Armand is one of the vampire chronicles most tragic characters when you really think about it... does that make his actions more or less understandable/excusable?
I definitely don’t think they make his actions more excusable, but I think his past makes them more understandable. I myself was a victim of childhood r*pe and exploitation, went on till I was 12, and the main abuser, who was my father, is in prison now. My own troubles made Armand’s story a hard read, and this season a difficult watch, but I believe the show handled it well. Armand is a POS, but I think people are wrong when they say he doesn’t love, or that he’s heartless, etc. In my opinion he believes his manipulation and abuse is a form of love-likely due to how he grew up. I mean, many (not most) victims behave the same exact way in real life (at least, their foundations are the same). Thankfully this is fiction so we can enjoy it haha, in real life these people should always be avoided.
Iam thinking that none of those vampires deeds are excusable. So Armand is same. There is no right or wrong in their lives. So I think Armand is just the way he is just as twisted as any vampire in this book is.
