@@jameslewisfishing it would have been fantastic if the recording technology thats available now was available when I was fishing the North West canal circuit
@@stesmith7373 incredible days fishing that, we did have some of that round our way couple years back at invinghoe on the Grand Union, but I think it’s been cormoranted 😢
Wonderful video, really enjoyed it, takes me back. Not fished a match for 20 years due to circumstances but had match fished for 30 years before that. The majority of the matches were fished on the Forth & Clyde Canal which is a similar width, with very little boat traffic then, so crystal clear water which often made it hard going. Loved using bloodworms and punched bread which was very under rated but I had reasonable results with it. No bream, so mainly roach and perch with an outside chance of a tench but not worth the gamble in a team event! Much preferred team matches, if you had 3lbs you wouldn't be far away from a section win. Yes it could be hard going but I'd sooner work hard for 3lbs on a canal for my team, than catch 60lbs from a commercial fishery, so much more satisfying. 👍👍
Brilliant to see some proper fishing on a cut. 😊
Greatly appreciated, should be some more to come!

@@stesmith7373 Lots of roach then?
@@jameslewisfishing Yeah. Best roach winning match weight I had was 16lb caught on hemp. Bridgewater canal. Runcorn . 😁

Hi BBT, it was Steve Pawson who beat me off next peg 😂
Some times you just gotta laugh else youll cry
You're telling me aha! We all know it's part and parcel of fishing the canals but it was a bit of a perfect storm!
@@jameslewisfishing can be extremely anoying but the canals alway draw me back for more, love hate relationship
Great catch, I was wondering why do you have 2 nets ?
One was for predators in case you catch one, to keep it out the swim.
I have the Whisker ..what Top kits do you use?.
Hi Matt, right mixture on there some originals, some tourneys they're all much of a muchness
Great vid 👍I have recently qualified for the CRT pairs final do you know if this is the same venue?
Hi Gareth, cheers mate. I would imagine so, Chris Howard will be the man in the know :)
That's why I don't fish canals nowadays - can't stand all the disturbance from boats and dog walkers.
Still a few quieter stretches out there, but much harder to find them unfortunately
