’ve had such extreme heat and he works 60 to 70 hours a week and no Time on the weekends since he works six or seven days a week to work on it!❣️❣️❣️ and now my vehicle is down that he borrowed to the tune of $1500 repair bill… Very very frustrated with the money gouging it is going on with automobiles and groceries and everything else for that matter. I was hoping you were going to have a little auction or something on the things you were getting rid of… So disappointing but good luck on everything you’re selling because everybody is trying to make money off of the things they can sal
How big is you garden going to be. You might consider black heavy plastic it will compost and you can reuse it. The other thing is start with a quick yard of top soil and add to it depending how much kitchen scraps. Try just the kitchen scraps first turn it once a week or so . Soon your going to see lots of worms then you can stat mixing in more top soil pretty soon this will start continuously supplying black gold you start tilling into your garden the results will be ridiculous.
When you say "full tow pack" does it have extra transmission fluid cooler (small radiator) separate from the water radiator oil cooling ? If not, it does not have a full tow pack which my shorten your auto transmission life.
@@CountryViewAcres I'm just trying to get an idea the price range on farm equipment. thanks for replying. Im new to your channel and am binge watching. The information you provide is invaluable.
@@kellyjoyce2399 my advice is buy a tractor that is diesel, has a standard 3 point hitch. Alot of these old tractors have different hitches and slow hydraulics. You probably want some 1980s and newer. Skid steer quick attach on the loader is nice to have also.
For what it is what it does, the shape it's in and the fact that it doesn't have computers & ecocommunism in the engine I'm thinking it's 7.5 low 10k high. Still got plenty of life left it out with decent parts availability.
I went to the NRCS office. Once I have fenced in pastures and livestock, Grant's may be available for additional fencing or a infrastructure. But right now, no, I have to have a working farm first.
be a mistake to get rid of one and not have a tractor to backup your allis especially since its paid for when your allis went out how long were you out of a tractor and now you want to do hay

You: "So you can rake while I bale."
Tractors are like guitars and classic motorcycles. You can never have enough! Really a guy should have at least three tractors and one should have a front end loader.
I compare old tractors to old rifles. They just don't make em like they used to. I'd love to rebuild that old case!
I didn't end up selling the case tractor. Everyone talked me out of it.
That's a great old tractor.
That is one cool old tractor. Reminds me of some kind of personal transportation machine from Star Wars ...
I've got four tractors...I tell my wife I need all of them in case she wants to borrow one.
Actually, having two tractors is a very good idea. You can have different attachments on each of them while you are doing certain jobs and you'll finish the job much faster.
I know what you mean. Changing implements can be so time consuming sometimes.
Best decision I ever made was keeping my smaller tractor when I needed to buy a larger one. I was on the fence for a long time prior but in the end having 2 tractors makes life easier and more efficient even if there is only one driver.
Scrap the front end loader on the AC and keep the tractor for haying, and mowing. Then buy a loader bucket to fit the TYM.
I enjoy your channel a little bit of everything😍
That old case is one hell of a restore project! Damned shame to get rid of it, unless the buyer knows about case tractors and wants to restore it. I wish I could afford a project like that.

I used to work for a allis dealer when I was younger in the 70s! I'd keep the case and sell the allis and buy the attachments for the case!
Well, you prolly sold it by now, but I'd have kept them both. There's always a reason to have another tractor. Although you don't seem like a tractor lover, which is fine. If I had your place, I'd have at least three, lol.
Were blessed down here in Texas in that rust on trucks is never an issue.
The Case looks like a good project tractor.
Lived in central IL for nearly 30 years. I Soon learned to buy my used vehicles down south! Road "salt" kills the IL vehicles😢😢😢.

Joe Soslick they are also great for firewood. Often you can get firewood for cheap, or if you come get it it’s free.
Great video, good plan to sell those items and reinvest in the things you need to accomplish your goals. Truck looks great
Great plan for the future of retirement. Love how green and lush your property looks. You got Spring already!
Congrats on finding an older truck with low mileage and no rust. good luck selling your stuff.
You have a PLAN. Wishing you all the best. Thank you for sharing.

