    A good way to get all 4 caliper pistons to pop when you are using air is to put a block of wood between the pistons and then they will come out but not all the way the block of wood will stop them from coming all the way out.

    A good tip for keeping paint out of threads - the cheap 3M yellow foam ear plugs do a perfect job for filling the hole during paint and can be removed easily afterwards

    Coat the hubs in anti seize before installing rotors and on the top hats to keep the wheels from adhering, put it on wheel studs too. And you gotta clean the paint off for the underside of those caliper mounts! Just put a little anti seize on that surface.

    If you do any kind of serious track days, those dust seals will be gone in short order. Not the end of the world, most folks who track don't bother to replace. I believe cup cars don't come with them. Also, those caliper bolts are considered stretch bolts and thus one time use.

    Are the rotors on the wrong side? I always thought and heard that the directional slots need to face the rear of the car?

      The slots don't matter. It's the inside vanes that matter.

    You didn't strip the paint off the calipers? Or prime them first? Not sure how long your new paint is going to last, particularly if those calipers see any heat, like at the track

    • @matt13ross
      @matt13ross  6 месяцев назад

      No need to strip the paint or primer them. A good cleaning and sanding will work just fine. 2K paint is super durable too.
