Worth noting: Overrepresented does not mean doesn’t deserve to be the most represented. And for the record, yes I know that Moonview Highway has the "cnsw_63" file name. No, that does not mean Daisy Circuit was the track that replaced Mushroom Bridge. You all are way too purist when it comes to information from datamining. Maple Treeway has the cnsw_62 file name. Does that mean it's in Wave 6? No! And in Waves 4-6, seemingly none of these courses maintained their original slots/purposes. The names are just placeholders. They were likely an original plan, that got mixed up as early as Wave 3. It's not really significant in the present day because half the tracks don't even match their indicated wave anymore. After Wave 5 came out I was the first to tell everyone that Mushroom Bridge would not be in Wave 6, and many people doubted me when I said the final track would be a mystery retro course that we don't know about. The very reason I said the mystery course would happen is because there was no longer a functional purpose to include Mushroom Bridge a wave after they put Moonview Highway in. And now that the mystery course has been revealed, proving this intuition correct, everyone says its the MB replacement now. Daisy Circuit could've co-existed with either traffic course. It was always going to be Daisy Circuit and one or the other between the other two. What most likely happened is they built Moonview Highway first and just gave it the vacant file name. It would explain why Moonview made Wave 5 instead of Daisy Circuit, despite file names indicating otherwise. Mushroom Bridge was no longer required once Moonview was added though. So they got rid of it because of MH. Daisy Circuit was just the track that got to take the vacated file name. Even if Mushroom Bridge and Moonview Highway files probably existed at the same time, that version of the Booster Pass was never going to get published.
Yeah! And the full Star Cup too. Grumble Volcano in the mainline game, Koopa Cape and Maple Treeway in Waves 3 and 5, and once Wave 6 is out, we’ll get Daisy Circuit to complete the star cup!
My only real gripe with he BCP compared to wii is the lack of Mii NPCs. They would add so much personal flavor to the tracks compared to the same old copy-paste toads and yoshis
yeah, im an mkwii fan and i never liked moonview highway so i was not happy but when i played it and there was not mii's at the toll stations i was mad
@@newsuperbowserworld piantas are in coconut mall, but they dont use shy guys or bowser's enemies like paratroopas, and they dont use pitcrew toads. the only ones they use are toads, yoshis, and paratroopas which is frankly really stupid.
It's a Wii track so my lawyer just informed me I'm legally not allowed to put it below top 16 on my Mario kart track ranking Same with all the other 15 Wii tracks 💀💀💀
since their debuts; there has never been a mario kart game that does not feature Maple Treeway, Mushroom Gorge, Koopa Cape AND Coconut Mall all together.
This DLC was kinda just limited in general because it had to stick so closely to Mario Kart Tour and what was already in Tour (including its controversial track layout changes) If anything, the Booster Course Pass is basically meant to be the “Mario Kart Tour tracks and also a select handful of the Tour remakes of older tracks” pass (Tour’s internal name is even “Booster”)
Yeah, they only did it because Tour wasn't doing well money wise I think. Just like Deluxe was released on the Switch, because the Wii U was failing horrifically.
tbh I think daisy circuit really didnt deserve it over many ds, 3ds and double dash tracks. Daisy circuit is fine per se but its not outstanding and it gets overshadowed by many missing 3ds, ds and double dash tracks.
I think the best reps for those games would be : (3Ds) Bowsers castle or wario shipyard, N64 wario staduim and gcn rainbow road and ds Luigis mansion (Airship fortress aint happening)
I agree with swapping out a Wii course but I don’t think it should be daisy circuit. The remix they gave it and the sunset aesthetic both feel so retrospective, celebratory and nostalgic that I think it makes daisy circuit great as a track in the final wave. It’s still not a very interesting track but it just has that “end of the journey” feel. Personally I would much rather replace moonview highway, that inclusion seems much more random to me. And I can imagine its spot in wave 5 being a perfect place to include say, airship fortress or shy guy bazaar.
Really bummed that games like DS and 7 didn't get the love they deserved for having the best nitros in the series in my opinion, hell, even though Double Dash's tracks so far have been bangers, the game has been extremely underrepresented since the beginning. I just wish they would've gave each game equal treatment aside from maybe SMK or 64 (not enough good tracks for them to bring back imo) and actually cared about adding in more non-Wii fan favorites rather than doing the whole DS Mario Circuit situation
All that DS was missing in my opinion was Airship Fortress. That over DS Mario Circuit would have been ideal. Delfino Square and Luigi's Mansion are great tracks but with how tight everything was personally all they needed was Airship Fortress
Should've ported the wuhu tracks to your and brought back them back honestly I would absolutely take losing moonview for Wuhu loop And now we likely won't ever see them remade as 8 seemed like the big game for crossovers and a Nintendo kart seems extremely unlikely MKX will probably return to the original Mario kart formula (with more cups probably) and have no crossovers which means the wuhu tracks won't return
Even as a major Wii fan, I think there’s too many Wii tracks in the game, like I get the legacy behind the game but like other games deserve a chance to get more recognition in 8DX but you know there’s nothing we can do about that
Problem is, not many Wii tracks made it into Mario Kart 8 originally. And the only ones that did, were either tracks many people didn't ask for (Moo Moo Meadows, although that one is okay), or tracks that some people despised in the original game (Grumble Volcano, even though the remake is fantastic in my opinion). Wario's Gold Mine only made it in as DLC in the Wii U game, even though some people despised that track too in the original. Point is, they wanted to make it up to Mario Kart Wii fans for not porting that many Wii tracks into the base game to begin with. And yes, Deluxe is only a port of Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, because that console failed devastatingly!