Happy selling and buying.
Take an extra utility trailer to a mill and park it under their chip chute. Have them call you when it is full. Works for us in Texas.
the dr wood chipper is great for graining corn an hay mixing for ur chickens an turkey i used one for years
I’d keep the case. Growing up we had a 930 case and that thing ran through anything
The rust comes from the salt they use on the roads in winter. My 2004 GMC Sierra has zero rust on it as they do not use salt on our roads.

i've got also 2 tractors(little one's) but i keep them both. and when my wife tells me to sell one....she can go!
Great video! Loved watching! We are going to upload videos soon!
Keep the Case. I have a 1965 730ck Case, may be a bit cantankerous from time to time, but I love it. They dont make them like her anymore.
What a find on that truck!
Here in the Pacific Northwest our vehicles are usually without rust. We have a 2004 Ford Edge and no rust anywhere on it.
Wow Really nice truck .
Nice truck....congrat...
I was actualy thinking about retiring in the same way one day however as 24 years old i think i have a year or two to think about it :D
Nice truck!
Whatever you do, don't have an auction. We just had one and got totally ripped.
You have to look but all trucks come prewired. Even Ford Explorer and mercury mountaineers were pre you just needed to find the plug.
Beware of chopped up poison ivy in the chips! I got 8 free tractor trailer loads and we had no poison ivy in the yard til that happened! Lol
never sell a tractor u have already ! 4 wheel drive gets stuck in mud just as easily, u"ll regret selling

Don’t do it keep both tractors you always need 2 tractors on the farm case one breaks down
Smart move to get the equipment you want for the farm.
I cannot imagine having a "homestead" or farm of 41 acres, and not having a truck.

For 5,000 years of human history, people have struggled to acquire the "stuff of life."
Now the struggle is to GET RID OF IT!

Trucks are really expense. That same truck brand new is around $40,000. I dont know how anyone can afford to buy brand new.
Great deal.
My old 2010 f150 had the 7 pin electrical trailer connection and brake controller from factory
All these trucks have a plug in wiring harness for towing.
When that truck gets to 130000 you better sell it cause at 140 motor is trash cause of can phasers
A tree service like for your high line elec Co will bring you all the wood chips that you want check it out.

Come to Arizona we don’t have rust on our vehicles
Excellent, beautiful place!!! Is the rust issue from the roads being salted in the winter?
Not sure why, but all trucks rust around here. The expedition is rusted out under 3 of the four doors. I am hoping to avoid that as long as possible.
Your crazy selling that case ,very collectable , don't it suck swapping tractor around all the time ,add up the time you swap equipment for one season
If you looked at the pinned Comment. I didn't sell the tractor, everyone talked me out of it.
They older stuff is more economical. But if you have the means enjoy a new tractor. Start your own tradition and pass to a family member.
One Ford owner to another, I say , NICE truck
When you say "full tow pack" does it have extra transmission fluid cooler (small radiator) separate from the water radiator oil cooling ? If not, it does not have a full tow pack which my shorten your auto transmission life.
Mirrors alone cost an extra 900 dollars.
Anything but a Ford. Hope you can fix or repair daily
Thumbs up
I would be interested in old Horse feed sacks if you have any left
They are all gone.
Keep the Case. It will outlast your new one.
So, you do need more tractors :) In fact, you can't have enough tractors :)
Not sure but ive known people who have used wood chippers to grind corn
👍🤠
Farm in progress 😁
If you are planning children let them drive it
Buddy u need two tractors..
Yes, lots if people had that same opinion and I have been convinced to keep this tractor.
@@CountryViewAcres thank god! Hallelujah!
For what it cost you I would keep the CASE It is diesel...
Always need a second tractor
I'd give you 10 grand for that. I've got 8 tractors that style I collect and restore
For 10 grand it is yours.
How do you chop the hay with only 1 tractor when you need 3 tractors
We are selling things we do not need also.
If you think trucks these days are rusty, you weren't around in the 1970's
If you want your truck, not to rest do not park in the grass you show this video because that is a bad thing that causes rust God bless
You always need two tractors lol
Dont sell the old tractor it want bring much you need 2 tractors i just got one tractor it blew a head gasket now i have had to hire my hay baled.
You never have enough tractors
how much did you pay for the allis chalmers tractor w/all attachments?
Probably too much. I believe I paid $5000. Tractor, loader, 3 bottom plow, 10 foot disc, brush hog and rear blade.
