I have a mint condition fender Affinity Strat HSS Black body rosewood fretboard and the original Gig Bag. I originally paid $149 plus tax about 2 years ago. Because of all the inflation I'm asking $1300 plus $312 shipping. Price is firm. I wanted to add it's probably going to need new strings. I could re-string it for around $149 plus tax before I ship it. Thanks for looking.

I was an 80s kid who thought I needed to sound like Yngwie, so I took my strat and scalloped all of the frets by hand (with a round file). If you like that sort of thing, it was probably fantastic, but I quickly learned that scalloped frets were not my thing - I needed to feel some wood under my fingers. Not long after that I dropped whammy bars.

The paint job on the Carvin is worse than my first attempt at painting a guitar. I used the wrong top coat paint. It would actually get tacky from my arms body heat when playing. Had to put skate Stickers on it to be comfortable. I eventually stripped and painted it properly years later.

Monkey grip on a tele! Not bad craftsmanship tho. I’m on there with my Fretless groove bass. I got like 20 watchers and I sold 1 bass recently. I’m a bit worried as it’s like $400 high end Ibanez so hope I do it proper. Ha Some people wanna try the groove bends to challenge there skills or whatever. For Fretless the tone can be pretty cool if you dial it in VS standard vibrato. Interesting note fluctuations and tone.

So that carvin…… yes the finish was a grade school art project but the parts might make that worth maybe 600 assuming everything is working and in good condition I could see someone buying that and husking it. It’s a shame because I’m sure that guitar played beautifully when it was new. But yeah the parts are worth some money. That carved cedar thing was just wt serious f. The body carve was honestly not bad, not my jam but whatever I’m sure somebody likes that esthetic but the head stick literally looked like what my dog does after she somehow managed to topple over the garbage can. What is a single coil equipped HHH guitar? As much as I despise polyester finishes, looking at how badly it was finished, they should have gone that route. Polyester is such an easy finish that you would have to try to f'ck it up…to actually f'ck it up.
No streaks, as long as there's enough on it and you hang it to dry, gravity will smooth it out. It's why the worst Fender era had it so thick, they just shoot the f'ck out of it and it dries glossy and smooth. Sure you basically wrap the body in a plastic candy coating so you'll basically only hear the pickups and there's no character to it, but looking at that thing I don't think you'd miss it.

How is the Green Day one or the Joan Jet one even “ridiculous”? Those do not deserve to be in this video they are 1) replicas of famous guitars, meaning they are not irrelevant or irresponsible in their modification 2) they are prices very fairly in terms of what a regular Gibson guitar costs, let alone a VINTAGE Gibson. 3) You call it ridiculous despite having zero arguments as to WHY it should be seen as ridiculous (Example: the Sharpie marker on the Carvin is a ridiculous modification to a guitar, the modifications are totally unnecessary and don’t even raise the value of the guitar)

Did you call it a "monkey paw"? Curious as to where that come from exactly. No offense & I know that you know gear & obviously are the one with the channel, but how can you be so into gear & not know the correct terminology for the worlds first innovative guitar that revolutionized modern rock guitar as we know it & designed by one of the most legendary guitarists ever? This guitar has been around for almost a half a century & the lion's claw & monkey grip are so vastly known. I get it if JEMs aren't your thing, but still. - OK, I'm officially off of my soap box now -lol.
I'm off to go carve a monkey grip into it as bad as the one on that Carvin. Cause' whatever terminology you may choose to use, that route is just plain ridiculous either way.-Cheers
