Hey man, I just want to say I’ve been watching your videos for a while and you are awesome! Always helping me fix my broken shit😂😂 keep it up man! (I HAVE A 2007 LTZ400 SO THESE VIDEOS ARE PERFECT!
Nice bike and great channel! I got myself a ltz too. I was told u have some helpful tipps for getting a Doug gust cut done. I would love to cut my Plastiks just like u did
Do you find yourself forgetting sometimes that your on a different bike when you switch? I have a KFX450R and LTR450 and when i try to switch between them i find myself getting into trouble sometimes, cause i forget which bike im on.
All the time. All 3 of mine share very similar components especially in terms of bars/controls. That said I think I finally got all 3 to have a similar feel in suspension at least over the whoops where I have predictability. The Z is the most different between all 3, where the LTR you can definitely feel the most weight. The 250r is by far the most predictable and easiest to get to do what you want. That said switching around can be interesting since the 250r is much more of a momentum type machine with almost no engine/compression braking which makes for very fast corner speed entrances which I can mimmick on the 4 strokes with a clutch but it just isn't the same. The other thing is line choices, especially if they are worn in from 4 strokes, forget it. The 250r will not be able to keep up it always needs the outside/high line vs. the 4 pokes. Really great question and I think about it often. I have the same couple loops I always warm up on to get used to the machine I am on before I go venture off to new stuff or follow/lead a group.
Hey Nathan, I actually recorded a video not too long ago but the audio didn't work so I had to scrap it but, I talked about the big bore and how I probably have 250+ hours on it since installing it exactly 3 years ago. Zero issues! Highly recommend the cylinder works kit.
i want to build my kfx, do you have any engine mods? if so what do you have? i want to get a 490 kit and do all of that and then the cosmetic stuff and suspension but not sure if it would be worth it or not. btw i have a 434 kit and a slip on exhaust and im not super happy with the performance, but i love the ltz and kfx platforms so i want to keep it but get that performance similar to a modern bike.
Yes, I have covered it in a few of my walk through videos. For where I ride, I really like the 434 kit, DRZe kit (thinner base gasket to bump compression and dual rate valve springs, Hot cams, FCR Carb, Dynatek CDI, and a lightened flywheel. These mods will really wake up the 400 motor and put it on par with a 450 in the woods. I have no experience with a 470 or 490 kit, I am sure they are monsters but I am hard on transmissions and already chipped a tooth on 3rd gear with a stock motor I'd hate to see what a torque monster like a 490 would do over a period of time. When I want to go real fast I have the 250R and LTR. Good luck and have fun, excellent platform to build on!
@@PatrickRiggs33yeah i’m gonna stick with the 434 kit. i think a full exhaust, jet and no lid will really bring it to life. only thing is the exhaust. i’ve heard people say barkers, empire or yoshi is the best. i’m looking at those options but mainly empire, yoshi and hmf. which would you think is best?
@@premium1188in my opinion Yoshi. If you are after dyno numbers then maybe empire or barkers but I think they are obnoxiously loud exhausts that give quads a bad name.
@@PatrickRiggs33 i ended up going with barkers. i was super worried about it being loud as well and the quad being ruined but wow it sounds so good and it’s not loud at all.
Do you still have the 250r? I’m getting back into the sport after riding a bunch as a kid but am pushing 40 and debating between a trx/yfz 4stroke or going the 250r (have always wanted one) route. I came across your 250r trail videos and I live just south of croom. You’re videos restored my faith that the 250r could be a good trail machine after I had written it off. Any thoughts would be awesome. Love the videos man.
Hey man, yes I do. I have actually been riding it the last few weekends. If you have always wanted one, go for it. Just know you will need to work on it, but they are super rewarding. Light, handle the best, and will go as fast as you want them to.
Your bike made me want to get one of my own. So I did and now I’m learning to upgrade the suspension. Great video.
That Looked Like FUN!

“I CAN turn left!” - what movie?
Where did the floats gooooo??
They floated off somewhere
Do you know where I can get a set of + 2 houser a-arms for my Z?
You will have to find them used on Facebook marketplace or eBay. I would personally go JD Performance.
@@PatrickRiggs33 thanks

Hello, can you tell me if you have air filter intake kit?
Yes, pro design pro flow.
Hey Patrick, just want to know how's the reliability of the z since you put the 434