@@FrazerEddy i feel like it's more they gave in to Wii fans Like Wii is a great game and all but it absolutely does not warrant getting 7 tracks in the BCP while DS only got 2 Most of the Wii fandom is honestly kind of toxic Like I get saying you like the game and having nostalgia bias but when it gets to the point where people are saying X number of tracks from Wii better get in the next game (when usually it's all of them) it just goes a bit too far I have seen Wii fans say they will kill Nintendo employees if they don't bring back toads factory in the next game And like yeah it's a good track but wtf dude If you like the Wii tracks so bad go play fuckin Wii, don't ruin later Mario kart games by peer pressuring Nintendo into remaking Wii tracks and not giving other games any spotlight
As much as I love the Wii Tracks. I feel like someone at Nintendo have Mario Kart Wii bias. I wish Nintendo could just give us more DS, N64, and 3DS Tracks
@joseluistrejo1683 honestly I would've taken any of the 3 unused 3ds Mushroom cup tracks over Toad Circuit Daisy Hills, Cheep Cheep Lagoon, and Shy Guy Bazaar were all so much better
Seeing ds having the most retro tracks is the LAST thing i wanna see. i’d rather have 5+ Super mario kart tracks, N64 wario stadium, 3DS cheep cheep lagoon and more of the worst new tracks from every game excluding 8 and DS than having more ds tracks.
Yeah,Us Wii fans is having the best dessert in the Bcp,We got Coconut Mall,Moonview Highway, Mushroom gorge,Koopa Cape,Dk Summit,Daisy Circuit,Maple Treeway,Mario Circuit 3,Peach Garden,Waluigi Stadium and funky returns too?,Thats so delicious….
My main gripes with Mario Kart Wii have always been strictly on a gameplay level, as I never cared much for the controls or item balance. Wii’s track selection and roster are some of the best in any Mario kart game, so bringing them over to one of my favorite games in the series is amazing in my book. Though the MKDS fan in me is a little annoyed that some fan favorite tracks from that game got snubbed
At least Waluigi Pinball made it in. And Tick-Tock Clock was already in the base game on the Wii U. But yeah, tracks like Luigi's Mansion, Delfino Square and Airship Fortress would've been nice.
@@Wedge_Khan that's literally nothing We could've had airship fortress or DK Pass but instead we got a basic ass Mario circuit Getting a Mario circuit from your game in instead of an actual good track is honestly insulting
I’m a MKWii native (it was my first Mario Kart) and you know I find it interesting that there were so many Wii nitros in the BCP. I’m happy they were represented, especially fan favorites like Mushroom Gorge, Coconut Mall, Koopa Cape, and my most favorite one being DK Summit. Wii’s nitros were incredible and had unique gimmicks that I really liked. As much as I kinda wished the other games were also represented in the BCP, I’m just really happy they’re bringing the most popular Wii tracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
It's so good lol. Not sure it translates amazingly to the BCP (maybe the original 8 where there was a heavier emphasis on being creative for anti grav), but it's a cool design. Played amazing in double dash.
Sometimes I randomly think it almost feels like the team used the BCP as a chance to realize the "vision" they had for some of the Wii courses (graphically and gameplayically) but couldn't fully back then due to the limitations of the Wii (with the Wii characters thrown in due to their popularity)
As much as I love mkwii’s courses, they gave it way too much in the BCP, and completely neglected double dash, 7, and N64. N64 and 7 at least got a lot of love in the base game, but double dash in general has been neglected in 8dx. Hopefully Mario Kart 9 gives double dash the love it deserves and lets Wii take a bit of a break. Also cool to see someone else planning a “how I’d change the BCP” thing
@@bradparris7651 I wouldn’t necessarily say that. In the Wii U dlc we got 2 banger courses from double dash, but base Wii U only gave us the 2 worst gcn courses.
I still can’t get over how there is going to be 8 to even possibly 9 Wii tracks in the bcp and still only 3 or 2 GCN tracks. I think it should be fair that the next Mario kart if there ever is one should only get wii toad factory!Good video took the words out of my mouth.
@@nikkhyrilnazrin4567 I hope not, much rather see the spiny cup get a brand new Rainbow Road and either give DD more love, add Airship Fortress, or give us Toad Factory in place of Wii Rainbow Road
@@shadowcastytThere are no more DS courses, we’re only getting one GCN course in Wave 6, most likely a jungle one, GCN Rainbow Road isn’t in Tour and Toad’s Factory isn’t in Tour. We’re getting Wii Rainbow Road whether you like it or not.
@@generalcrab0009The prefix datamine is no longer 100% accurate. I do believe the rest of the wave won't be changed, but I didn't think a course would be replaced in wave 6 either originally. Still, Wii Rainbow Road is basically guaranteed.
I love Wii's tracks and was more than satisfied with the selection we got up until now but i cant say i wasnt a little disappointed with Daisy Circuit taking the mystery slot in wave 6. After Wave 5, i was going to be satisfied with just Wii Rainbow Road in Wave 6 with the other 3 retros presumably being more varied picks, and i just wish that they had given some love to another game with lower representation for the mystery slot. Airship Fortress is the obvious pick in my mind, but even something like Wario Shipyard or another GBA track would have been nice to see. Not to mention we're most likely getting DK Mountain instead of DDJ which would mean out of all 4 retros we get in wave 6, 3 of them will also have existed in Wii which definitely feels like a little much. Heck, I'd even argue Mushroom Bridge was still a great pick to some extent considering it woukd also add a little more DS representation. Maybe not the best Wave 6 pick but still. Either way I'm still excited for Wave 6 but i just wish there was a little more variety in it
Pretty much exactly what I said in my comment too. Daisy circuit is such an average track when there were so many better options from all the other Mariokart games. Especially Dino Dino jungle and airship fortress
@@iidoughnutholes3087 Heck, if they wanted it to be a Wii track, there's better options from Wii alone, like...oh I don't know...Toad's Factory maybe, Nintendo?? As a big Wii fan myself, the only real thing that even makes Daisy Circuit that interesting is its visual setting, particularly the sunset, that's it, the course itself is very basic and meh in my opinion, other than maybe the elevated sidewalk or something which was kinda unique at least among Wii's tracks at the time.
