The one about other sections complaining about yanking to hold their instruments is so true! At age ten I worked in a historical fife and drum Corp (I was the youngest, we did 18th century finest and drums) and the way our sling ( for holding our drums) worked is that all the weight from the drum was bared by your right shoulder. I think sometimes people forget that, even though orchestra instruments are mostly hollow, they're still really heavy, especially when your cello isn't on wheels and you have a 15 lb back pack and a lunchbox, water bottle, and music bag, and you can only carry it in your right hand... Key difference is that a cello is played sitting down, so no as much strain on you neck or back. Nah drum line, at least for the marching band I’m in is split into two. The battery ( the cool ones😢, the ones people usually think of when they think drum line😭) and frontline ( the ones at the front of the band with the giant boards.) I’m in frontline, but I used to be on battery. LET ME TELL YOU, it’s a whole different WORLD! The majority of the band doesn’t like the frontline including battery. So, I’ll be wondering when this event that we’ve done is because we are usually notified about it. It turns out we didn’t even get an invitation😢. Also, the amount of times I left my vibe during water break to come back to see people touching it is absolutely ridiculous. Although I won’t go back to battery because I love playing frontline much more, I kinda miss that I was treated as an actual person in band beforehand.
I always bring my water with me in band and all the clarinets in the back always ask me, "Hey, _____ can I have a drink of your water?" and I'm like, yeah sure, bcs I'm a nice person, but if a trumpet tries to ask, I say no
When the mandates for school still weren’t lifted our water fountains were closed and we have a rule against not clear water bottle so me, as a flute and my other flute friend suffered whilst I suffered on flute and piccolo without water so I had to restart to turning my head upside down hoping it would help, when we had our concert I had to play 6 songs, I am still not okay.

how is it that right after i watch a tiktok about how band kids never get sleep ⟟ get an ad for monster energy- 🤣🤣
2:50 As a person in battery (drum line), when he was saying “d-, d-, d-“ I legit thought he was gonna say “dut”
Funny story, coupledays ago i was touching the timp after school and a percussion kid says "DoN't ToUcH tHe TiMp" noow I'm in wind ensemble percussion and I was touching it to see if it was tuned... it was not so I said "I'm in percussion." he then said "Now your not!!" at this point I assumed he was in concert or symphonic band since he isn't in my class so all I said was "I'm in wind ensemble." then he looked at me dumbstruck and said "Oh sorry" I said "no problem" then left
Apparently I told my mom I wanted to be section leader and at parent teacher conferences my mom told my Band Director that I wanted to be Section Leader and I legit died of embarrassment.
The “respect for trumpets” at the very end, lol. I missed band today, I had to do state testing 🥲
This video was made 3 years ago today. Happy birthday
Why yall hating on trumpets, i mean i know we play very loud but like at least 000.1% of respect
3:49 That's Vandoren reeds for you, always being inconsistent-
Respect the trumpets, we have to deal with our bullshit every single day.
