Awesome vid. Thank you. Just bought one and was scared it was a fake but it appears to be real based off what I’ve learned from this vid. Thanks again.
This tamper evident packaging and other junk just helps counterfeiters. It just prevents actual inspection and offers little to no value... it's almost a negative.
I got it wrong at 1st because of the edge window, I was under the impression that counterfeiters try to hide the thickness by not letting you see around the bar from frontal shots on eBay, etc. I would've caught the fake while in hand but could've been fooled by purchasing on the web
The Sigma he's using only scans into the bar a small bit and can be tricked with heavy plating easily... it'll fail to identify newer fakes. The PMV with through scanning is really needed in todays market.
@@DeanDangerousTDD7 no problem... even the XRF will be fooled by heavy plating or be unable to detect other metals embedded deep into the bars. You need to use a variety of methods and technology today in my opinion to make sure your bullion is pure/authentic
@@xephael3485 Are you beginning to think that the market is contaminated to the point of no return. The amount of stories on fake precious metals seems to be rising with no end in sight.
@@DeanDangerousTDD7 There are a lot of fakes and scammers increasing in all markets in my opinion... You just need to have the tools and experience to judge what you're buying and determine quality... Depending on the product you're buying a scale, and calipers along with product familiarity will weed out 99% of the fakes
Question.... I live in a very rural area in which the nearest coin shop is at least an hour away so I purchase 90+% of my PM's from online bullion dealers. (SD bullion, JM Bullion, Hero Bullion, Provident, Apmex, BoldPM) Have you or anyone ever encountered a fake from one of these large reputable online bullion dealers?
I bought a 2015 Royal Canadian Mint Grey Wolf 3/4 Oz Silver Coin off ebay and looking at your website I think it is a fake! Pissed off. It hasn't arrived yet but judging from the pictures it is fake. I'm going to get a refund.
@@DeanDangerousTDD7 1. it didn't weigh what it claimed it weighed. 2. It didn't have a reeded edge, it was smooth. 3. There were also minor differences between the official coin design and what this coin was. Weigh every coin you get and inspect them for basic design.

Nice I'm very familiar with the website but it's nice to know that there is a youtube counterpart.
From the 1st look A is genuine and B is counterfeit
Awesome video. It's nice to have a precious metals verifier. I have the same one as yours. Worth the 600 dollar investment.

Very unlikely, but I would suspect not impossible.
Some guy on ebay is selling 3 of these as sold as seen, they haven't been checked if they're real or not starting bid £12, as if..
I have seen em on wish for same price, maybe he is selling them as fakes?
Interesting. The gold was so much thinner yet so much heavier.
Can you check the bar number on the back to verify authenticity?
George24 I don’t think so for Perth Mint bars I cannot find a online verifier
The counterfeit bars typically follow the numbering of genuine bars, so the number alone won't tell you if a bar is authentic.
How about Scottsdale squares, those little ones? Can those be fake? Are they considered bullion?
Informative
Is Dillon Gage reliable or Provident Metals?

@@travv88 thanks & I will,
This coin & bullion market seems to have been contaminated to the point where even offical mints are suspect these days.
Значит этот прибор, анализатор металлов не может подделку определить?!!!! Получается подделку можно распознать только по массе?
Why dont you use ultrasound?
Whats that gonna do?
@@medotaku9360 Ultra sound can help find tungsten or other metals inserts in large bars. On small or plated bars it's useless.
Anyone who leaves a negative thumbs down. Is a gold scam artist themselves. They don't want this video up. Costs them money.
I agree
Which is real?
What happens if you've bought a fake scanner?
Then you suck at life.
A is real b fake
I buy from Liberty on ebay never a issue
That you know of... Many people don't know they're fake until it gets flagged by an astute buyer that verifies it.
