Hi.... Evan and Rebecca thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Always unplug meat-processing equipment before working on it. It is easy to bump a switch and lose fingers or an arm. I once saw a man lose the lower half of an arm when he bumped the switch on a grinder he was trying to clear.
Yanks for you
100 dollars for the band saw and 50 dollars for the tenderizer!! good luck!!
got my coffee,,,I guess I am the contrarian, I thought 200 for the saw and 50 for the tenderizer was a fair price.
If you need rain hook up your haybine and watch those clouds roll in. Lol
Just a thought...for all the people that don't know...maybe do a video on how Rebecca does her magic in the kitchen on the tomatoes or other canning/preserving garden items
Considering the condition of the equipment fair price would be scrap value. Lots of work ahead
Growing up in our family owned butchers, I cleaned the bandsaw and the tenderizer at the end of every day. The tenderizer is going to use some real good cleaning, the bandsaw can be cleaned up with a pressure washer. If it were my decision, I would feel that $100 would be a good starting price for both.
Not that I own onw or ever will, but what kind of lubricant would you use on machine that comes in contact with food?
@@silentvoiceinthedark5665believe it or not wd40 is apparently approved for use around food....
@@MrBubbahunt9 I use PAM spray on hand cranked veg slicer.
I think 150 for both
Agree.
It was terrific that the seller told you to pay him what it is worth. But your labor cost will be high, and likely exceed the resale value for functioning equipment. In reality, it is worth scrap value. At auction, these tools will not sell. Maybe you should offer him a nominal price, say $200. I spray kaolin clay on my fruit trees. It is a completely organic method for preventing fly damage. Flys will not lay eggs on fruit with a thin layer of clay. The clay washes off easily after harvest. Good luck. I love your videos. Especially Rebekah wearing sandals in the barnyard, a real country girl.
Golly lots of vegetables to be preserved need to keep up with them as they grow . WOW. Apples I got way more on two little trees in back yard so sad lots of money for that few apples. learn as you go.
\
Butcher Boy is an old company from the 1920's and is still making equipment and selling parts. Those 2 things are pretty rough. I would offer $100 for both.
You will need quite a few parts to get it usable - guides blades , blade cleaners , probably some new bearings, guide rollers for slide table. iwold give hime 150 total for both machines or less.
One needs washing and a smidgen of grease, the other needs washing and a smidgen of grease as well as a band. Then there's being not even fair, but reasonable so you gotta be looking at 400 - 500 bucks.
In addition I know from watching you ain't one for preservation, but dont paint either of these, wash them with a damp cloth followed by some sort of cleansing alcohol and you've preserved your tools original look and they will work just as good as if you rattle can them nad make them look like crap. Your tools, your call 👍🏻
You look cuter in boots anyway Rebecca👌🏼🇺🇸
got my coffee,,,lookey here, somebody got another project!
Hand Tool Rescue from RUclips would be the guy I’d ask to restore those items.
Hi friends. I pick my apples in the evening (on cooler nights, if possible). The hornets and wasps tend to be in their hives when it's dark or cold
Safety third lol. Maybe unplug the grinder before taking it apart?
My grandfather had a butcher boy saw just like that. We used it alot to cut up meat.Just clean it up with bleach. Its got a lot of aluminum in it. You don't need to repaint. Just buff the rust and touch up paint. The meat tenderizer, please unplug it when working on it. Your hands don't need to be the first thing tenderized.
Can not wait to see you in the next video mate when you start fixing your new machines great video as always thanks again.
I would, say 100, apiece for each and a couple packages of meat, one with tenderize meat like veal cutlets as a gesture of good will.
Thanks again for a great video! I was born and raised in Michigan and apple picking was a way of life. I remember as a kid picking up apples from the ground that were called seconds. They were also sold but you had to know they were probably bruised from the fall and would not last long. There was a time when we had 6 vegetable gardens at one time due to 4H. Canning and freezing was a way of life back then. Thanks for sharing and waking up the old memories.... George
Kudos….Always interesting to see what is going on at your farm/homestead 👍👍👍
They both work, so im thinking 200-300 for both. Sounds like the guy just wants them gone. That meat saw itself is goes for well over 1000.00 used. bearings are cheap and a little elbow grease will work wonders. i love your channel and following along.
I froze tomatoes last year. I took them out in Dec. when they thawed out they went to complete mush.
Already squished to become sauce.
Always unplug old malfunctioning equipment when doing a repair.
As you have no Idea how the previous owner repaired the item, nor if the item when shaken, will jump power and begin operating unexpectedly, due to loose debris, like a washer or nut.
Given this device could do a serious number on flesh, I would advise in the future, using more caution.
Sorry to be a worry wart, just Like to keep folks safe, where able.
Especially those I appreciate.
I think your payment is more of a gesture - $200 is generous given how much work they will need.
