VANDEMATARAM is a universal phrase even you can say..... Because it transalates into "Salute to you, Mother" and Maa Tujhe Salam is also means the same.
Vande mataram the original composition was by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay & was extensively used in 1905 against teh communal divide of Bengal. To unite all. To say that we might be of different religions but if same soil. And since then for every Indian it’s patriotic song first.

One correction - This is not National song of India , They Have taken just one line from The National song which is 'Vande Mataram'.

Ar Rahman is a Tamil Muslim, however his Love for India is not compromised as Tamil is his mother language. The last batches of singers are singing in Tamil, then he approches to the stage. What we understand from this, India is universal and have their own history and languages ❤❤
