you missed out the fact that the Biggoron Swords sheath has been changed to match the blades length instead of being the same as the master swords from the N64 version
I’ve actually noticed that since I starte playing it on the switch online service how the biggoron sword just disappears when being sheathed as you said. So cool they fixed such a small detail in the “remake”
@@kylecochrane4450 i totally understand that. I have the 3DS version too but it’s nice to play on the big TV with the N64 controller I got ages ago when they brought n64 games to Switch
@@Erometal I never played the original N64 version didn't really get into Zelda till after a few years of Botw's release maybe in 2019 after that I started getting a few of the older titles such as Ocarina of time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D
One thing I love that I didn't see you mention with the 3DS version, is that when you enter an area from Hyrule Field, the time of day in the area matches the exact time of day as Hyrule Field, so you can see these places with actual sunsets and sunrises. I love the sunset in Kakariko Village. In the original Ocarina of Time, the game would choose to display either night or day depending on when you went somewhere. If it was sunset, it would directly be night, etc.
I had and still have the Gold 1.0 N64 version of Ocarina of Time. You might not have known this but in Version 1.0 there is blood in some of the rooms in both the Bottom on the Well and the Shadow Temple. The 3Ds version changed Dead Hand another 3DS change was the boat in the Shadow Temple.
Actually, the D-pad has a pratical use, you can hold it to any direction while playing the ocarina and the sound will change! Each of the directions gives you a different sound while playing R, L, X, Y, and A, and it also works for all the different instruments on Majora's mask 3D
9:09 the reason for this is because originally, the ending scenes lagged like hell due to all the NPCs present, so they had built the pacing of the cutscene with the lag in mind. Since the Wii/Wii U versions is more powerful... yea. The Gamecube versions end credits was actually converted into prerendered video format because of this issue, though i don't know why they didn't do that with the wii/wii u versions
Really late, but I think it's because the Virtual Console it's just the original ROM, while in the GameCube it was a modified ROM specifically for the console
A side effect of the GameCube version pre rendering the credits is that certain actions you did in game aren’t reflected in the credits, for example, the running man can wear the bunny hood in the credits if you gave it to him, but that won’t happen on GameCube.
Same thing happens with the Majora's Mask cutscene where the four giants arrive and stop the moon. It think it's in the Virtual Console version, where the cutscene ends before the music is finished.
The only use of the ice arrows in Ocarina of Time is: You only need to shoot one hand of Bongo-Bongo to make him charge you with his eye. Yes, mind blowing! Why use two arrows if you can use a single arrow with magic?
@@shadowledastray Well yes, that does make sense, what doesn't make sense is that all arrow types deal the exact same amount of damage, regardless if magic was used or not. And since you can carry so many arrows but only have so much magic (let's be real, the 4 bottles are just going to be fairies anyway), the only time I really use any magic arrows is for Ganon. Buuuut still, there is this possibility, which is hinted towards by a shiekah stone saying "Bongo-Bongo doesn't like the cold" it's vague, it's useless, but it's a thing barely anyone knows because it's not useful after all.
@@cptnoremac Is that so? I can not recall that at all. I know for a fact that light arrows are a scam to use. They use a lot of magic, while doing no more than regular arrows except for the end of Ganon's trials and during the fight against Ganondorf. Are fire and ice arrows actually stronger? I can try that out. On 3DS, N64 and gamecube. (If only my memory card of the gamecube wasn't lost).
@@Koyu_Ruh Yeah, the wiki says fire and ice have 4 strength and regular and light have 2. For years I thought the light arrows were strong too. One thing I noticed that was different that you didn't mention. Is that Dark LInk is more aggressive in the water temple. And not so much in sync with the original Link. Making him far easier to beat in the 3DS version. Then in the N64 & game cube version.

Just pressed them and thought they were completely useless lol I guess this video isn't so informative as I thought XD But thank you for pointing that out!
@@KCTriesNOT Nah, don´t dwell on it. It´s a tiny detail compared to all the good work you poured on the video. To be honest, I only found out about it because the minimap annoys me so much, and even more so to have it on both screens. The D-pad could easily have had better uses.
