Great question Pete. It's actually a discontinued model, an old Daiwa Yank and Bank 12ft. Having used a few on there you need something with some meat in the blank to get the control. What i would say is it wasn't that expensive and i think a slightly lower grade carbon means it's a bit more forgiving if you're looking for something similar.

A fair comment to a novice, not lost a rod in 30 years and was never going to pull rod out my hand. Fish would have been in more danger making the snags that are out of shot on a looser drag!

Hi Onyx, always best to have a google of the location you want to fish, see if you can figure out who owns the stretch. Some places you can buy a day ticket, some are memberships only and a rare few stretches are free.

For the simple reason to fish further out, but very accurately a lot of the time where the fish want to inhabit. But yes they can be pricey!