@@legoboy7107 exactly. There’s pretty much nothing unique about it, it’s just an average track, I would’ve much preferred toad’s factory. Very disappointing, and daisy circuits gimmick isn’t really impressive anymore since so many other tracks in the bcp or just in the main game also happen at sunset. The raised sidewalk is cool though lol
A lot of the retro tracks in the BCP have been appeared before as retro tracks in other games. They truly wanted to sell the DLC, that's why they have chosen the most popular courses from the most popular games. For example: Daisy Cruiser is from MKDD, but it is in Tour and the BCP because it also appeared in MK7, a most recent and popular game than Double Dash. Mushroom City and Wario Colosseum, also from Double Dash, have never been in other games, therefore, it was unlikely (not impossible though) to see them included. Mario Kart Wii is the most popular MK game by far, so makes sense thy this game has the best representation in the BCP.
Honestly think of it this way, getting all these Wii tracks out of the way now means that when MK9 eventually releases there will be a more varied retro course selection. I imagine tracks like Toad's Factory, Airship Fortress and Wario Colosseum will be a given, and some other great tracks will return as well.
@@harubutjojo at most I can only see Wii getting toad factory and dry dry ruins It is possible we get Wii Bowser castle but I think GBA Bowser castle 4 is more likely
Rainbow Road is unsurprisingly back too, and the last GameCube retro was the one that’s iconic because of Wii. And half of the trailer was Wii Rainbow Road. And I’ve seen people still unhappy because Toad’s Factory isn’t back, how much do you want????
although i am a wii fan, as it was my first ever video game, i do think wii got waaay too much attention. i am glad to see these tracks but there are other tracks from other games that could’ve been added. it breaks my heart a little bit knowing that airship fortress’ chances are slim to nothing now that daisy circuit is here, and i was getting excited to see mushroom bridge. and mk7 has some really solid tracks that weren’t added. all i can hope for is that these tracks will get the love and attention base 8 and 8 dlc got for the next mk game
Bro this is EXACTLY what I’ve been saying! I’m so glad someone else agrees with me that there’s way too much Wii representation within the BCP. Poor GCN and DS were done dirty. I don’t have a problem with any of the Wii tracks necessarily. It’s just… it’s too much. Like… how is the next game even going to compete with this one? Tbh the Wii tracks they should’ve saved for the next game is Daisy Circuit and Moonview Highway. The tracks that should’ve replaced those two imo are DS Airship Fortress and GCN Mushroom Bridge. I’m not trying to come off as a Wii hater because that’s obviously not true if you’ve seen my passion towards MKW, but it’s just a bit too much Wii I feel like.
I think DS got pretty fair representation. They just made a wrong selection imo. 3DS got done the most dirty I think given what was selected, what was on the table, and the quantity that they got.
As a huge ds fan that grew up on ds classics. I'm sad we couldn't get airship fortress or ds rainbow road. Ds rainbow road was literally made for mario kart 8! It already has anti gravity loops and corkscrews! In my opinion it was the most fun and challenging rainbow road with its sharp turns and beautiful look. (Once you got used to it it was okay but at first those sharp turns would make you rage lol) I'd wish nintendo would give us more of a look. But I also feel bad for GCN. They got screwed as well
To be fair, it’s underrepresented in the base game. Honestly, I was hoping there’d be more of a rebalancing in the BCP, and was pleasantly surprised. 🙂
They did make up for lost time, but the stats at the end of the video also did take into account the base game totals. I would say Wii not only caught up, it got out to a massive lead.
Is it though? It was in base 8 on WiiU all the way back in 2014 but the DLC gave us Wario’s Goldmine bringing the number of courses up to 3 which is comparable to most other games represented in the base game, only being 1 behind 64, DD and 7, being the same as SS and DS and having more than Super. Seems fair enough to me
There are only FIVE nitro Wii tracks missing, after Wave 6. Compared to the other games, all of the others have slightly less than half of their tracks represented. Wii, by comparison, has more than 2/3 of its tracks present. It's ridiculous.
I'd argue that they are bringing back all the Wii tracks for the same reason they brought back 3DS and (presumably) Wii Rainbow Road. If they would have kept following the trends that started over 10 years ago with Mario Kart 7, we would had to have waited an obscenely long amount of time to see some of these courses in a new game (especially the Rainbow Roads). From a business perspective, it just doesn't make sense to wait around while Wii fans grow older and move on when they can bring back almost all the content in the current game to help keep them engaged with the franchise. My guess is that the next game will focus more heavily on Double Dash, SNES, DS, and GBA for its base retro selection (48 courses to start, with 48 more being added over time like the BCP)
It makes sense for the Rainbow Roads. I even talked about this in my video about why they're not choosing certain courses for the Booster Pass (the one with wario and toad on the thumbnail). But for the other courses, it doesn't really make all that much sense to stack them all up, because they would be eligible for the next MK if they wanted them.
As someone who has never play Mario Kart Wii, I both love and hate how many Wii tracks there are. I love it because it gives me a chance to play the courses from that game for the first time. But at the same time I wanna see tracks from other games, especially GCN and 3DS, I could name 5 tracks from both of those games I would've loved to see (Also because I can already play like 5 of the Wii tracks in the BCP on MK7, and it's alot of the best tracks there. so for gcn my picks are - Mushroom City - Wario Colosseum - Dino Dino Jungle - Peach Beach - Rainbow Road and mk7 its - Wuhu Loop - Daisy Hills - Shy Guy Bazaar - Wario's Shipyard - Bowser's Castle
As a MKWii fan i have to say, 11/16 nitros (full Star Cup btw) + 3 of it's best remade retro courses + it's entire character roster being all in 8DX is just ridiculous. Nintendo may as well have remade MKWii at that point like 💀 there's so many amazing N64, GCN, DS and 3DS retros that never got a chance, at least GBA got a much more decent chunk of good tracks in comparison but damn, i'm honestly surprised Rosalina's Ice World was the surprise track instead of Dry Dry Ruins considering their blatant bias.
Well, they couldn't put 3 Wii tracks in a wave without overlap within a cup and they will never do that for retro cups. But yeah, might as well just do a remake haha
when u showed the track distributions for the retros for mk8dx and all the percentages for tracks that made it in i could barely keep my laughter in for no reason
Us Wii fans... we are litterally the definition of spoiled, obnoxious kids with parents that give us whatever we want, when ever w- Oh look Daisy Circuit!
