I have never ridden a Guzzi I didn't love, other than the V9, and that was only due to ergonomics (the sharp creases on the side of the V9's tank dig into my knees). I love Guzzi so much that I bought a Breva V1100 sight unseen and I love it. I can't wait until I get the chance to swing my leg over a V100 Mandello, this bike looks great and seems to perfectly carry the Guzzi soul into the future.
Seemed pretty sweet, not just guzzi, but I always love a bike that uses a kinda weird engine/drive train layout. The side mounted v twin definitely makes for that, as something that doesn't seem like a great idea in the modern Era, but they stuck with it, and it's one of the things that makes it really cool.
@@spartanx169x I have a Moto Guzzi for my daily bike and the centre of gravity is really low. It handles superbly, and way better than you'd expect from the overall weight of the bike, especially if you can take it to a winding road, I'm sure you noticed Spite Gushing in the twisties segment. 😅

LOL Spite, you tend to forget that there is essentially NO mainstream media advertising for the the big motorcycle companies anymore. 90% of what advertising DOES exist is on social media, and that is DIRECTED advertising, determined by an individual's social media and browsing habits. Thus, outside the motorcycling community itself, the average American (or Canadian) doesn't even know that Moto Guzzi EXISTS! Of course, we always know a bike is a good one when it gives Spite the giggles in the first three minutes of the ride!
How do you compare the street riding experience to the Tuono V4 you recently reviewed? I know you loved that bike on its own merits but felt it was just too much to make sense for daily riding. How does the handling, comfort, and character compare? If you could only have one bike which would you choose?
The 2007 Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 that I owned for a year and a half was one of my favorite bikes. In my opinion, a beautiful motorcycle. One that drew many questions and also looks from people in that tilted head way that seemed to say "what is that?" It was not terribly fast but it had a great "feel" to it with the low end torque. Ergonomically it was perfect for my tall frame and comfortable for long rides. Sadly I wrecked it. Maybe this will replace it and hopefully level-up those characteristics that made my by-gone Goose so endearing!

The first bike I ever fell in love with was a Guzzi and now, 40 years later, I'm still trying to buy one. But something always got in the way (no local dealers, wrong models available for my wants) so I've always missed out. This bike seems to finally hit the spots, like the old LeMans in looks but better for touring. I'm thinking of this as a 3rd bike but I don't know if I've been so spoiled by my current main ride (2014 Goldwing Valkyrie) that I'll still find a less 'refined' bike a worthy ride. Anybody with any thoughts?
Great review. I knew you had it in you. I think I heard you laugh? A lot negative has been said about Guzzi's over the years but you most all of them have a soul.
I believe this will be my next bike, as I love how it looks, it sounds brilliant and must say everyone who rides it, says it rides beautifully I own a car but find my self always using my motorcycle, going to work, going to play sport and visiting family and friends, so with the aero I really do believe its a do it all motorcycle Just got to save the money 😬
If you want a fast Italian bike you pick a Ducati. If you want a beautiful piece of art on wheels, you go with a Moto Guzzi! Gorgeous design, I can’t wait to ride one. I agree that the V85TT was underwhelming at best. Especially when I just got off the Aprilia Tuareg 660.
Love the enthusiasm for a good ride Spite. Gotta say as well, Moto Guzzi was always cool to me, but not my cool, someone else. This bike though...is cool and looks great
No man, the v85tt is a great bike. (got one too), and it's different bike than the v100. Keep it and have fun. Also, pretty sure they will come out later with a adventure style bike with this motor. I love the v100 looks, but it looks cramped for me (i'm 6.3)
@@henrietn Yeah, coming from the Diavel, the power is definately an issue for me on the V85. I'm 6'5 tho, so the V85TT has comfort going for it. The V100 engine on a ADV bike sounds nice I must admit. Thanks for the input ✌️
This is what I call an unbiased review. Thanks for providing this enthusiasm with us! I had the pleasure of testriding the none S version a few weeks ago for 2hours. And I've been quiet underwelmed by it's handling. (I daily an Yamaha MT-09 Tracer (FJ-09 in the states) It simply didn't really want to dip into any cornor or stay at the lean angle I've been asking it to do. Not confidence inspiring by any means. The breaks are pheonomenal tho (crisp, strong and precise) Just put one finger on the break lever and think about the the deceleration and the motorcycle will do the rest for you. (no mattter if it's trailbreaking or emergency full stop). The tech is supreem ok. Hope that they come out with an naked retro bike with that engine with a round LED headlight and analog gauges.
Spite, find out if you get her all setup the way you like it whether it then becomes a turn key ride. While your at it check for Mary Poppins. Does nanny control pop up everytime you restart?
You asked the right question at the beginning- " If they nailed the ads?" Which is equal to did they build what they intended, if not, is it better than intended(advertised) or worse than advertised.
I believe that this is a sport touring bike...they just released a new adv bike based on this platform and it looks sweet...great video...this bike is definitely in my possibly new bike purchase...much love from Ohio 😊😊😊
It would be interesting to have back to back comparison to the "normal" Tuono. The non-factory Tuono is now also set up to be a bit more comfortable and rather a sport tourer than a naked bike. It costs exactly the same as the V100S but has the gorgeous 175hp V4.... which could also be its biggest flaw since that engine honestly is way too ridiculously powerful for everyday use on public roads.
I have one [standard Tuono] and it is an absolute hoot to ride. I just cannot stop giggling every time I ride it. It was a lot cheaper to buy new than the factory version, yet has the same motor, frame, brakes and TFT. The sachs suspension is lovely and sporty yet not too stiff. The bars are higher [more comfy] and it has a usable dual seat with a grab rail and a taller screen that actually works. It is a lovely road bike but yeh, the V4 engine is a blast and you have to be a little careful or else you can lose your license in a flash.
Moto Guzzi = character not stats. The lack of dealerships and customer service is definitely a turn off for some...not to mention the long wait times for parts but I love mine and hope they don't change a thing because I want people to choose something else 😂
I wish I could afford one of these, it's not quite available in my country yet anyways. I'm currently on the older naked 2014 Griso 1200 SE. It's got more torque (80ftlb) than the V100 and slightly less power (108hp), since you can get a bit more power out of the liquid cooled motor even with 110 fewer cc vs the big-block air-cooled motor. I personally don't like electronics on motorcycles, i'd likely turn most of it off, and keep ABS on the lowest setting and have the active suspension doing its own thing, i'd even ask for the removal of those soul-less quick-shifters, I prefer manual rev-matching. Great content Spite. 👌 I fully agree with you on the power being perfect, 100-120hp is the Goldilocks zone for street bikes. Anything less feels like you're getting to the limit and wanting more, and anything much more than 120hp starts to be too much and then you can't use all the bike's capabilities and the manufacturers will even add electronics to dull down the power with TC and rider modes. I'd wager most people on 200hp litre bikes are only utilising 100-120hp of that power anyway with power modes and not going anywhere near the limit of the bike's capabilities.
Really cool bike, a lot of quick shifters don’t like 1-2 but I think same system as Aprilla Spite? The Aprilla guys worked on the motor that’s why… it’s so good. A gentleman’s Tuono GT with velvet v twin character, it looks a great bike, cannot wait to try it 😎 🏴 a genuine mutistrada, Tracer9 and RS1250R rival 💪 🇮🇹 didn’t even have the winglets out on the freeway, auto in rain, all set speed settable in road but don’t come out in sport mode. I reckon we’ll see a more focussed sport or naked on same platform, I reckon that new water cooled motor has plenty of more to give being out of the box. Active aero?

