I have never been to Ireland but the only place I been that it reminds me a little of, is trips over to Tasmania and places like Launceston that the streets seemed very hilly.

The most famous visitors to the English Market in Cork were Queen Elizabeth of England and her husband Philip in 2011. They were on a State visit to Ireland at the time and they were given a tour of Cork. The Cork people spoke to them as though they were "normal" people. No Upper Class in Ireland.

Fun fact about that dunnes stores also, when the brittish burned cork they came from the hill at tye end of the street they actually tried to burn the building whre dunnes is first before advancing to the city hall and finding loads of drink, by that night they were so drunk they came back to finnish the job and went on a mad one burning buildings where dunnes is was the first one
Cobh is beautiful..full of history. Was lovely to see yer reaction to the amazing St Colmans Cathedral. Great ye found Seasalt cafe...its great spot. Glen..you do know Cork is the REAL CAPITAL OF IRELAND....😂
Awh sure just trying to explore my own beautiful country! its definitely magical, you appreciate it more when you travel abroad for a few years! Claire I would honestly prefer Cork as the capital any day haha, gives the real Irish vibes!
Love it guys, When I did my hitch hiking around Eire in 1978... .yes that long ago. I hitched from Kinsale to Cork, and then went to Blarney Castle and it cost 40p to kiss the Blarney Stone. ( I still have my travel diaries) then hitched to Arthurstown - the nearest YHA. great memories x
You lived in the better days Richard! they were probably the best years in life when things were safe and people were friendlier! Were glad that Ireland always has a place in your heart though :) I also kissed that stone when I was on a school trip haha.

That pie is $21 NZD. The pastry looks like what they use for traditional pork pies which cost about $7 NZD, but that one does look a bit larger. Perhaps there is a market there for NZ/AUS style meat pies with a more comparable price. I would like to add that Beef is already free range. All NZ beef is grass fed.

Excellent video but there's so much more to see in Cork City, even around the edges of the city centre. Shandon (best view over the city for tourists), Old Cork City Gaol, UCC, St Finbarres Cathedral, Elizabeth Fort and Blackrock Castle (now a space observatory) just to name a few. Blarney Castle is just out the road - personally I could take or leave the castle but the grounds are superb. Glad you enjoyed your trip.. 👍

We need skilled educated people though! Not unskilled young males hopping off planes and boats with no passports! My niece who is a doctor and her boyfriend who has a degree in management are planning to go to Australia next year. My daughter is in her third year of nursing and also plans to go there when she’s finished her 4 year degree course. These are the people we should be encouraging to stay. The cost of living is very high in Ireland though. And house prices are mental.

You guys missed a trick in Cobh by not taking a trip out to Spike Island which was a fort and prison back and forth through history until the 1980s.
