Aurora explained the song's meaning to The 405:
"It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember."
When asked in an interview by Bergensmagasinet if the line "not everybody knows that I am lucky to be alive" was inspired by a specific event, she said:
"It can be interpreted in many ways. I am hypersensitive and very sensitive to everything around me when it comes to sounds, lights and the way people speak [the tone]. It was difficult for me when I discovered that not all children are as well off as I am; I thought a lot about how sad it was, and that I'm just lucky to have been born right here. It feels so random, like a stroke of luck, like something I can easily lose. There is a lot in the world that you can feel threatened by, things that can make you think that I will not survive this."

This performance is masterpiece. I love the song and this particular performance. She wrote the song when was 9 (mind-blowing) and finished it a little later. And the song is very meaningful. In my interpretation about depression so deep that could end even with suicide ("offering"). But even if in such dark times everything looks hopeless you just need to resist and move forward one step after another. Then, in one day, you see a light for the first time (for the longer time) and you will be lucky that you are alive.
Her voice in beautiful, She is very into the song and very expressive. True artist and very emotional performance.

She is unique, because she is pureley herself. I have seen her live 5 times, and every time she has surprised me!

A song that she chose in performance of a Christmas concert here at the cathedral I used to think this song was telling a different story but I now see it as a sacrament.

together with Infections of a different kind, through the eyes of a child, why did you have to go, a potion of love, i went to far, you keep me crawling and the conflict of the mind the best songs of all time, lucky is at number 2 on my list, a masterpiece in every meaning of the word, and Aurora is unique, I am 49 myself, soon to be 50, but I have never heard someone like Aurora, the voice but especially the singing technique