You forgot two things with the datamines: Dataminers found out that Waluigi Stadium was pushed back ahead of time by Maple Treeway before the reveal trailer came out. This happened after the Wave 3 teaser released. Also Moonview Highway is confirmed to be cnsw_63 (the mystery Tour nitro) and Daisy Circuit will most likely either be cnsw_56 or _66 depending which one the last GCN track picks up. But still essentially Moonview Highway filled up Mushroom Bridge’s niche while also replacing the scrapped/placeholder spot and Daisy Circuit subsequently taking up Bridge’s original placement. Still would’ve preferred both Moonview Highway and Mushroom Bridge (or Dry Dry Ruins if we were always getting a Wii replacement) personally over Daisy Circuit due to the interesting gameplay of Bridge and the lack of traffic courses still even with the BCP. Yes I think we needed 5 traffic courses out of 96 total tracks and just have 8 GCN tracks in general. And funny that with Waves 2, 4, and 6, we still got SNES Mario Circuit 3, Waluigi Stadium, and most likely DK Mountain and Wii Rainbow Road which where all in Mario Kart Wii as well lol
The same thing happened with Daisy Cruiser, that was a Wave 4 track pushed back for Wave 5, besides Moonview Highway, no other prefix was changed, not once. (Not referring to placement, just the actual prefix content). So basically the actual prefixes otherwise has been completely right since we haven’t gotten a DS track since Wave 4, a 3DS track since Wave 3 and an N64 track since Wave 2
@@HDRookie I don’t care if you don’t care, your the one explicitly peddling the false hope that Mushroom Bridge (or a GCN track in general) was forced out by a track that didn’t force anything out, people have every right to call out misinfo whether you like it or not
1:45 'one of these games seems suspiciously large...' Maaaan, I didn't even think about that. I'll never look at that trailer the same again lol. Awesome video, by the way. Liked.
slight mistake. Moonview filled the blank prefix slot from Wave 6 (according to it's codename) and Daisy Circuit is likely to be replacing the GCN slot from Wave 5 (we'll see it's codename once the track is released)
Nah, I'm aware of what the public thinks. After wave 5 when we learned it had the 6-3 slot I still called it the Mushroom Bridge replacement, because that's what it was added to the pass to be. That's why it was in Wave 5. It and Mushroom Bridge were never going to coexist. In-game ID =/= functional purpose in the pass. We aren't supposed to see the IDs. They'd only matter to begin with if they actually matched the courses final locations anyway.
my favorite MK game is 7. so much so that I can hold my own competitively and seeing how they treated the courses in the BCP is sad, not only did we get very little, but each track is inferior in some way to its original version. Toad Circuit is ugly. Rock Rock Mountain got the ugly rock treatment, making it so much worse to look at. and Rainbow Road's elevation got cut in half, making it no where near as fun to play.
yeah, it's kinda sad, but at least we still have Melody Motorway (Music Park), Piranha Plant Pipeway (Piranha Plant Slide), DK Jungle and Koopa City (Neo Bowser City, A.K.A God's greatest creation) in the base game
I mean mario kart Wii is the best selling mario kart game after 8 deluxe so I kinda see why it get more tracks than other games that’s what I think anyway
The issue for me isn't the insane amount of Wii tracks, all of them were ones ive asked for Its Mario Kart Wii's fanbase that is my issue Even getting 8 tracks, they still are like "Why didn't Toads Factory return, 0/10" or "we want even more" its just they never have enough and keep asking for more. Which just shows how spoiled and annoying Wii fans are
Toad’s Factory is peak though and it’s a straight up crime that they prioritized BUTCHERING 3DS Rainbow Road over bringing back this Like, I could get behind that if 3DS RR had a worthy remake
Surprised you didn't mention the music prefetch leak from Wave 2, since it leaked like 15 courses and matched perfectly with the prefix leak from Wave 1; it was here where we supposedly got to know the entirety of Wave 3 AND learned that Maple Treeway was gonna be in the BCP. Also, Moonview Highway technically didn't replace Mushroom Bridge. I mean, effectively it did, but Moonview Highway's internal file was called Cnsw_63, which matched with one of the prefixless courses, not a GCN one. This means that Daisy Circuit is most likely to have replaced Mushroom Bridge instead.
Effectively is the keyword I care about here. The file name stuff doesn't really matter imo. Logic has won out over purist datamine believing at every step recently
@@HDRookie But wouldn't it make more sense if Moonview Highway was Cnsw_56 then? That was already planned for Wave 5 anyway, like how Cnsw_63 was orignally meant to be a Wave 6 course, just like how Daisy Circuit is a Wave 6 course now. This is why I think these technicalities should've been mentioned, because if Moonview Highway was indeed intended to replace Mushroom Bridge, then this is a REALLY roundabout, and rather _illogical,_ way to do it; it could've been so much simpler... ...which is why _I_ personally think the reason why all the courses are being switched around like this in the first place is partially to mess with dataminers and predictions (since the prefix leak and the music leak really made the BCP too predictable; we know from the Wave 3 full reveal trailer that the switching was a last minute decision too, considering Maple Treeway was placed in Waluigi Stadium's original position).
If I were fixing the BCP I would replace these Wii tracks -Mushroom Gorge -Moonview Highway -Koopa Cape The reason I chose MG and KC is because they were already in MKW and MK7, I’d put Shy Guy Bazar in wave 2 because it’s the most requested track since the Wii U DLC, Luigi’s Mansion and Dino Dino Jungle go into wave 5 because DS was done dirty last wave and GCN needs more love (I’m ok with DS Mario Circuit because the music is so good)
I personally wouldn’t cut Moonview Highway… but purely because the new remixes are that good (might be tied with Big Blue for my favourite music in the entire game), as a track it’s kinda whatever
Mario kart wii was my first Mario game ever and I'm glad we're getting more wii tracks than just Coconut Mall, Mushroom Gorge, Maple Treeway and Koopa Cape.
