Another dead useful video Dave, sorry you had a hard day but these videos you do are teaching me and my lad loads. He's on a junior match at Soudley this weekend. You've given people a really good insight into canal fishing mate.
That section looked a little bit like the 'oak tree' stretch as it's known, although I can't be certain from memory and a lot of stretches of that canal do all look alike. Is that bridge to your left next to a farmhouse? If it's the same place it used to be great fishing on the oak tree pegs......but that was over 25 years ago and caster/double bloodworm/redworm over a good bed of joker in the autumn/winter used to produce good nets of bream. But times change, baits get banned, and places that used to fish well might not be that good anymore, because at the end of the day none of those fish from the 90s would still be alive, I doubt that very much 👍
That was at the top end of Market Drayton mate. The Oak tree length isn't brilliant nowadays but I'd still of rather of been there on the day as this stretch was rubbish the further you got out of the trees!
@@davebrownfishing Oh man it can be soul destroying when you look to your side and all the pegs have nice trees over and you're lucky if you've got a blade of grass 😆 Sometimes those feature pegs don't produce so you've got to keep your mind positive. I agree about Market Drayton, I've only been up there a couple of times and it was shit, even the Crossover Bridge section at Audlem or summat like that - it was a really well noted stretch but when I saw it it was hopeless. I love the Shroppy but it can be fickle at times, as can most of the canals
C'est la vie, Dave, that's natural fisheries. I can understand the comments about real fishing, but I agree with you, but if your bag is fishing for tame fish then it's ok. I've tried them, and they are not my scene. Glad to know you're son calls you, mines not called me for years

Good film tough Day.
Good job dave 👍🎣
Good effort on a tough peg Dave, why do you pull the elastic every put in?
I have it so it just creeps back into the top kit. So a dip and pull ensures it's not hanging out the end.
In a strange way it is reassuring that even someone as class as You struggles when there's no fish about , as it means it isn't just Me.
You cannot catch what isn't there bud, doesn't matter how good you think you are!