In Illinois we had Thermal gas and our tank we could smell gas leaking. So called them up to check it out and do know they filled it instead. So a few more calls and nothing happened. Next can went to Suburban gas and asked them to start using them and they came out the next day put their tank in and removed the propane from old tank. Had to call the other place to pick up the tank which they did without any questions. We had a plumber come to our new house and replace water heater add a water softener and install 2 toilets. Tried many times calling them because the softener wouldn't do the rejuvenation as needed so called another plumber to come in and look at it.
Our summer was so wet in Maine, my apples look crappy and I'm not super interested in picking them this year
19:04 Para que os recipiente de vidro não quebrem ao ferver deve-se colocar um pano grosso tipo toalha no fundo da panela.
Segredo da grandmother!
🤝👍
That old Butcher Boy is very similar to what we had in the 1960’s we farm butchered ,Beef hogs , chicken , turkeys , Ginny fowl and ducks . The one we had was equipped with a separate drive for a grinder as well although we didn’t use it as we had a larger Hobart .
We had a walk in freezer and my dad would hang the primal cuts and before finish cutting and packing he would almost freeze the piece so it would cut easily and each piece would be perfect. One of my jobs was cleaning it after use once you learn the tricks it’s easy to clean and we would sanitize it before starting with a butcher cleaner he bought and we would clean it between doing pork and beef cuts .
Very nice!
I'd say $150 for both . Buying used or worn out is kind of like love and hate that thin line😮
Nice find Guys $250.00 to $300.00. They are solid old pieces. Rebuilt they should last another 40 years. Are You and Rebecca going to be able to put the animal's down? Good Luck Guys Like your shows
As long as the equipment is restored and sanitized to state requirements, nice find. Yeah, it's for personal use, but you don't want to get sick. I remember going to orchards as a kid to pick apples. Yellow Jackets galore!
Darn! Your pigs are rootless!
The apple orchards in my area of New York State are closed. No picking this year. A late frost in the Spring damaged the blossoms.
Fall is here at last. Enjoy harvesting and filling the freezers with veggies, fruits, and meats and wild game too. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the great videos. Everything is looking great around there. Fred.
Near 60 years ago I got up close and personal with the band saw and cuber while working parttime in a butcher shop. We used Diversol to clean and sanitize.
Dirt covered apple peals, my favorite
You have just bought some second hand equipment. Yes plug it in to see if it works BUT NEVER leave it plugged in when playing with the internals. That’s how accidents happen and a meat grinder wouldn’t leave you with much of a hand.
I had no idea you could freeze tomatoes. 😃 Hope you get all the rain you need.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Freezing the tomatoes you are going to cook, saves time because you can process them later when you have finished up other things that need o be done immediately, so to speak.
When they thaw, the skins will fall right off
ya your going really need to clean them well and fix them up but I am sure why you need that stuff because most of the time when send to the butch so you going to have your own place to butch meat if so you also need a cold room and a lot another thing like sinks and butch tables and it got to be clean very clean
You have great videos! You showed your pellet grill and used what looked like a wire brush to clean the grates but PLEASE get rid of using of the wire brush if you or one of your family swallows one of those wires and off you go to the hospital it will ruin your whole day to say the least! Better tools out there to clean your grill with!
I worked in school food service for 21 years and we weren't able to use SOS or plain steel wool to clean our pans for that very reason.
Looks cloudy enough for rain. Hope you get a good heavy shower soon.
The pigs have created quite the swimming pool so they must be praying for rain too!
Hey crazy D thanks for the update. This video just came in my normal feed. No notifications ever come. For yours Farmall Fanatic’s Just a Few Acres Farm or Country View Acres or Out of the Woods my main RUclipsrs I watch.
Stay way from those yellow jackets. I’m on steroids now from a sting…pain and itch at sting site til I got treated
$200.00 at the most! It will take a lot of cleaning to make it able to process meat without contaminating your product!
Finally! Fall is here! Just put the last of my tomatoes in the freezer today. l will get to them in a few weeks. We didn't have a very good year in the garden this year. Tomatoes, peppers, onions, carrots none of them did very well. BUMPER crop of potatoes though! Will be canning a bunch of them in the next coupe weeks. Looking forward to the cooler weather now! Thanks for sharing guys!
Yep, it's crazy how dry it is, I sure hope we get some rain here soon. Great work guys that was a lot of tomato you guys got there. Thanks for sharing
Evan, It might be a good idea for ya'll to look into a freeze drier for your produce. Kevin at Hidden Heights Farm made fresh salsa from they're garden and then freeze dried it. He said it keeps real well and still tastes great. Would save on freezer space and electricity. Check it out. God Bless!
Usually the gas company will furnish the tank when you buy from them.
I wouldn't give him more than $50 for the pair they've got to be totally disassembled and cleaned and you have to make sure you sterilize them somehow.
You did him a great favor just hauling those machines away, cause it was obvious he wasn't going to use them..
