I am going to assume that Fluff never bought the Ninja Turtles guitar from a few episodes back. Anyways, just wanna say that these videos always brighten up my day!
Lol. Dan spitz of anthrax had a Jackson Rhodes with ninja turtles airbrushed on it. I bought one in 1990 and still have it to this day. Sans ninja turtles. ;)
The first listing's text says: one of a kind, hand crafted from premium quality materials, ESP neck, scalloped fretboard, custom alder body, steampunk design, vintage humbucker, graphite nut, Kahler vibrato with fine tuning pegs.
First time viewer. Enjoyed the video. Funny stuff. Steampunk opener and Grandma's melted table had me laughing along with the blue permanent marker on the Carvin. But that Joan Jett guitar was a dirty, sweet girl. Gorgeous rocker - but the price! Anyway, fun video - watching more 👍😄
I have a mint condition fender Affinity Strat HSS Black body rosewood fretboard and the original Gig Bag. I originally paid $149 plus tax about 2 years ago. Because of all the inflation I'm asking $1300 plus $312 shipping. Price is firm. I wanted to add it's probably going to need new strings. I could re-string it for around $149 plus tax before I ship it. Thanks for looking.
Imagine you run a high-end recording studio, right, but the only guitars you have are all the crazy ones from Ridiculous Reverb Listings. Or you're gigging in an extreme technical death metal band, right, and you go on stage with that melted firebird grandma coffee table axe. Life goals.
I just seen a 60s something Fender Tele neck, just the neck with no tuners on it for $14,000 on REVERB!! FOR A FREAKING GUITAR NECK!!! I'd hate to see how much they want for the body piece.
The first one and I assume lots of them are more like art pieces to put on the wall I love the steam punk style guitar I would love to have this on my living room wall :P
The gem-cut finger thingy is because he doesn't have the bread for a gig bag so he carries it this-a-way, see? LOL I 100% agree with all your picks and gripes. New here, subbed a few weeks ago, 1st comment! The Oak Leaf carving was very nice so why did he butcher the silhouette? The world may never know, just like the sucker... Edit: Oh yeah, I'll take the Ferrari! lols
Great job. I love how you find this overpriced stuff. No one on the "Listening end is going to know the difference. Especially the "Dumble Amp" dealI think my Mesa TO 50 watt head would sound as good -if properly dialed in properly. Just my opinion.
I was an 80s kid who thought I needed to sound like Yngwie, so I took my strat and scalloped all of the frets by hand (with a round file). If you like that sort of thing, it was probably fantastic, but I quickly learned that scalloped frets were not my thing - I needed to feel some wood under my fingers. Not long after that I dropped whammy bars.
Aesthetically, the Kahler and the scalloped frets are the correct choice for a steampunk guitar, but for every good decision there did seem to be an equally pointless choice on that one. Price insane for what would be an art piece essentially.
The paint job on the Carvin is worse than my first attempt at painting a guitar. I used the wrong top coat paint. It would actually get tacky from my arms body heat when playing. Had to put skate Stickers on it to be comfortable. I eventually stripped and painted it properly years later.
Monkey grip on a tele! Not bad craftsmanship tho. I’m on there with my Fretless groove bass. I got like 20 watchers and I sold 1 bass recently. I’m a bit worried as it’s like $400 high end Ibanez so hope I do it proper. Ha Some people wanna try the groove bends to challenge there skills or whatever. For Fretless the tone can be pretty cool if you dial it in VS standard vibrato. Interesting note fluctuations and tone.
Dear Fluff, the bridge in the 1st listing (the Steampunk) is an Accu-Tune, which is a mediocre knock-off illegitimate sibling of Kahler. Why someone would stick something wretched like that on a USD 1000+ "custom" guitar leaves me genuinely puzzled.
Not for the first time on these videos, that Fireturd is actually quite a nice looking piece of wood that has been completely wasted. Really, anyone who has a nice piece of wood and woodworking skills, just make a normal looking guitar. And just buy an off the shelf bridge from TonePros or whatever instead of making... _that_
Coming here every episode to make sure my slightly overpriced guitar so that when people inevitably send chopped offers I can still get what its worth isn't laughed at by the internet.
So that carvin…… yes the finish was a grade school art project but the parts might make that worth maybe 600 assuming everything is working and in good condition I could see someone buying that and husking it. It’s a shame because I’m sure that guitar played beautifully when it was new. But yeah the parts are worth some money. That carved cedar thing was just wt serious f. The body carve was honestly not bad, not my jam but whatever I’m sure somebody likes that esthetic but the head stick literally looked like what my dog does after she somehow managed to topple over the garbage can. Like actual runny poop. Anyway love these videos thanks for making them.
How a about ridiculous Facebook market place? I've found a Frankenstrat Kramer from a "builder" for $1,500. The neck was not set right the low E string was too far in and High E string too far gone. Luckily I was only looking.
What is a single coil equipped HHH guitar? As much as I despise polyester finishes, looking at how badly it was finished, they should have gone that route. Polyester is such an easy finish that you would have to try to f'ck it up…to actually f'ck it up. No streaks, as long as there's enough on it and you hang it to dry, gravity will smooth it out. It's why the worst Fender era had it so thick, they just shoot the f'ck out of it and it dries glossy and smooth. Sure you basically wrap the body in a plastic candy coating so you'll basically only hear the pickups and there's no character to it, but looking at that thing I don't think you'd miss it.
The first guitar all the comment said is basicly that it's an original handbuilt piece. It has graphite saddles, custom body, etc... Just a very basic description of the monstrousity.
I could buy a new car outright, pay for insurance and live off that money for at least 5 years for the price of that Dumble amp. The cost of it is for the super rich.
Try finding a Sunn Model T for a good price, impossible. Even clones of today are around £4k, way too much, & not really worth it considering what they are - a basic amp. I'm a huge fan of them but there's no way I would spend over £2k for one, luckily, I found a local amp builder (Stoneham) who has built me one for much less, and is just as good/better (and capable) than what's available. Just look around, ask.
Why aren't we making fun of how other people spend their money? We're surrounded by people who buy things and experiences they neither need nor can afford. Our fellow Americans are dumb as hell when it comes to money. Public shaming might actually be in their best interest.
I have a Fberma Imperator prototype that I bought off of someone for less than $100. It's a fucking mess, the body is broken, the fretboard is unplayable and the guitar weighs, no lie, 42 pounds. It's useless, but a cool decoration lol.
First listing probably cost $700-$800 to build plus time spent… I think that’s reasonable in today’s economy. It’s a bespoke piece. I am NOT the builder.
Forgive my ignorance, but aren't they just a hand built Marshall copy? Is there something a Dumble can do that say, a JTM couldn't do? (Bass player, not too familiar with guitar amps)
@@michaellorenz7177 that’s what I’m saying. I wouldn’t know other than what I heard in records, and I think I heard one with John Mayer when he plays with dead and co., but that’s in a stadium. At that outrageous price point who even cares? I feel like it’s more of a status symbol or something.
How is the Green Day one or the Joan Jet one even “ridiculous”? Those do not deserve to be in this video they are 1) replicas of famous guitars, meaning they are not irrelevant or irresponsible in their modification 2) they are prices very fairly in terms of what a regular Gibson guitar costs, let alone a VINTAGE Gibson. 3) You call it ridiculous despite having zero arguments as to WHY it should be seen as ridiculous (Example: the Sharpie marker on the Carvin is a ridiculous modification to a guitar, the modifications are totally unnecessary and don’t even raise the value of the guitar)
$184.000 dumble? you would probably be a lot happier if you got an amp tech to build you a dumble clone for like say 14,000 and give the other 170Gs to a worthy cause. or hell get a Ferrari if that's what floats your boat.

