yo this is a solid video, hope it gets the recognition it deserves. lol i remember when cauchy set his stadium time - he'd been near the top of the leaderboard for ages but finally broke through with that wr. that track was stupidly active for a while until totom killed the competition. lots of innovation happening around then - jarv getting wr with mach bike, ppl trying out the turnskip, etc.
i was under the belief that dk summit and dry dry desert were the highest technical tracks in the game, but this video has thoroughly convinced me just how much of a monster waluigi stadium is this game is beautiful

I have one potential honorable mention that deserves a lot of recognition IMO: rSL flap 39.962 by ZanZ was still on worldwide tops by at least 2021.... and was set on January 23, *2009* . would last as the world record for *1453* days, only finally being beaten by Totom on January 14, 2013. unfortunately, there was never any video of the time, and a lot of people have talked about whether or not the run even happened, I remember reading a comment of someone not believing it due to ZanZ being a crazy person or something lol. despite this, it's still ranked today, still placing 9th American, nearly 16 years later. honestly, there's a lot of old flap wrs that are super underrated and mysterious to me, so many in fact that I think you could easily make at least a top 10 video like this one solely dedicated to flap wrs ahead of their time.

I kinda expected to see Frostbeule’s first ever 1.09 on here after you mentioned the importance of subs. Set a week after the games release and standing for nearly three months was a crazy achievement back then. Hard to find a spot for it though since this is an excellent list!
