Thank you! This worked great for my friend's Moto G4 2016 Amazon edition that we previously removed ads on with the the oem.img. He was tired of getting an update notification and now he doesnt even care about the ads because they're less annoying than the update notification.

thank you man, today is 21st Oct 2023 and you just saved my monthly savings. I almost bricked my phone, and your tutorial along with many tutorials helped me to restore it. I have Moto G5s Plus and I don't want to spend on the phone just to change the OS version. To do the customized ROM my phone stuck in bootloop. I found the flash files of stock ROM but I don't know how to do the things.

I was able to update the replacement 2018 Moto Z2 Force I bought to PCX29.159-21-3 since for some reason the phone itself, the verizon software, nor the Lenovo software could make it past putting the phone into Fastboot to actually update it. Big thanks =)

Lol I was freaking out because the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant wasn't working and since I knew a bit about fastboot and adb commands, I thought I'd lookup a more "manual" solution and here I am with the best solution! This inspired me to create scripts for those on XDA who may want it. So just in case someone starts seeing some "automated packages" on XDA threads, it might just be me lol

hey mate, even this being a relatively old video it literally saved my life! my phone was stuck at the bootloader logo and wouldn't boot at all, i was using some other tools to try to rescue it but none of them worked, only your method. so, thanks a lot for this!!!!

i have the moto e4 and made the .bat out of the servicefile.xml, phone is stuck on the blue screen with the "'M' powered by android" logo screen before going to that screen it displays a black screen with "bad key" in the top left corner.
ran the .bat for flashfile and noticed while running that while writing "boot" it responded with "(bootloader) image signed with bad key" but still came back with "OKAY" on the next line.
the flashfile.bat worked completely and unbricked my phone. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

Hi, thanks for making the video. I've tried your method but it seems my phone won't accept the commands; I keep getting the message "failed" after every attempt to download when I'm running the .bat file. It also says it's not allowed on "locked" devices - so if the problem is that my device is locked, how do I unlock it? Android cannot load after a failed update recently (Motorola Edge).

Hi bro! The "Flash & Backup v3.0.7" program, the old Motorola Utility; NOT compatible with Windows 10? It installs well and starts well, but when I connect a Motorola dew the old "MOTOROLA RAZR2 V9m" for example, it keeps thinking and the Flash & Backup v3.0.7 image freezes, I must forcefully close it .... -.-
Is it common to have to run this more than once for it to work? I've tried twice so far, and it's still stuck on the boot screen. Many thanks! BTW, I've never done anything like this before and your video made it super easy.
if you flash the right firmware you should only have to flash it once. If still on bootloader screen use the volume buttons to scroll to reboot and power to select it.
So how is this supposed to work for the Motorola Droid RAZR M xml file? Cause I was following these steps and the whole thing was completely different than what was shown in the video. This might be a dumb question cause I have a hard time understanding these things.
RSD Lite 6.2.4 works fine in Windows 10. Using it right now to flash the Retail ROM to my E4 Plus.

HELP! I have a motorola moto G4 xt1625, amazon prime version. I made the mistake of trying to update it to Android 8.1 through an official firmware with that version of Android, which did not turn out to be compatible and now the phone got stuck at startup, I have already tried to flash several official firmwares for that model to Leave it as it was, but none has worked, still stuck at boot. HELP!

Any idea what I can do if RSD lite says: "the phone failed to switch to fastboot mode" although the phone is connected and already in "Fastboot Flash Mode"???
My phone doesn't show up in RSD Lite when I plug it in, but the USB Driver shows up in Device Manager, and the phone says "Transfer Mode: USB Connected".

Didn't work for me, can't get my Moto G power to boot. I was able to successfully write all of the files, but it's stuck in an infinite reboot loop now. Recovery mode shows "No Command".

Followed this exactly for my Moto E (2015) and after reboot and got the bootloader unlocked warning, got a screen with an Android mascot that says "No command."
Not sure what to make of that.
Nevermind, figured out the issue. Had to "fastboot format userdata" and that fixed the issue.

Thks for showing how to create a flash file for the G5 Plus, but unfortunately for me it does not work. The computer etc sees the phone, I can send the command, but get back a whole wack of "(bootloader) permission denied" and "(bootloader) flash permission denied". This phone had stock ROM, the bootloader was unlocked to allow root/flashing to Android 10, but that was never done. So Bootloader was relocked. Now getting "operating system has changed" (did not touch it), so figured re-flash it using your method HELP please
When it tried to write "system" the preflash validation failed. As well as "boot"