Im heavily in favor of mkwii but mk8dx is my second favorite and im glad mkwii got the most representation in this game and mk double dash deserves almost the same amount of representation.
Don't want this video to be about the players. Lots of good people who work hard for both of those game's communities. This is about Nintendo only lending their ear to one group above all else, imo.
MkWii was my first Mario kart game so I am glad that I’m able to replay a lot of courses… but yeah I agree some don’t need to be here lol. Not really too hyped about Daisy circuit and I thought that DK summit was a little underwhelming (still love the course tho lol)
I actually don’t mind this because so many people grew up with Mario Kart Wii as a child including myself so a lot of the courses create a warm nostalgic feeling so seeing these be remade in HD helps to bring back memories in a more fun fashion and also a lot of the modding community liked Mario Kart wii so it would attract that target audience too.
@@HDRookieThat’s a good point. I did eventually decide to play them all as I was younger but I actually did find that I enjoyed playing a lot more of Wii’s courses than the other games. I would say that double dash also has some memorable tracks so maybe they could of sacrificed one wii track for a double dash track to satisfy the bigger audience. The best way for Nintendo to solve this is to just make a second booster pass and then that way they can bring over a bigger track percentage from a lot more games and please everyone as most of the tracks from people’s favourite Mario kart games would be there.
If I would remove two Wii tracks, it's gonna be Daisy Circuit and Moonview Highway. For Daisy Circuit, I would put it in BASE 8 instead. If I can use Pipeline, I put it in Wave 5 and put Squeaky Clean Sprint in Wave 6. If Pipeline doesn't work well, I would put (GBA) Luigi Circuit in Wave 5 instead, and put Sunset Wilds in BASE 8 instead. And for Moonview Highway, we have lots of cities in the BCP. I would replace it with Mushroom Bridge. If Mushroom Bridge doesn't work well, then I'm removing Yoshi Circuit from the Wii U DLC for a DS track (Wario Stadium or Mario Circuit), and put Yoshi Circuit to be in the BCP instead. Bonus: I could remove Koopa Cave because 11 is a lot.
Don't think having as many courses return as N64, GCN, and 3DS combined is warranted at all still. Plenty of great tracks were left out from those games
You got moonview and daisy circuit mixed up, moonview highway is cnsw_63, one of the blank spots, and daisy circuit is most likely taking over the gcn track
@@HDRookieEhh I mean like, That basically answered our question to as why Maple got taken out. Because they didn’t want 2 Wii courses in their one cup.

@@returnofskurk1633 like it or not, the Booster Course Pass was limited to tracks that appear in Mario Kart Tour, and for whatever reason, that game’s selection of Double Dash tracks (that weren’t already in 8 Deluxe) were very limited Also, really? Only one Bowser’s Castle from a 3D game got into Tour, whereas Rainbow Road at least got two?
@@jomaq9233 Yes and it's bad, so what is your point here? In what world is that not bad? Some of the tracks that have gotten in have been remade several times over, it's boring.
I 100% agree tbh, Wii fan partially but you're right. Also I saw a video about a theory that there will be a secret cup that will have a few final courses and that could be for airship fortress, mushroom bridge, etc. It would make the total amount of courses 100 which I can't imagine nintendo wouldn't want to market and sell a version of the game for at a markup.
I don’t think that it shouldn’t be that surprising since the very beginning of the BCP when MKWii had a large box art compare to the rest. It sounds dumb, but MKWii is the only other MK game that sold sky-rocketed other than MK8D
As someone who loves Mario Kart Wii, I'm extremely frustrated by the amount of Wii courses in the BCP because I've already played all of those dozens of times and the main appeal of the BCP for me is that it enables me to play courses I've never played before.
I can't say I'm complaining, all the Wii tracks we've gotten are fire, my only real problem with the booster pass is a lot of stellar tracks throughout the series are seemingly getting snuffed by mid-filler trash, we've still got one wave left but there's still tracks like Airship Fortress, Toad Factory, Wario Coliseum, Dino Dino Jungle, Rosalinas ice world, and I'm sure you can think of others that will likely not make the cut… again one wave left so I guess we gotta wait and see what happens, also to hell with the tour tracks, with the exception of ninja hideaway, and I hardly consider that a true tour track, it's more like a nitro track that was put on tour first, they all suck compared to the potential fan favorites throughout the main series that they could've added
There are a few cities I like. Also big on Yoshi's Island, TBH. But overall they are worse on average I'd agree. But we weren't getting a pass without them.
I’ll be honest I don’t agree. Wii as a whole has more liked tracks, so it has more tracks. I didn’t play Wii, only 8, and Gorge and Moonview are two of my favorite tracks. Most N64 tracks are middle of the road to most people, with the good ones being in the game already. Most 7 tracks are just okay to most people, with the good ones being in the game already. Wii, even with 11 tracks, still has Dry Dry Ruins, Toad’s Factory, and Bowser Castle, all being fan favorites to some degree. I think the amount of each game is good for the dlc, except DS and 3DS. Airship Fortress should’ve replace Toad Circuit.
I'd say the the majority of my favorite N64 courses are not in MK8, but they aren't in Tour. 3DS though, there were options. I think Wario Shipyard and Shy Guy Bazaar for instance would've been very high quality remake options, but there were only 3 slots for 3DS courses here.
@@HDRookie For me, Shy Guy Bazaar and Rosalina’s Ice World are the only 3DS track left that would fit the dlc. Shipyard just seems like a lesser Cove to me. And the WuHu track probably aren’t coming back, along with the other 8 crossover tracks. Best case scenario, they keep the layout but just change the theming. For N64, Wario Stadium and Bowser Castle are the only ones I could think of. For Wario Stadium, we already have DS Wario Stadium, and Waluigi Stadium, both being better tracks in my opinion. For Bowser Castle, we’re getting BC3, which will probably be my favorite Bowser Castle. The older Bowser Castles don’t work for 8, especially in 200cc. Some tracks back then are tighter when speed was slower, and they are much longer than 8 tracks. For GCN, I know people want Mushroom City and Wario Coliseum, but it’s solely for their gimmicks. Mushroom City has alternate paths and cars, but thats it. Car wise Moonview is better, and alternate path wise Yoshi Valley is better. I like the gimmick, but City didn’t do it the best. I think a New Donk City track doing that would be neat. Coliseum has 2 laps, but Wii and GCN Rainbow Road could do that as well. Coliseum’s layout is just average too. Waluigi Stadium is just a better track for me. That’s just my opinion though.