Hey neat, you used a bunch of images I made for Zelda Wiki! It's always nice to see where they show up. One funny tidbit about the Gerudo symbol: when they changed it in the GameCube version, they actually missed one! You can see it around the ceiling in the underground area where you race Dampé's ghost. They did fix it eventually, but I forget if they did so on the Virtual Console or the 3DS version.
The GameCube collectors edition game was also bundled with the console in North America for a short period. That was how I got mine and it was my introduction to the series!
Slight correction on the glitch fixing, you can still leave the fishing pond with the fishing rod on 1.1 and 1.2 cartridges, however, a particular method of doing so was patched, that being you equip the Hover Boots, run into the water until you start hovering above it, and then before the Hover Boots wear off, cast the rod.
The D pad does indeed disable the mini map, but you need to hold down the d pad for a few seconds. It's in the controls selection of the manual. My guess as to why Is disabling the map by accident If It wasn't in hold mode. 11:32

Link in the N64 version is walking away with the deku shield on his back but in the 3 GameCube versions Link is walking away with the Hyrule Shield on his back instead of the deku shield.
18:30 you can still get into the shadow temple from the other side using hookshot + ironboots rocket jump. and can also get into shadow temple without the use of magic as well.
Heck yeah I own version 1.0 on N64!!! But my N64's reset button is stuck so it will randomly reset even if I'm up to my neck in a dungeon. Which sucks.
It could be full of crud and dirt try some electrical contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol squirt it in there when it's switched off then push it in and let go a few times should help it not stick maybe use a q tip to clean when it is pushed down.
6:25 Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure what Nintendo has a problem with is the illegal distribution of ROMs, not the usage of emulators. Considering what the Virtual Console and the NES and SNES online we have now do run on emulation.
And another thing about the Link figures on the quest selection it that in the original quest file screen link holds the master sword in his left hand and in the Master Quest file screen he holds it in his right

And then the idea came to me- what if you played every different version of every Zelda game? I immediately thought about OoT because it has been made available in so many ways and I think it would be super interesting how every game is slightly different every time it gets ported to another console. I just know there’s some crazy Zelda fan out there who HAS played every version of every game
I own a GameCube Zelda cheat disc its compatible with Ocarina of Time, Wind waker and Twilight princess. You insert the disc into the GameCube and select the Zelda game and cheats that you want and then you insert the Zelda game.
You forgot to mention what you can see through the right - hand window when you enter Zelda's palace garden & how Impa has different standing postures in the N64 & 3DS games.
3DS cause of gyro aiming, master quest included, character models closely resemble ORIGINAL art work, faster text speed, more colorful, removed some glitches (bad ones mainly), 4 free item slots with the ocarina having its own slot not taking up space, no crowded top screen, easy navigating touch screen, portability, and some others I'm probably missing
I remember there was a store that had the Zelda collection edition just out and about I bought it for 10 bucks and when my friend came over to play and his dad came to pick him up he freaked out wondering where I got it from. Learning how rare it was I hated how I lost it when I moved as well as my box of games.
God I wish I knew how rare that collector's disc thing was. Sold it with the rest of my Gamecube games. I wish I knew in general just how valuable a lot of my old games would be these days.
14:31 "If that's even possible..." If they can make the Ice Palace from A Link to the Past less annoying (certain rooms were completely redesigned), anything may very well be possible...but who knows?
11:32 You can actually hide the minimap by holding down one of the directions on the dpad for about 3 seconds, I forgot which one. The know it all brothers in kokiri forest tell you about it,
Is there gameplay differences between 1.0 1.1 and i beleive 1.2 or is it just the one integer change for the lanquage? You cant trust wikipedia nowadays. You say that you didnt list the glitches fixed, but is there a master list somewhere. I cant find one if there is
Yep, in the final boss fight with Ganon and Link delivers the final blow, I noticed that the blood was green in the Virtual Console version, and the blood was red in the Rom version
you forgot to mention the way link jumps. in the 64 and gamecube versions he jumps like a normal person would , by springing off the ball if his foot (the top part below the toes) but in the the 3ds version he awkwardly and unrealistically jumps by hiking both of his legs up almost doing a split in mid-air. personally I think it looks stupid. and you also forgot about adult zelda's dress being changed from pink (64 & gamecube) to purple (3ds). I think she looks better in pink.