If you want a fast Italian bike you pick a Ducati. If you want a beautiful piece of art on wheels, you go with a Moto Guzzi! Gorgeous design, I can’t wait to ride one. I agree that the V85TT was underwhelming at best. Especially when I just got off the Aprilia Tuareg 660.
You can keep the ESB, ABS, traction control & all the other electronic "helpers", but an electronic windscreen? HELL YES! I want one so bad.
Love the enthusiasm for a good ride Spite. Gotta say as well, Moto Guzzi was always cool to me, but not my cool, someone else. This bike though...is cool and looks great
Kinda regret buying the V85TT last summer now instead of waiting for this.... Oh well guess I'll be losing some money 😂.
Nice first impression sir ✌️
No man, the v85tt is a great bike. (got one too), and it's different bike than the v100. Keep it and have fun. Also, pretty sure they will come out later with a adventure style bike with this motor. I love the v100 looks, but it looks cramped for me (i'm 6.3)
@@henrietn Yeah, coming from the Diavel, the power is definately an issue for me on the V85. I'm 6'5 tho, so the V85TT has comfort going for it. The V100 engine on a ADV bike sounds nice I must admit.
Thanks for the input ✌️
The V85 is an entirely different machine. It is pure on/off-road adventure bike while the V100 is pure Sport-Tourer. Very different targets.
It's a great looking bike.
I think this is a fantastic looking bike and would love to ride one
This bike is very interesting. Love my V7 but if I was going to make a move this would be on my short list.
Hey man great video as always. I want to ask what is the jacket you wear?
I like how much passion for bikes you have! I miss my v7 guzzi stone. Guzzi is a cool company
All good lovin the content
Spite, find out if you get her all setup the way you like it whether it then becomes a turn key ride. While your at it check for Mary Poppins. Does nanny control pop up everytime you restart?
You asked the right question at the beginning- " If they nailed the ads?" Which is equal to did they build what they intended, if not, is it better than intended(advertised) or worse than advertised.
I believe that this is a sport touring bike...they just released a new adv bike based on this platform and it looks sweet...great video...this bike is definitely in my possibly new bike purchase...much love from Ohio 😊😊😊
Love the pink Suzuki Cappuccino in the background at the 1:25 mark
With a reaction like that from Spite this has to be some serious bike. Will def have a look at it.
I've been waiting to hear about this bike. I also want to see what Spite thinks of the Norden 901 if he can get his hands on one.
I have always loved the Moto Guzzi engine
I take one with none of the electro-do-dads and 3-way manual adjustable suspension. Great review thanks.
Spite yes sometimes my middle finger does a lot of work while I am riding 🤣
This one seems sick, but if they make V85TT with this engine and that retro styling, ill buy it before i get bike license
Spike, how does this bike compare with the ~ '17 Griso for riding?
Loved this video!

Keep up the bike reviews though they are great!
I always had a soft spot for Guzzis