That Carvin at the end was a great closer. The monkey grip combined with the permanent marker? Just wow...Thanks for making my morning, Fluff!

11:29 needs to become a GIF with sound :D :D :D dude I'm crying - I watched it five times.

I knew the internet would come through.
honestly if it lite up with led lights too it would sell for 249.99
Those two knobs on that Firebird are also ridiculously placed, what a monstrosity.
I think you’re my favorite guitarist ever lol. Can’t wait to hear y’all when you come home again! Love this Chanel too!!
I come for the ridiculous, I stay for your reactions. Always entertaining and we thank you lol.
"Gam Gam is going to notice her coffee table is gone." LMAO!!!!
Rocking The Home Team shirt!!! Yaya 🤘
Thanks Fluff! Awesome as always.
“Life Happens”….. true that. Favorite part was Super Mario on TV in the background during the Carvin…. This is life.
Good stuff as always…
Bring these back! So good👍
Any Reverb listing targeting Greenday fans is by default ridiculous

I have the NUX Steel Singer. Dumble Pedal for £30. Tone is legit and I saved 100 grand.
That Firebird looks like a Bavarian cuckoo clock maker took a run at guitar making.
I remember back in the 80s when you could pick up 60s Melody Makers for $300-350…all over the place.
Imagine you run a high-end recording studio, right, but the only guitars you have are all the crazy ones from Ridiculous Reverb Listings. Or you're gigging in an extreme technical death metal band, right, and you go on stage with that melted firebird grandma coffee table axe. Life goals.

The Dunable not only $184k but they want $500 to ship haha!
Fluff rockin' The Home Team merch! Love to see it

The dumbleator is an external effects loop
I would not call that first guitar steampunk, somebody emptied a junk drawer and had their way with it.
But I'm glad they did!
the Dumble does have a make offer tab lol!
The Dumbalator is a buffer for the effects loop.
cool
unmolested, that Carvin is amazing. Sad to see it in its current "modded by a 7 year old" state
Hey! Suggestion here. You should do a review of Guitar Rig 6 Pro
I donno...im into #3. I'm dig that wacky woodwork. I'd rock it even if everyone hated it.
The Dumbelator is the effects loop.
I guess an alternate title for this episode could be "what the next guy is willing to pay" or "a fool and his money are soon parted"

I'magine how sick that stock Carvin would be if it were sitting here today. RIP
4:41 I lost it 😂
The Dumblelator is an effects loop unit for the amp! I don't think any Dumbles came with an effects loop! So he designed the Dumblelator?
What’d he mean at 2:08 about “burst owners”? Like Gibson burst guitars? Lol, I didn’t know those were rare
3:08 that’s what I’ve done with my 300 bucks guitar and 300 bucks amp

You've scared all of the ridiculousness off of Reverb... They know they will get Fluffed!
The only listing which was TRULY ridiculous was the steam punk one. The rest were just ‘unfortunate reverb listings’.