Hey KCTries you forgot to mention on the Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition that you can play the Legend of Zelda Wind Waker Demo with only 3 save files on there 1 Boss fight 2 Dungeon 3 whatever the Village is called when you first meet the King of Red Lions also in all versions of the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time even the Nintendo 3DS version when you meet sheik in Kakariko Village when Bongo Bongo comes out of the Well he looks different in each versions

Learning how rare it was I hated how I lost it when I moved as well as my box of games.
Great video
Wow what an amazing job loco
God I wish I knew how rare that collector's disc thing was. Sold it with the rest of my Gamecube games. I wish I knew in general just how valuable a lot of my old games would be these days.
14:31 "If that's even possible..."
If they can make the Ice Palace from A Link to the Past less annoying (certain rooms were completely redesigned), anything may very well be possible...but who knows?
bro the eu cart for this game go hard asf
11:32 You can actually hide the minimap by holding down one of the directions on the dpad for about 3 seconds, I forgot which one. The know it all brothers in kokiri forest tell you about it,
Nice vídeo dude
Does the GCN version run at a higher frame rate than N64?
I always used the ice arrows to make platforms in the water behind jabu jabus belly to easily get to the cavern
I dont know if this was new but the guard at death Mountain says you can get the hylian sheild at a discount or for free at the shop in hyrule castle
Is there gameplay differences between 1.0 1.1 and i beleive 1.2 or is it just the one integer change for the lanquage? You cant trust wikipedia nowadays. You say that you didnt list the glitches fixed, but is there a master list somewhere. I cant find one if there is
20:06 -- hey hold up, hold up... I used to use deku nuts on the first boss and on the first phase of the Ganon fight
yeah Deku Nuts are insanely powerful and useful to both speedrunners and casual players. It's insane the amount of utility they actually have.
your background theme is seriously so bright and blinding
16:33 What's the big deal about it? I've never seen that Cuccoo in the 3DS version.
Yep, in the final boss fight with Ganon and Link delivers the final blow, I noticed that the blood was green in the Virtual Console version, and the blood was red in the Rom version
The Australian cartridge just gave me childhood flashbacks
thanks a bunch for this video super useful!
Just out of curiosity, where are you from? Your English is excellent and you even made me laugh a bunch of times!
Lovely video !
Great video. So much research 👍
Bring back the Fire Temple chant😔
Yeah the new fire temple music sucks
you forgot to mention the way link jumps. in the 64 and gamecube versions he jumps like a normal person would , by springing off the ball if his foot (the top part below the toes) but in the the 3ds version he awkwardly and unrealistically jumps by hiking both of his legs up almost doing a split in mid-air. personally I think it looks stupid. and you also forgot about adult zelda's dress being changed from pink (64 & gamecube) to purple (3ds). I think she looks better in pink.
They changed the symbol at 6:55 because it was similar to the islamic symbol and not to the turkey flag.
Wait the Oot cartridge isn't gild every where that was only normal for Australia
16:00 it is pronounced by combining pole and tiss (like hiss but with a t).
Only 160 subs????? I expected the channel to be bigger bc of the video quality
I could never get the ice arrows; even with a guide, the Gerudo Training Ground is hard for me to understand. Which means any hopes I would have of getting a Gerudo wife are gone
I had the gold cartridge Ocarina version. It's been a long time but I think in order to get it you had to pre order through Nintendo Power. I saw a thing not long ago that if you had the version I got and you never opened it, it sells easy 500+ on ebay. 🙃
Played the original on the n 64 1998/1999 got to the water level,
had a 3ds and played it, did not get far, sold it,
today on saturday october 15 2022 i finished the game on a 3 ds that i bought a few months ago, history has been made. Zelda gg
Now I feel Lucky to own the collectors edition of zelda to gamecube ( I live in Europe)
I know this video is two years old, but the only use of the Ice Arrows I could find in OOT comes by freezing Bongo-Bongo's hands.
I've only been able to do it in Randomizer cuz who does Gerudo Desert before the Shadow Temple
I do lol
thanks for the video
Very underrated