Wii is my childhood game and the tracks they picked are great but yeah it is slightly overrepresented. Why there are not more ds tracks I will never understand. Double dash is probably going to end up alright unless they cut even more in the final wave. N64 is screwed though like come on. Like I am not actually mad because the wii tracks they picked are truly great but the obsession is a little weird and what actually annoys me are the annoying wii fans who think the world revolves around them.
There is very little self awareness from the people who think their favorite game has all the best tracks. Like that is not an overall consensus people lol
I wished they put Wii courses what weren't also in MK7 like Toads Factory and Dry Dry Ruins and retro courses I haven't already played to death in Wii. But ya I agree, the other titles got the short stick and Wii got too much. I do like your feather ruffling tweets, the folks saying 'Luma and Mii Suit B isn't in' = Trash Roster was a good read and this is coming from one of the biggest Rosalina Simps in the competitive community who does wish Luma was back with Rosalina.
The way Double Dash got shafted is just sad. The fact that one of the slots got stolen by Daisy Circuit makes me so mad. Also, the fact Moonview Highway filled the blank slot instead of Airship Fortress or literally anything else just pisses me off.
Moonview Highway got remixes that may just be the best music in the entire game, so imo it was worth it (Also, Double Dash could only realistically get 4 tracks max in the Booster Course Pass anyway)
I really hope that every track made in history is in the next Mario Kart game. That would be sick. Also, adding a double dash mode to that would be great.
As somebody who has never played MkWii, I'm honestly cool with getting all these tracks because they're all new to me, but at the same time I am pretty disappointed with the idea of a GCN track getting replaced. If it were up to me, I'd replace Toad Circuit and Sunset Wilds with Rosalina's Ice World and Airship Fortress. This wouldn't fix Wii's oversaturation of tracks but anything for AF lol
It's probably because WII is the best selling game (not counting Mario Kart 8) and less the competitive scene but dude Jesus Wii is so over-represented
They have to reuse anti grav because the half pipes wouldn't work without them. Different games have different engines. They did it for better tricks, mobility, imitating its physics, and similar gameplay. You can also spin boost instead of bumping into a player while you're airborne. Nothing's wrong with anti-grav on the half-pipes, it's just a cool feature.
@@McArg_I agree actually, Even the ones in Tour have their own style compared to the dash and glider ramps. If it was that hard for them to make a seperate texture / animation, why couldn’t they just make it purple or something so it was distinguishable??
As a huge ds fan that grew up on ds classics. I'm sad we couldn't get airship fortress or ds rainbow road. Ds rainbow road was literally made for mario kart 8! It already has anti gravity loops and corkscrews! In my opinion it was the most fun and challenging rainbow road with its sharp turns and beautiful look. (Once you got used to it it was okay but at first those sharp turns would make you rage lol) I'd wish nintendo would give us more of a look. But I also feel bad for GCN. They got screwed as well
I agree with you that MKW has too much in the BCP, MKDD has better tracks and should've taken up more of the BCP than MKW. I love MKW's physics but its tracks are honestly just so mid to me (which is why I played CTs so much 😉).
I would have loved to see a Booster Course Pass 2, to give more tracks the love they deserve. I even made a theoretical roster (only six cups, though), this time focusing on the remaining tracks in Tour (with one notable exception), which happens to give MK7 the spotlight this time. Cup names come from RyderKartDX’s video on the same topic: Sunshine Cup -(N64) Luigi Raceway -(3DS) Daisy Hills -(GCN) Mushroom Bridge -(GBA) Lakeside Park Mega Mushroom Cup -(DS) DK Pass -(3DS) Wario Shipyard -(GBA) Yoshi Desert -(N64) Koopa Troopa Beach Blooper Cup -(GBA) Luigi Circuit -(SNES) Choco Island 2 -(3DS) Shy Guy Bazaar -(N64) Mario Raceway Bullet Bill Cup -(3DS) Cheep Cheep Lagoon -(SNES) Vanilla Lake -(Wii) Dry Dry Ruins -(DS) Airship Fortress Boo Cup -(DS) Luigi's Mansion -(N64) Frappe Snowland -(SNES) Ghost Valley 2 -(3DS) Bowser's Castle Thundercloud Cup -(GCN) Dino Dino Jungle -(3DS) Rosalina's Ice World -(GBA) Bowser's Castle 4 -(DS) Rainbow Road (I know DS Rainbow Road isn’t in Tour, but I wanted to end it with a Rainbow Road, just like the other waves, and it ended up being DS RR.)
Now that the entirety of wave 6 has been revealed. I was originally disappointed that a Double Dash track got snubbed for another Wii course, but the more I think about it, the more Im glad, cause now the next Mario Kart game won't have as much Wii pandering as the BCP did, due to there only being five Wii courses that haven't been remade in a mainline Mario Kart (TOUR not included). Granted, three of the remaining Wii tracks are very solid tracks: Toads Factory, Bowser's Castle, and one of my personal favorite tracks of all time, Dry Dry Ruins, and the other two are Luigi and Mario Circuit, but hopefully they take the retro selection of the next game to bring more focus to other games besides MKWii.
Watch it still pander to Wii fans by remaking those same courses we've gotten (Or better yet those rumors of it being Mario Kart Ultimate where they bring back EVERY track in the entire series)
I didn't say it shouldn't have the most amount of courses. But nothing should be over-represented. We're at the point now where other games are barely getting anything because they are reserving the spots for mid tier Wii courses.