I always look forward to your videos. The sad thing is that if you had the sheep they would definitely gobble up most of the foliage that the pigs won’t!
thx again
$150 for the both isn't a bad deal given the work u need to do to them
Having everything put in place in the shed, power, tools, water, cleaning area and freezers. The tools for processing and packaging everything ready for a butcher's kitchen. Looks like the homestead's entering into an interesting season.
You are a nice young man. Don't let anyone dim your sparkle
Hi, Evan and Rebekah! Evan, I love your smile as you show us your neat finds! You and and Rebekah will enjoy having those pieces of equipment. I will enjoy watching you bring them back to working condition.
Wow
I'm in my 70s and have never had or seen a jar in a water bath.
I suspect that the jar had a crack before filling
I am impressed with the job you guys are doing on the farm. I am reminded of days gone by and the many family farms that supplied their needs and other families needs as well. It was share and share alike and when help was needed, you didn't have to look far for an extra hand. Supplying the local produce stores in our area of Pa. kept the "towns people" always supplied with fresh produce. Many people who lived in town had their own gardens as well and plenty of food was always canned and awaiting consumption or trade.
The weather people say it will be a cold winter
My guess Evan is around 200 for both considering the condition and all the work that’s going to have to be put into them.
Those hornets are the reason I hated cutting around fruit trees when I was little. And great find and opportunity with the food equipment. I look forward to seeing your progress with them.
Need a freeze dryer!!! Real important!!
Great job at the harvesting and preserving. There is total satisfaction in getting your harvesting going and complete for the winter months. Whether it's vegetables, fruits or meats, there is that sense of feeling secure in knowing that your set for the food supplies for the winter. Congrats on all of your success and I hope you have a wonderful week.
you may wanna try making a pole with a wire basket on the end . also bending the wire to make a claw like grabber so when you reach up with the basket aim the claw to grab the apple you choose .
Since you have two source of water that are not a bore hole - I think you should try irrigating pasture - just to see if it's worthwhile. It's a lot cheaper to irrigate than it is to import forage, especially when you're growing your own electricity - what the heck, what do you have to lose? Get a pressure switch in line and a $40 Orbit digital timer and borrow a couple impact sprinklers from your garden. This would be a good test for the old well house. 😊 It would also make great content. If it works out, go shopping for a rain cannon and cover some serious area with one sprinkler head.
I recognize the meat tenderizer. Mom woukd always have them tenderize cheap steaks. They'd put it in one way and turn the other end in. Was awesomw! She made a special itialuan dish thay she baked. Yum!
When the hornets etc are all over your fruit trees, you should get a small bee smoke pot, to chase them all away, of some other means of smoking them away.
Yup will have to get Food grade grease and oil for lubrication
Evan, I bought a bandsaw very similar to yours. Only difference was my sliding tray was bigger and it has an attached stainless steel table on the side. I gave the gentleman $150
Love the video Evan And Rebeka sory if your name is mispel .
Good work Rebekah and Evan too on all that canning. Waist not want not ,eh ? Soits so good to watch you guys work together in all things...a happy life shared...God bless ya ! Those turkeys are super ! Can you believe what you got going there ! Annnnd they look so healthy and happy ! Good job ! Love your beautiful eyed cows too ! You got "it" guys ! Explore...experience...express...all of which you do so well ! See ya ! 😉
350.00 for the band saw and tenderiser.
Great video. 😊😊😊
FYI I found a working one for $1600.. yours is still worth $300-$500. Good luck..
Max I’d pay for the tenderizer is $50 and $125 for the bandsaw especially if no blades were included
Hello Evan
Good job. 🤔
I cringed when you had your hands on the tenderizer innards while it was still plugged in. C,mon Evan, you know better than that!
I would offer $100 for the butcher boy, $25 for the tenderizer and you could throw in some fresh preserves that you and Rebecca just created. Keep up the great work and keep thinking safety in all that you do.
$150 -$200 for both. I would stay around $150 if possible.
You have done nothing but make me hungry! Thank you for sharing.
Pie filling looks amazing!thanks for sharing!
You guys are very entertaining
Lots of good work
We got our butcher room done to Evan. I’d say offer him what it’s worth to you. If it’s worth 50 cents or 50 million dollars pay what it’s worth to you
$150 Happy Fall to yall!
Thx
Growing up processing our own meats and doing the different cuts and grinding them. These pieces of equipment are very much needed. I would say 200.00 for both pieces would be really fair price.
Giving food it to other families help in big long time
The cow likes tomatoes and apples TOO!
I say a hundred bucks and when you butcher your cows and pigs take him some cuts. And some vegetables.
Kept wondering what happened to the garden was waiting for this video
Great to see all that fruit and veg. Nice time of year. All the best 🇬🇧.
Having seen your dogs!
E & R Butchering at your service. Those wasps can get drunk on the apples.
Do you eat fried green tomatoes?
you are doing great I can't wait to see setting up your cow catch pen and set and all that
Onward!
Pick the apples early in the morning or late at night when the hornets are still in their nest.
