Last time I watched this OVA I was in the 6th grade. I'm a high school graduate now. It's been so long, I finally found this video.

I just realized... Naruto and sasuke both fought the akatsuki members who were a part of their clan.. Sasuke fought uchiha itachi and naruto fought uzumaki nagato.

kouthao difference is Naruto and Nagato aren't brothers but then again makes me wonder if the Ame Orphans came to Konoha with Jiraiya would Nagato become an older brother figure to Kushina and an uncle figure to Naruto only to join the Akatsuki after a fake mission in the Hidden Rain gave to the Ame orphans by Danzo which resulted in Yahiko's death. Imagine what Naruto would say to Sasuke saying he doesn't know what it's like to have a family and lose em. Betcha Naruto would give Sasuke a dose of reality telling him about his uncles Nagato and Yahiko and aunt Konan.

Sasuke fought Itachi who possesses the Mangekyo Sharingan and Naruto fought Nagato who possesses the Rinnegan then Obito possessing both, talk about foreshadowing moments. Two of Obito's trusted subordinates defeated by two rivals only to end up fighting him. Wow.

Nah I think you’re looking too much into it. But, it isn’t a stretch to say that both of their character defining moments was when they fought akatsuki members from their own clan.
Itachi wasn't a trusted subordinate to Obito, Itachi didn't trust that man at all

This is such a masterpiece. I remember when it first came out long before we were even near the finale of the story. Still evokes such chills and deep emotion. Naruto is forever iconic art.

I feel like this came out after them finding sasuke in shippuden. It's amazing how much foreshadowing kishimoto put in this and it's done perfectly

These two kids have been through so much together. They raised each-other and shaped each-other into the people they are today. It’s incredible how an anime can depict this with such an intricate and detailed story, while maintaining badass fight scenes.

There's also the circumstances of both which raised both. Sasuke's circumstances led him to be problemed & needing rescue. Naruto is the person who held out and it worked out bc it's a shonen anime but wonderful nonetheless.

I still love this "version of the story" for them over the anime one... This is so much better than the fight after the kage summit, so more simple, strong and nostalgic!! And the expression on Sakura and Kakashi faces with Naruto supposedly dead are perfect!

oh no...the nostalgia omg. It's almost like a routine by now to watch this after a long while just to get that nostalgic heart-clenching, heart-wrenching feeling. I've grown up with Naruto and I was there each time a new episode came out...that feeling of coming back after school just to catch a new episode...
How times have changed and how I've grown up since I've first watched this video. I still have the original from so many years ago somewhere. It's like a national treasure that I'll always hold precious, with the way it shaped and defined my childhood. Each time I watch this, I'm reminded of how time flies and I should enjoy what I have while I have them...
It's sad that I will never have the same level of attachment to Boruto and I honestly wished it never even existed lol. Good for people who can enjoy it...but it feels like an insult to the OG characters to me, so I just can't watch it.
I honestly feel the Naruto franchise should have ended with Naruto and Sasuke fighting each other but with a really heart-wrenching, sad ending (or the same ending but without the forced romance) INSTEAD of the bullshit fanservice (aka Burrito)...Burrito feels like a cashgrab instead of a successor to a series which many adore.
Anyway, enough ranting, I really wish yt doesn't take this one down and we have it for even many more years to come back to :D

This OVA right here was a taste of Naruto and Sasuke's final battle back when the manga was still in the Five Kage Summit Arc and is why the manga battle was so disappointing to me. The anime final battle more than made up for it, though.

Lest we forget that it's moments like this that led up to the fourth great ninja war, at the very end of which Naruto and Sasuke finally picked up the pieces, and put the past behind them once and for all.
they should have had a fight like this when they met after danzo killed danzo. It would have fit perfectly in the story and we would have felt it
Honestly that would have been absolutely amazing, and then after this battle instead of all the reanimations the final battles are with Sasuke, Obito and Kabuto to keep it simple yet far more meaningful. (Just an idea though).