@@HDRookie Im only half joking, I just have a special place for mkwii in my heart because I played it a lot growing up (I don’t even play it anymore just mk8). I guess I just appreciate seeing more of it in mk8 but I understand your point more after watching the vid ☺️
@baconmunchgd5447 I get it. That's why this was always going to be one of the more controversial videos too. While there are more people that grew up with MKW, there are still people that grew up with other MKs too. I just think that should be accounted for a little bit more fairly than it has.
The ridiculous part is when mk wii fans got both funky kong and diddy kong but still had to keep crying that nintendo added pauline and peachette as well. As if more characters would hurt anyone, and I personally am sure as hell that no one will play funky kong after the first few weeks anyway because the only reason he used to be played is because he was broken as hell.
For as much as I love the Wii tracks(they're the best nitro selection to me, fight me DS), they did had to calm down and I would have much rather have an N64, 3DS, or GCN track take in for the mystery track.
One small correction I'd add is that the third "nitro" for wave 6 never existed to begin with, hence there being no evidence for it ever found within Tour's files. One of those blank spots was literally just a spot that was undecided as of wave 1.
I think it'd probable that they planned on making one but just never got around to it. They clearly showed a willingness to replace a retro track from the original leak so they had no reason to use a question mark as a placeholder imo
Wii. Rainbow. Road. Is. Coming. IT IS INEVITABLE.

Should've ported the wuhu tracks to your and brought back them back honestly
I would absolutely take losing moonview for Wuhu loop
And now we likely won't ever see them remade as 8 seemed like the big game for crossovers and a Nintendo kart seems extremely unlikely
MKX will probably return to the original Mario kart formula (with more cups probably) and have no crossovers which means the wuhu tracks won't return

Airship Fortress is the obvious pick in my mind, but even something like Wario Shipyard or another GBA track would have been nice to see.

To be fair, it’s underrepresented in the base game. Honestly, I was hoping there’d be more of a rebalancing in the BCP, and was pleasantly surprised. 🙂
That's what i'm saying
They did make up for lost time, but the stats at the end of the video also did take into account the base game totals. I would say Wii not only caught up, it got out to a massive lead.
Is it though? It was in base 8 on WiiU all the way back in 2014 but the DLC gave us Wario’s Goldmine bringing the number of courses up to 3 which is comparable to most other games represented in the base game, only being 1 behind 64, DD and 7, being the same as SS and DS and having more than Super. Seems fair enough to me
Worst of all, all 3 of them were some of my least favorite Wii courses 😭
The BCP really turned 8 Deluxe into a Wii sequel
As someone who has never play Mario Kart Wii, I both love and hate how many Wii tracks there are. I love it because it gives me a chance to play the courses from that game for the first time. But at the same time I wanna see tracks from other games, especially GCN and 3DS, I could name 5 tracks from both of those games I would've loved to see (Also because I can already play like 5 of the Wii tracks in the BCP on MK7, and it's alot of the best tracks there.
so for gcn my picks are
- Mushroom City
- Wario Colosseum
- Dino Dino Jungle
- Peach Beach
- Rainbow Road
and mk7 its
- Wuhu Loop
- Daisy Hills
- Shy Guy Bazaar
- Wario's Shipyard
- Bowser's Castle
69% is a big number.
its a nice number but number go bigger tho
im joking mkwii is over represented but there were alot of good tracks that came out of mkwii in my opinion
Honestly I’m just happy GBA got the 2nd most amount of love in the retro department, they all were so good too!
Oh right, i forgot how much you liked Sky Garden in this game.
@ldoge9639 sky garden is the one miss I'd say
The rest were all decent at worst
Us Wii fans... we are litterally the definition of spoiled, obnoxious kids with parents that give us whatever we want, when ever w- Oh look Daisy Circuit!
You're not funny.
Don't forget about Peach Gardens.
@@De_an Oh yeah he did mention Peach Gardens in the video as a Wii retro but not the others I listed above.
I don't care about MH being cnsw_63 - Daisy Circuit was never going to be the track that forced Mushroom Bridge out.
@@HDRookie I don’t care if you don’t care, your the one explicitly peddling the false hope that Mushroom Bridge (or a GCN track in general) was forced out by a track that didn’t force anything out, people have every right to call out misinfo whether you like it or not
1:45 'one of these games seems suspiciously large...'

WII FANS ARE FEASTING 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥 NOW SAVE SOME FOR THE REST OF US 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🥶🥶🥶
slight mistake.
Love the vids! Can’t wait for wave 6.
It's gonna be awesome
my favorite MK game is 7. so much so that I can hold my own competitively
and seeing how they treated the courses in the BCP is sad, not only did we get very little, but each track is inferior in some way to its original version.
@@caseyf14483 I agree to an extent, however I think Neo Bowser City was better in 7, the rain physics were not as slippery
@@SuperEpicnessthat is a opinion that I share that I will die on a hill with. I own both 8DX and 7 and 7’s version is much easier to handle.
@@aknight7642I like both but 8 Wii U DLC and Deluxe is is so beautiful to look at but I barely fall.
as a Neo Bowser City stan, it's so funny watching this play out 😂
I mean mario kart Wii is the best selling mario kart game after 8 deluxe so I kinda see why it get more tracks than other games that’s what I think anyway
If the booster course pass didn’t have tour tracks it would alone have 1/6 of the entire bcp which has 48 tracks
I have a feeling if they did the BCP without tour Wii would’ve had its whole track roster in MK8DX
The issue for me isn't the insane amount of Wii tracks, all of them were ones ive asked for
Its Mario Kart Wii's fanbase that is my issue
Even getting 8 tracks, they still are like "Why didn't Toads Factory return, 0/10" or "we want even more" its just they never have enough and keep asking for more. Which just shows how spoiled and annoying Wii fans are
I don't want to call them all out per say. But the ones who do this, show a lack of self awareness, I think
Toad’s Factory is peak though and it’s a straight up crime that they prioritized BUTCHERING 3DS Rainbow Road over bringing back this
Like, I could get behind that if 3DS RR had a worthy remake
I love mario kart wii a lot, its what got me into the series, it has a ton of great tracks.
