- We finally bought our Dream DIY House and spent our life savings in the process. In this video we walk you through the entire house before any renovation projects happen, show you what we have gotten ourselves into and tell you guys the plans for Komar Project for the future. There are more DIY projects in this house then I can count, but if we take one project at a time, we can make this house in our true DIY Dream HOME. One cool thing for your basement is get a huge fish tank and have a beautiful tank setup! And dude that's awesome!!! I've been learning how to do smaller projects a working my way up to bigger things!
Omg we just cut a deal on a 250 gallon tank for the basement. Going to build it in a wall. But shhhhhh it’s a secret lol

Be sure to keep all of the 4 blade ceiling fans those are 80's Casablanca (I think the 4 seasons model) and they are one of the best Ceiling fans ever made there is one in one of the upstairs bedrooms (the 12x12 ones) and the sunroom if you do not want them in your house at least make sure to install them in your shop to keep them

Looks like a nice project. i would personally salvage the cabinets and just repaint them. itll save you thousands. Just my two cents.
We might just refinish the cabinets. If not they are going in the shop to finish the miter station lol

The property is just gorgeous! What state are you in? I'm sure you had the house inspected before buying it as it is usually a requirement of most mortgage companies. And as long as it has good bones you can turn it into a lifetime home. Did I see fruit trees on the property? I'm catching up on older videos, so I apologize if you answer my questions in future videos. What was it about oak during the 1980s anyway??

My house has been a work in progress since my Dad and I built it 27 years ago (unfinished basement and stick framed attic. Good luck. I hope those leaky windows don't expose bigger issues with the walls. I'll be watching for how you extend out your kitchen too as I'm planning on moving my (load bearing) wall out about 6' too.

Huge move for the channel, endless videos. Not the direction I saw the channel going when I first started following you, but still cool. Hopefully you can keep it fluid and going all the way until you're done. Kinda looks like you need a film crew to follow you around like those other HGTV "reality" shows.

Congrats Bart and Honey-Bunny. Frightening ain't it? I've done the "forever home" project twice now and am about to embark on it yet again in the next year or so. Once the kids are grown and gone a huge space becomes too much so, time for a smaller "forever home". My best to ya' and I look forward to seeing the vids.

@@KomarProject Feel free Bart. I've done pretty much everything residential except HVAC. That includes jacking the whole damn thing up and pouring a foundation underneath. That was Money Pit #2 - an 1896 building in a mountain gold mining town. The one I'm in now was a foreclosure a little bit older than yours - gutted to the studs and replaced everything. Now 10 years on I'm finally getting around to the Kitchen cabinets.
Love your enthusiasm! hope you will reconsider using gas. In the Netherlands we are trying to get the gas out. Electricity (the green version) might be the better choice :-) Good luck with the reno!!

Hi Bart! random question, what brand or type of sealer are you using in the video introduction? second 0:15 (you are filling a crack outside the house) it's very powerfull and I need something exactly like that one! please please help me out to find it, the regular foam cans do not have that amount of power!!