I come back and watch this every so often and it still holds up as a masterpiece of an OVA. So much incredible emotion and storytelling packed into 5 minutes with one of the best Aqua Timez songs, which is really saying something. Freaking fantastic.

I remember when this first came out, I wasn't caught up on Naruto because of the constant fillers and thought Naruto and Sasuke were officially having their rematch.
There were so many animations of them fighting back then that it drove me nuts when trying to find out if it was legit. Good times

I just realized this is how the series must have ended. When Sasuke completed his ambition of killing Itachi and Naruto got acknowledged by the village by defeating Pain, they should have gone straight to the final arc of Sasuke and Akatsuki vs Konoha and allies.
I agree. The story dragged on for too long. To the point when Naruto fought Sasuke at the end I’m just like “Alright, this is just the logical conclusion to the series, let’s just watch this and get it over with”. There was really no emotion anymore at that point.
But you gotta admit , if it follows that route, we wont be able to have the bad ass Madara , the epic battle against Juubi, the revived Hokage and Itachi saved the world
To me the final battle of Naruto and Sasuke are well made, at that point both gained enough experience to be full pledged shinobi, harnessed their power to be the strongest in the world, also how can you not like the giant susanoo vs giant kurama , that shit was the best
@@narutosage37 in fact I didn’t like a bit that they revived all those characters, specially Itachi. His death meant a lot to the series, and to Sasuke. Having him back was like washing away the mystery that surrounded the character, and weighted out Sasuke’s decisions from then on. By this I mean that Itachi’s death influenced Sasuke’s character 100%, and by bringing Itachi back they broke this dynamic.
Joaquín Calvo not really, Obito manipulated Sasuke so he went against Itachi's will
You may not like Itachi's comeback, but the way Kishimoto executed edo Itachi's storyline is very good. Despite being dead and controlled by Kabuto, he managed to break out out the spell and saved the world, said to Sasuke what he couldnt say when he was alive, bring Sasuke 50% back to good side( the other 50% contribution is from Edo hokages and Naruto's efforts )
Hell na we would have never had one of the greatest fights in anime history “kakashi vs obito” and many other iconic moments

I love this, I wish this fight was canon, oh and why is nobody talking about how naruto has Asuma’s blades
I feel like this is how the fight should’ve been instead of what we got. Naruto didn’t even use his entire arsenal in the fight we got and he was on the defenses. Don’t get me wrong i loved their last battle but i feel like some of the combat displayed in this OVA should’ve been replicated. Naruto with asumas blades tho was tuff
If the series had ended like this, it would have been a very good sequel....

I am fucking glad they both became friends again. Everytime I watched Boruto or read the manga. I always felt like that proud parent seeing them growing up. The feels and nostalgia ♥️

Come to think of it, why DIDN'T Naruto use sage mode earlier on in the actual final battle? For the first few minutes, he could barely even land a hit on Sasuke. Although, the fact that he could hold his own against an EMS + Rinnegan Sasuke with no power-ups for that long is pretty impressive.

He was using Sage Mode.
Dude Sasuke didn't even use his Sharingan at the start. He used Almighty pull once then he used his EMS while Naruto used BM mode aswell.
Plus Naruto's body is still enhanced by Six paths chakra
Having seen this series for the fifth time I am beginning to believe that this "ova" is actually Kishimoto's original basis for the end of Naruto. We all know that the publisher pressured him to close the story by following popularity surveys

Wow, finally. Been looking for this for gazillion years. It was so difficult to find since I only remembered the ending and the baby crying. The things I went through to find it..
Man to this day I still don't know what that baby's cry represents. This clip really makes me feel Kishi had a slightly different idea back then for the ending, one I think I would have loved, not too bash.
damn I remember this ova from years ago and shooting a shot in the dark that sasuke would get rinnegan because of the circle pattern at the end. had no idea I'd be right. pretty cool