But man a majority of MKWii fans are insufferable
Happens with every fanbase, to be fair
Mario kart Wii fans are goated tho. Y’all hate us bc you ain’t us
If I were fixing the BCP I would replace these Wii tracks
-Mushroom Gorge
-Moonview Highway
-Koopa Cape
The reason I chose MG and KC is because they were already in MKW and MK7, I’d put Shy Guy Bazar in wave 2 because it’s the most requested track since the Wii U DLC, Luigi’s Mansion and Dino Dino Jungle go into wave 5 because DS was done dirty last wave and GCN needs more love
(I’m ok with DS Mario Circuit because the music is so good)
I personally wouldn’t cut Moonview Highway… but purely because the new remixes are that good (might be tied with Big Blue for my favourite music in the entire game), as a track it’s kinda whatever
Us DS fans were robbed (heh) of airship fortress!!! LET US EAT TOO!!!😭
Mario kart wii was my first Mario game ever and I'm glad we're getting more wii tracks than just Coconut Mall, Mushroom Gorge, Maple Treeway and Koopa Cape.
Meanwhile Mario Kart 64: 💀☠️💀☠️
nah we dont have enough mario kart wii in here, give me toad's factory
Im heavily in favor of mkwii but mk8dx is my second favorite and im glad mkwii got the most representation in this game and mk double dash deserves almost the same amount of representation.
The fact none of the Special Cup tracks from Double Dash are in this game is criminal
Facts
The MKWii community is like Mario Kart's equivalent to the Melee community, but somehow less vocal, spoiled, and annoying.
Don't want this video to be about the players. Lots of good people who work hard for both of those game's communities. This is about Nintendo only lending their ear to one group above all else, imo.
listen, Wii may be my favorite mario kart, but that doesn't mean it needs THIS many tracks in 8 deluxe
Sure, that is the goal. But there were many people who grew up with the other games too, of course.
Tbh as a Wii fan, I am satisfied 👏🏾
Same here!
Agree
Very true
Yall BETTER be at this point lol
I am satisfied because Funky Kong is here and Moonview Highway was added that was all I wanted
Never thought I’d hear ppl complaining about Mario kart Wii courses being remade in HD. Literally all of em are bangers
2 unpredicted wii tracks that are no better than Toad's Factory
I didn't get them mixed up. The course ID thing literally means nothing.
@@HDRookie💀💀???? Moonview quite LITERALLY replaced the blank spot

I love Wii, but as someone that also loves DS and Double Dash it kinda sucks not seeing some of my favorite tracks from those games getting spotlight. Airship Fortress, GCN Bowser Castle, Wario Colosseum, GCN Rainbow Road, DS Bowser castle etc.
At least Double Dash got good tracks in the BCP but I would’ve loved to have seen Wario Colosseum

If that secret cup exists they're definitely putting Dry Dry Ruins in it haha
Mmm No lol@@HDRookie
I don’t think that it shouldn’t be that surprising since the very beginning of the BCP when MKWii had a large box art compare to the rest. It sounds dumb, but MKWii is the only other MK game that sold sky-rocketed other than MK8D
I would say that both MKDS and MK7 had pretty notable sales numbers as well still
As someone who loves Mario Kart Wii, I'm extremely frustrated by the amount of Wii courses in the BCP because I've already played all of those dozens of times and the main appeal of the BCP for me is that it enables me to play courses I've never played before.
The opposite perspective I see. I personally enjoy a good mix of old and new!
I really wanted DD’s rainbow road :(
I love just watching Rookie poking the Wii bear... Hehe....
Mkwii fans when they don’t get Mii outfit B: 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Having a GCN track get scrapped while Wii got over double the amount really bothers me. It frankly just feels unfair
Perhaps the prefix leak made it feel like our expectations were tinkered with, yeah
Ninja hideaway was in tour before the bcp was even planned, it's a tour track.
the tour tracks have been good save for sky high sundae
also Rosalina's Ice World was snuck into wave 6 so hey there's that
The fact we’re gonna get the whole wii roster in Mario kart deluxe and the entire star cup is going to be in the game
@@HDRookie
For me, Shy Guy Bazaar and Rosalina’s Ice World are the only 3DS track left that would fit the dlc.
Wii is like the younger child of mario kart and I love it
Wii is my childhood game and the tracks they picked are great but yeah it is slightly overrepresented.
Well, Moonview Highway was always going to prevent Mushroom Bridge from coming back. No longer made sense for them to add it.
While I agree, I think we should point the blame at Mario circuit before moonview highway
Moonview Highway got remixes that may just be the best music in the entire game, so imo it was worth it
(Also, Double Dash could only realistically get 4 tracks max in the Booster Course Pass anyway)
Yes, the music is honestly the only thing I like about Moonview Highway tbh. That saxophone in the city goes hard.
I really hope that every track made in history is in the next Mario Kart game. That would be sick. Also, adding a double dash mode to that would be great.
I don't believe it'll happen. They probably would've chosen some tracks differently in the BCP if that was the plan.
I will not take this toad circuit slander
It's probably because WII is the best selling game (not counting Mario Kart 8) and less the competitive scene but dude Jesus Wii is so over-represented
It definitely has to do with popularity, I get it.
my only problem with the BCP is that when they added half pipes they didn't give them their own ramp and just reused antigrav
Nothing is worse than the turns in Coconut Mall, had no idea how important those half pipes were
They have to reuse anti grav because the half pipes wouldn't work without them. Different games have different engines. They did it for better tricks, mobility, imitating its physics, and similar gameplay. You can also spin boost instead of bumping into a player while you're airborne. Nothing's wrong with anti-grav on the half-pipes, it's just a cool feature.
@@RuRyRyRyan No I mean as in the literal ramp itself the blue pad with the circles, I wish they just made a different one for the half pipes
Like 6 Wii tracks should've been enough in the Booster Course pass like they should've replaced the GCN track with like a DS or N64 track.

The original BCP plan would've more than made up for that still 🙂
Yeah and then 8 in the BCP
